2019 Civic Si what should I offer?

I’ve been considering a 2019 Civic Si for the past month or so. On another forum I’ve seen a few recent purchases not far over $21k. I was expecting closer to $22.5k and was going to hold off until the end of the month but the $21k range seems like a very solid price.

I’m prequalified for financing so I’m planning to email dealerships my offer and see who takes it. But how low can I go without being laughed at?

Also how much of a dip in price might I expect on a 2019 once the 2020 model hits lots?

That’s sort of why I am unsure. Edmunds had the true market value around $23,700. I’ve seen most dealers with a posted price of ~$23,500.

I also being to a few model-specific forums where I’ve seen recent purchases $2,000 below those numbers. In the last 2 weeks I’ve seen $21,300 and $21,700.

Seems like a big difference? I’d hate to overpay by $2k if I can avoid it.

Don't make offers. Ask for quotes.

So would you recommend getting 1 quote at a time and let the next dealer beat it? Or get a bunch and work off the lowest?

Thanks! Been awhile since I bought a new car, and I don’t think I did bad but want to know i get my best deal this time around.

Reach out to multiple dealers concurrently, and have them bid against each other for the right to earn your business.

But, make sure you're getting and apples-to-apples comparison on the quotes.

I just did exactly what was suggested, reaching out to 9 dealers within 75 mile radius of Philly.

For what it's worth, I ended up leasing a 2019 Civic Si sedan for 36mos/36k for $500 down and $271/month.

Not fantastic by any means, but I'm happy with it. I could have done better had I been willing to drive to further dealers in north Jersey, but I didn't have a trade so coordinating travel & PTO wasn't worth the $5-$8/month.

All i asked for was net cap cost in an email. I would then provide that net cap cost to concurrent dealer(s).

Larger dealers seemed to have better prices. Good luck! It's an awesome car.
