I have a 97 Dodge Neon. I have been trying to locate the Day Time running lights module. I have been told it is anywhere from under the Left front fender to under the radiator, behind the glove box and behind the radio.
I know what it looks likes, but have not been able to locate it. Can anyone please tell me the easiest way to find it and change it

    Thanks in advance

I just purchased a 97 Geo Metro in August from a car dealer for $3500..I've owned the car 3 months, and went to get tabs for it and then licensing told me I had to go thru emissions..It failed..Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1 was the code..Had appt at Pep Boys and went in..The were taking info from me as the Mechanic walked by and saw my slip and told me he would NOT work on my car cuz the problem was the catalytic converter was bad and that they didnt do that there. He recommended me go to Walts..Instead my dad recommended I go to Midas..Midas checked the catalytic converter and said it was fine and nothing wrong with it..I went back to Pep Boys and talked to another mechanic and he told me the same thing that it was the catalytic converter and I told him that I took it to Midas and they told me catalytic was good no problem..he told me to take it to Walts..I went to leave the parking lot and my car wouldnt go in reverse..Took few minutes of messing with gear..Finally backed up..Going home the driving gears didnt want to shift (automatic) so I made it home in low gear..My dad came over and checked transmission fluid and it was empty..He added fluid and now the car wouldnt go in reverse this morning but did once this evening long enough to back into the driveway..Car doesnt want to change driving gears, but does eventually..Is transmission going out or my dad thinks it could be clogged up and needs the transmission flushed out and new fluid added? Come someone help?

I looked at the topics in the Chevrolet Metro/Geo Metro group and didn't find anything directly related to your problems. I recommend going there (just click the link above) and click on the "Add a Discussion" link on that page to create a topic or two that fit your needs. Usually, a knowledgable member will come along and help you out.

I am going to purchase a new '07 Camry SE. I am interested in the special handling package available on the SE. The dealer is telling me I cannot get the special handling package without buying the moon roof! Is this true? If so, I hate the way the manufacturers bundle options, forcing folks to get options they really do not want.

Does anyone have any thoughts about the handling option? Is it worth the money if I am going to be doing normal driving?

I bought this trk in early june, and soon after I heard people saying bad things about the 6.0 disel engine. I was a happy camper, but it only lasted for 5 months. Yesterday we were driving down the fwy and we started to loose power. It went on for about a mile, then it died in the middle of 4 way lane during rush hour. But we were able to pull to the side and try to find out what the problem was">. The engine was turning but it never start. Please, does anybody know what is it that I am about to face?

I used the Basic Lease Calculator on Edmunds to determine how reasonable a deal I was offered for a car I'm leasing. I put in the MSRP, residual number, money factor ... basically everything. The dealer's offer was dead on with the number the calculator came back with so it seemed like a good deal. The dealer did not have the color I wanted with the base package, but they did have one with the premium package and he would give it to me for $10 more a month (which for 24 months is only $240 for a $1150 package). I actually saw the residual number the dealer used. It was 1% higher (70%) than the original number on the base package which makes sense.

So, I came back in and put in the new numbers. My price only went up by $240, wherease the MSRP went up by $1150. I plugged in the 70% residual number but used the same money factor. According to the calculator, my payments should have gone down by almost $30 a month. By getting a more expensive package, my payments should go down instead of up? Logically, this does not make sense. I see how the number came up though. Since the residual of the car is much higher now, I shouldn't have to offset as much with my payments. But still logically it is crazy to think I should pay less for adding options when all the other terms remain the same....

....except for the money factor. I'm wondering if the money factor should be adjusted, since now the MSRP and residual have increased. How do I determine the adjustment to the money factor in this case, if in fact that is the cause of the illogical reduction in monthly payment?

Thanks for your help - this site has really helped my leasing experience.

OK. This question is not actaully model specific, but the actual money factor I guess is. Thanks.

A dealership bought out the last 9 months of my leased truck. They kept using the buy out figure like they were doing me a favor when it came to negotiating on another truck. My question is.....Does a dealership (of the same manufacturer as my vehicle) have to pay any more money to anyone for the vehicle I turned over to them? Or do all they have to pay is the remaining lease amount?

