Options on available inventory 2020 GLC and GLB SUV's

I was looking online at the available dealer inventory and noticed the absence of the Driver Assist Pkg. I saw you can sometimes find the Parking Assist Pkg along with the Premium Pkg but not the DAP. The DAP ones I did find had a whole bunch of other things that quickly added up to much much more and are options I didn't want (and thus don't want to pay for). I only want the Premium Pkg, MultiMedia, Driver Assist. I know I can build and order exactly what I want but was hoping for either a leftover when the 2021 models come out or one that is slightly used.

Do the dealers not get them into inventory because the DAP is not popular or is it very popular and they cannot keep them on the lot?

I thought maybe people would want all the safety features provided in the DAP. Am I wrong? Most not interested?

Also, same thing for the leather? Most of the inventory has the leather simulation.

Hope someone has some answers for me.

Very few MBs come with leather, any more. Especially in the lower priced models

No info on your other options.

On these particular models, DAP and leather are indeed rare - I think MB does this to keep MSRP low, which means lower lease prices. I suspect used inventory will be similar - relatively small amount of GLC/GLB with DAP and probably even fewer with leather, as many people don't mind MB Tex. The same will hold true for C-class sedans - good luck finding one on the lot with either, not to mention both. Even on E300/350 which usually sticker for a bit more, those are uncommon options. You may have to do a special order, or at best, have a dealer scour regional or nationwide inventory to find what you want.

The more important option is the Driver Assistance rather than the leather. When people are buying/building their cars (not ordering) are most people not interested in the DAP as an option? For either model? I would think safety options would be of interest whether or not the model is a higher end or a lower end?

I look at DAP as more of a fun toy than real safety. It can be overly cautious and kind of intrusive (I have a car with DAP, and I don't always use it - it can be annoying in moderate traffic). It is nice in lighter traffic or in stop and go quagmire, however. I have mixed feelings on such systems, as I don't have a high opinion of the competence of many drivers, and if they become dependent on these systems, it won't be pretty.

I think many simply don't want to pay for it, and it might even be intimidating tech for a subset of buyers. I think the MB range already has some safety nannies like lane departure and emergency braking as virtually standard anyway.
