i know this may not make sense to the Z-71 guys out there but what are your thoughts on lowering a 1500 series truck. do you know anybody that's done it? i've been told that in doing so that a guy could end up with more launch shutter than he'll care for. i'm looking at a 2-4 inch drop.
In trucking (the magazine) they have alot of lowering kits and such. SOmetimes they even explain how they do it and stuff tons of pics too.
Your in cali right? Thats a popular thing out there i take it. I personally wouldnt do it. If anything i would raise mine up.
Could you explain (for the dumb) what you mean by launch shudder. That an the aftershocks i am not quite grasping. Aftershocks are common (to me) for a pickup that is unloaded. People think it should drive like a car but its a truck. Maybe its just me but the rear end unloaded (yes ive had it loaded down too) is very floaty.
If you lower it in a tasteful way (not painting the truck a million colors and stuff) i think it would look very nice. Ill read in my old truck trend and trucking and see if i can come up with a better answer for ya.
Someone on this board mentioned doing that to his truck. There are lots of ways to do it. I'd go with flatter leaf springs in the back, and shorter springs/shocks in front. I forget who makes a kit to do it this way (they also make heavier sway bars), but the kit is designed to improve cornering. I'm thinking about it myself.