I was in an accident last week in which it was completely the other person's fault. The police report, my witness, and even the tow truck guy concur. Before contacting my insurance co., i called hers and filed a claim, and i am now in a rental car being billed directly to them. the problem is, when i contacted my insurance co. i found out that my policy had been cancelled before the time of the accident. so what is my next step, and how will this situation pan out? i want to be prepared as well as know what i am (and am not) entitled to. any info is much appreciated.

I just heard that some sporty cars should avoid deep puddles. Tho Cabrios are not that low-slung, it seems to depend how low the air intake is. In bigger cars they are high in the engine compartment. Who knows where it is in my 2000 Cabrio?
  • tidestertidester Member Posts: 10,059

I have a 92 GEO Metro, 3 cyl, 5 speed, throttle body. It has been running fine and now when I try to start it the spark plugs get flooded with fuel. I have to pull the plugs and open the throttle body to let it air out to start it, or I have to pinch off the fuel line before the throttle body to get it to start with out flooding. After it starts it runs fine. Any one know what would cause it to flood the spark plugs? I get no error codes when I jump the code terminals and turn the key on. THANKS!

    I leased a 2007 Escalade 3 weeks ago.

After one week "service battery charging system" appeared. Service dept at dealership said the alternator (sp?) needed to be replaced. OK, they did that. (they told me anytime you purchase a new vehicle there is a chance of a part being bad...)

One week later, My husband and I are heading out of town...driving down the interstate and all of a sudden my horn starts randomly beeping. Before we could pull over it starts blowing continuously! We are sitting ont he side of the road with our horn BLARING! We called the dealership.. They walked my husband through removing the fuse for the horn. They suggested we bring it right in to be looked at. But obviously we cant do that since we are on our way out of town. The sevice tech then told us that there may be some sort of relay that would cause the battery to go dead if we left the horn fuse out. ???? But we had no choice.
Immediatly after we began driving again the xm radio starts going crazy and skipping around. You can imagine how mad we are at this point! Throughout the weekend, the radio would work for 5, 10, maybe 15 minutes and then it would start skipping around to different stations again.
To try and make this long story short, the owner of the dealership called us and made arrangements to have the vehicle picked up today at our house and a loaner dropped off while they try and get to the bottom of the problem.

UNBELIEVABLE! The past 5 years I have driven a BMW x5 and a Lexus Gx470. I have never once had to take either in for any type of reapair other than scheduled maintenance!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem here may be? It seems to be something electrical.. If that is the case... how will they fix it? I am to the point that I dont want "that" vehicle anymore. It seems as though it has some serious problems! The sticker price on this Escalade was $68,000. That is too much money to have inconveniences like these.

    Any comments / suggestions appreciated!

    Hi,

I need some advice. I have a chance to purchase a 1976 Dodge Dart Lite W/ 60k miles, slant six, 4 speed manual trans in very good condition. The car drives perfect, near perfect interior and has all the aluminum parts that came OE from the factory. It has minor rocker panel rust, otherwise has all OE equipment that all works. From what I understand, only 50 of these Lites were produced.

Do you think 16K is too much to pay for this car?

    Thanks, E.M.

I just bought a 2003 Acura TL TypeS w/ 31000 miles on it still factory warranty. But the Radio will not play of course because asking for CODE. The Dealer I bought it from was Independent Dealer and does not know the code. Need to know how to find Serial # for radio to get code before I go to dealer and pay to pull radio just to get serial #. Need some tunes...... :(
  • Mr_ShiftrightMr_Shiftright Member Posts: 64,481
Have you looked through the owner's manual, page by page. Some people write it down in there.

The code won't be on the radio. The dealer doesn't have to pull the radio---he can sometimes just look up the code...but you'll have to show proof of ownership in person and he may charge you to do this (or he may not).
  • 2003acuratl2003acuratl Member Posts: 3
I have looked in the owners manual and nothing is writen down i have called my local dealer and gave them the VIN# and they stated they need the serial # in order to find the code. This is what the dealer is telling me, they also stated that I needed to find the dealer who originally sold the car to get the serial # with out pulling the Radio.
