Has anyone had any luck getting Firestone or GM to exchange their 16 inch Wilderness ATs? I'm starting to wonder if it is only a Ford problem because of their low air pressure recommendation to counteract roll over tendencies. But I never cared for Firestone, would much prefer to have had Goodyear or Michelin. Come to think of it Ford and Firestone both start with an "f" and the other two are "GM". Aw... who gives a ...

BTW, regarding tires, I did a dumb thing and went over to that Tahoe/Yukon topic to check if anyone was complaining about tires over there and, GEE WHAT A SURPRISE, the sky is falling again. LOL
Yea i started a controversy on the tahoe topic again about tires. Have you heard of a tahoe or burb being in an accident due to firestone tires? NO! mass panic thats all it is. I mean with tires being bad i see why you could be concerned but its a little overboard

xring... I would not ever buy anything from Bob Howard CHEVROLET. I bought my truck from Bob Howard Pontiac/GMC. Believe it or not, there is a significant difference (or maybe I just got lucky). The salesman (Kyle Adcock) I bought my truck from was low-key, knowledgable, and generally easy to work with. I would recommend him. However, he has been promoted to web site managing salesman, so now he can sell anything that Bob Howard (Group 1) can sell (which is just about any brand out there). Their service department at Pontiac/GMC has been reasonably good; not great. They have tried very hard to fix the truck; but it is defective, and they acknowledged this to me last visit. We'll see if they maintain this story at the arbitration hearing.
White what size BFG's do you have??? ALso do they make them in WOL. One last question how much each were they? I was thinking of going to either BFG's or michelin when i change mine.
Thanks again

Also throw in my 99 Ext. cab 2500 rides better than the wifes Exploder, both are 2wd. When I first got the 99 she did not want anything to do with it now every time we go some where she hopes that we are taking my truck.
Im sure itll do it with ease

I don't know why or how,but the day after I set up the appt to have the oil changed and the interior light problem(and the geiger counter)fixed,I got out of the truck, and the lights came on!ONCE!Then,on Friday night, they came on,and are working fine now, every time.I'm still going to keep the appt,I'll tell them about the problems:
1.Ticking in dash(they won't find anything!)
2.Urrrkkk noise in back(they won't find anything)
3.Transmission thing when it just sits there(do I have to say it?)
4.Leak in rear drivers window.(they will have to order the part I bet!)
At least they have the right filter, and Mobil One to do the oil change with. The way my lucks been lately, the truck won't be ready by closing time. The last time they let me have a Pontiac TransPort,an old dustbuster one. What a horrible van.My friend got a 99 T/A for a loaner when his tranny was leaking on his 98 Sierra. Why not me??
I am not trying to be a wise guy...far from it. If you are not happy with your vehicle, it is YOUR responsibility to communicate this to your dealer. This is also true if you are not happy with their service. While the problems you have listed appear to be more of an annoyance rather than a safety issue, except for the trans, you should expect it from a vehicle that is made in the USA by union workers....as the other 80 million drives have. Have a great Sunday!! BTW, if the urrrkkk noise in the back is actually in the back of the cab, most likely, its the plastic insulators (2) that hold the rear seat up. If its on the exterior of the truck, could be the cab mounts or the rear leaf springs. Hey, that's the least I could offer right? Sure beats pounding on the dashboard as others would suggest....LOL

air filter instrux are in the owner's manual on pages 6-18 and 6-19. in the event that's in your truck too:
1. if your vehicle is equipped with a panel under then center of the instrument panel, remove the bolts on it to remove the panel.
2. reach under the instrument panel towards the front of the vehicle and pull downward on the filter retaining bracket.
3. remove the air filter by pulling downward on the element. remove the second portion of the air filter by sliding it towards the rear of the vehicle and then pulling downward.
4. install the new filter by reversing the steps listed above.

On Wednesday, we're going to get about six hours in Paris. Then we begin our trek back home. I honestly can't wait. I've frankly seen enough priceless works of art, been to every palace, city hall, museum and church. I'm tired of being herded onto buses, and can't wait to sit behind the wheel of my CHEVY SILVERADO,...WooHoo....THE TRUCK!
I've heard on the news to expect a shock from rising gasoline prices....
No pickup trucks in Europe, but there is hope. Saw on the docks, a Mitsubishi truck like the Nissan Frontier or Ford Sportrac...4 full size doors, short cargo bed, two tone paint.
See you soon,
quad

I did not see this on the instructions, but I also had to remove one additional bolt on the cover that holds the filter in place. The filter was dirty and had a little mold on it. Now that I know what tools to use, the next time it will be easy. I may just but a 7mm deep socket. You can never have enough tools!!
I also put the fence panels in the back. They fit perfect hung em off the side kinda a half V.
I am worn out now dug so many damn posts and mixed so much concrete whew pass me a cold one thanks.
Oh yea one other thing what color are your guys oil filter??? I Found mine today i did some under the truck investigating since i had it parked in my front yard. Its blue kinda on the side drivers side middle. Well i think ill be doing my next oil change after labor day better go find a PF59 soon. Also gas milage is slowly increasing almost up to 15mpg now.
