3rd Party Broker Chaika Global Cars

I was searching for on my local Craigslist for used vehicles and found one I was interested in. After responding to the posting, it was apparent this was a 3rd party broker Chaika Global Cars. A quick internet search will lead to their site.

Does anyone have any experience with this broker? Everything about their terms and conditions raises concerns. They do not seem to have a physical presence and other internet searches yield very little information about the "company".

Any assistance or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,
Tim

If your first instinct isn't positive, you should probably follow it and keep searching.

    TimS23,

I am on the same boat as you. I saw an ad on cragilist on a vehicle and message via craiglist. An individual emailed me back from Chaika Global Cars, I checked their website and everything is there. I tried calling them back at their number, email them from different emails asking about a few vehicles.

Is it too good to be true? I don't know. I am on the same boat as you. I googled review them and some reviews from 2017 and way back in 2007-2009 said that they are legit but I am still hesistant to dealt with them. I have never heard of them.

I don't want to lose over $20,000 +.... Some photos of the vehicle on their website looks legit like real people pictures but some photos are photos found on google image and sports auto website. I keep messaging them back on that too and reference the google image, I emailed one of the salesperson the google image been 2 days not nothing back. I am currently emailing talking with a different person from the same company Chaika on the same car on preverfication history and we will see if she returend my email shortly here.

I don't know. I might just email them longer and try to figure them out. I don't know if its a buyer-seller-shipping scam. Who knows....??? I tried BBB and don't even find them...

I would say to wait a little longer or maybe try to purchase something very small from their website and see if they are legeit maybe.....For now, I am going to wait. The car and price is too good to be true. A $8,000 for a Black 2000 Acura Integra Type R (LOL).....

What's the saying about things that are too good to be true?

    They usually are.

Kyfdx, negative. I am from Minnesota but found the listing of the car I want in Denver, Colorado but later was contacted by them as you know from Washington.

Anyone from Washington ??? Please verified if they are legit?

Never heard of them. Interesting name, as Chaika was a high end Soviet car, and is also "seagull" in Russian. Weird.

They have an address at a virtual/shared office space in Seattle, no apparent real physical location. They are active in WA SOS as an LLC, if it matters - so they are legit in the most basic way.

Odd listings, some appear to be an expected price, some look suspiciously cheap.

One site claims it is linked to an escrow scam:

    https://db.aa419.org/fakebanksview.php?key=143800

I would tread very cautiously if I was unable to inspect a car in person, from a seller that doesn't have much presence. Maybe search Denver area classifieds to see if you can find the listing you are looking for, and confirm it actually exists, and maybe even look in the background of the photos to see if it even looks like Colorado - I've seen Seattle scam ads with pics obviously not from here.

    Thank you Sir Fintail!

I believe it might be a scam as well.. My own investigation here below...

I saw the ad of a 2000 Milano Red Honda Civic si through Denver, Colorado Craiglist so I message it.
Nothing is left with Chaika information on the craiglist ad. Chaika contacted me by email.

Here is the link to the car ad on cragilist: https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/denver-2000-honda-civic-si/7136239318.html

I have seen the photo before because it is one of my hard to find classic vehicle for imports for years now that I have been searching for. If you have one please message me directly if it's hdiing in your garage, hahaha :).

This car was sold at bringatrailer.com in 2018. Please see link: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-honda-civic-11/

    Chaika Global Car's wesbite: https://chaikaglobalauto.com/?pid=view&vid=11323

(Note: Chaika wrote 2001 Honda Civic Si but they model don't come 2001 only 1999 and 2000.)

(Same photos and information from all sites) I know Bringatrailer is Legit so...Things don't add up with Chaika...Fishy...

You can also also find these photos on google search if you searched for: 2000 Red EM1 or 2000 Red Honda Civic Si

Good detective work there. Funny thing, that Civic was one of their listings that caught my eye as being suspect, given the blue one that just brought 50K on BaT.

And the chutzpah - they even used the original BaT pics in the CL ad. Crazy. That answers the question though - run, don't walk.

Don’t buy a car from Chaika Global Cars. They are a scam. I took the leap of faith and tried buying a car from them and never received the car. They stopped returning my phone calls and emails.

I don't know. Maybe get the FEDS involve but Chaika(THEY) might not even be in the United States. They might be working from different countries using different international banks and IP addresses. They would probably make them untracable where they would just close things down after a couple months, lay low for couple months and make another website and target differet group of people again. The ever ending cycle....

I was also scammed 7100.00 from Chaika global auto. In mid June of 2020 I was attempting to buy a 2004 Lexus is300. Everything seemed legit throughout the buying process: They sent me a valid vin#, wrote up what seemed to be a legitimate contract, carfax was legit. I transferred the funds from my savings account to the bank account they gave me. (We both had the same bank...Bank of America). After the funds were transferred i never heard back and they wouldn't return calls. My bank had informed me that the account I had transferred the funds to was closed shortly after they received the funds. Chaikaglobalauto is still up and running. The car I thought i purchased is also still up for sale. Andreas Werner is supposedly the salesman name and has a Russian or Armenian accent. None of the staff listed in their website even exist as emails come back as non existent. Im currently working with my bank to get my funds returned but not holding out much hope. I wish I would have seen this forum before dealing with these cons. If anybody has any questions regarding this fraudulent site don't hesitate to send me a message at: tdirkdiggler007@aol.com.......you've been warned!

That really sucks! Hopefully your bank can refund that amount back to you. Was your bank able to trace the owner - information??? Because it was from the same bank? Just wondering.... I am sure those name "Andreas Werner" were fake names...but I am sure the bank account must of been done in person atleast which would show the real person's information.

In another note, you can just wait a few more years and get a legal imported Toyota Altezza from Japan (Right Hand Drive) with the 25 years law rule, LOL!!! Add in a 2JZ-GTE and you are all set!

Keep this ad active or flowing so when people google review Chaika Global Cars they would see this first on their browser instead of falling for the scam. Just trying to help others now!!!

There is a review from random people back in 2011 close to 10 years ago stating that Chaika Global Cars is legit and safe, please do not believe them. It is probably fake accounts or scammers making fake posting to make you believe they are legitimate but they are not. It is false and do not buy from Chaika Global Cars. They are scammers.

It is now 07/14/2021 and it seems like their website and scams are done. Their website doesn't work anymore. They took what they got and moved on.

    https://www.chaikaglobalauto.com/

Their website can't be reach. Looks like they have moved on to probably having a different website to scam people all over again. Just becareful guys. If it is too good to be true then it really is, is a scam.
