What's the price difference anyway??I'd appreciate any imput. Thanks
This is a great forum by the way ;-]
Now we have $1700 off MSRP from 'hrn'.
More ???
I bet within a few weeks when supply ramps up, the price will drop very quickly to
INVOICE+$500.
P.S. debbie, I don't know how you got "bad deal" for CX-9. Everyone else is getting INVOICE-$1500. Check out the CX-9 forum.
If want to save a bunch, go for 08.
I understand the 08's are selling for as low as 26k,
but does that include the 3500/2500 incentives?
How much off the invoice??
Will I still get the 2.9% apr w/ the cash incentive?
What is the invoice on the 09?
I truly appreciate your comments ;-] :shades:
You can get 08 EXL in $25-26K, while prepare to pay MSRP or markup above MARP on 09 EXL.
Honda now offers 09 Pilot --- 4 trims in leasing, net cap-cost are about $2,500 off MSRP
LX, EX (2WD, 4WD), .... nothing yet on EXL, Touring
Thanks a bunch :confuse:
09' has it all over the 08'. It comes down to money, the 09' will cost more.
I want it to be worth something in 5 - 7 years if and when I go to resell it.
By the way, Honda (at least by me) is now offering 4yr/48,000 bumper-bumper warranty--another selling point.
$ 800 over invoice is more than acceptable for me.
It feels much bigger and more masculine than my wifes 2007 Pilot- I like that. I am 6 foot and there is plenty of room for me to adjust the seat so that my head isn't hitting the ceiling- something that annoyed me when I drove the Sequoia. The drivers seat felt much roomier for some reason and my wife commented that the center console was much larger than hers. Very easy to get comfortable in and a very smooth ride compared to the 2007.
I told them that I liked it but wouldn't be buying until the price dropped down closer to invoice (internet sales person). She said right now they are doing $1500 over invoice but that could change depending on the economy and demand. I really love my current car so I can afford to be patient- I'll see where they are at in a month or so.
Seems like the Honda designer have something to say (about controversial design) -

If they are at the dealers already, it shouldn't be too much longer before the '09 invoice info gets out there.
BTW - Couldn't agree more on the NAV issue. When will manufacturers begin including this as an option on mid-level trims???
Transmission is usually rated by how much torque it can handle. Usually the margin is very large. Most today's transmission can handle up to 350-400ft-lb of torque. I won't worry about it. The other factor is cooling. When towing, you need more cooling for the fluid (larger transmisson fluid cooler).
The transmission on the new Pilot is basically the same old 5-speed that has been infamous of having problems lubricating some gears. I sold my '01 Odyssey (traded it in for a CX-9) when I detected the 1st sign of transmission problem at 85K miles. It happened in snowy cold weather when the gear became very slow to engage. On warm weather, it didn't happen. When it was newer, it didn't happen either. While I couldn't be sure that it was the transmission problem (early sign) or simply cold transmission fluid, I was not ready to take the risk of an expensive transmission replacement.
Honda really needs a 6-speed transmission to keep up with others. DOHC won't hurt either in place of the SOHC they have been using on V6 engines (cost cutting, I am sure).
I went ahead and contacted every Honda Internet dept. in metro Atlanta to get drive out prices. Four places in which I actually spoke with a person gave me $36,800+. Carey Paul Honda gave me a price of $34,724.34 drive out price (tax, tag, title, lemon law included). I had to contact him again to be perfectly sure. Honda Carland was the next dealership I contacted and she thought that price was a rue to get us into the dealership. She contacted me within 10 minutes offering $34,499 drive out price. She is also verifying whether the .9% APR they are offering includes this vehicle. I am still contacting each of the Honda dealerships to see if they can beat it.
Sorry for the stupid question. We are looking at a 09 honda pilot touring, and want to research quotes from local internet dealers I'm seeing people post about.
How do I locate them? Thanks!

Also, on Honda's website they have a link to find a dealer. It has numbers included. Check it out:

I tried a radius of 75 miles Honda dealers 95828 zip code, returned 30 Honda dealers.

I am sure your data is questionable.
A typo, maybe?
This is supposed to be a car talk group, not a financial site ...
Very new to this approach - thanks for your patience and advise.
Don't expect each of them will reply. If it is a form that require you input info like Tel No., in the remark section, tell then "DO NOT CALL" reply in email please. With email reply, you have ample time to list them out. Phone calls are always sales technique that give them advantage & give yourself the pressure. I know some will still call, but I have caller ID to identify junk calls or anyone I know. Even I answer the call by any chance, I will politely tell the sale guy to respond by email, then hang up.
Ask every dealer the same question/quote in a template like email, that is "drive out-of-the-door" price, same trim, same options, and/or colors w/1st & 2nd choice.
Ask them to email breakdown the charges, fees as well. Compare apple to apple.
Make sure mention they're no demo, odometer should be less than 40 miles. Even a swap, they should find the swap nearest that they can locate. Swap fee should be inside the "O-T-D" price. Let them earn your biz.
Well, buying the rig is a big part of car ownership ... but, we do have a Honda Pilot Prices Paid and Buying Experience discussion that's ideal for talking deals and dealers.
Check out Out The Door (OTD) Pricing questions too.
Now that 2009 is out in the open, I believe this thread should be locked now.
Agree?
