When to bring a possible trade-in into a used car negotiation

I prefer to negotiate for used cars via email, before I get to the dealer. At what point should I bring up the possibility of a trade-in? Before or after I ask for an OTD price?

Do you know how much the trade in is worth? If you do, it doesn't matter when you introduce it into the deal.
