Car repair bill seems high

Want to know if I can trust my mechanic. $498 for catalytic converter, $133 for labor. $560 for 14 Band clamps at $40 a pop. I'm not super familiar with exhausts but shouldn't there have been only like 2 to 4 clamps used? 14 seems crazy high?

Fourteen clamps is a high number, it's likely a recording error (typo). Was the work done already?

yeah it was already done and paid for. My gf handed me the paperwork and it blew my mind a bit.

Go back and tell them that there is an obvious mistake on the clamps.

Thanks for help gentlemen. I went back and they reduced the clamp usage from 14 to 1. They gave us $520 back. You were right about it being a typo, I may have to start double checking all my SO's receipts now.
