You multiply the MF by 2400 to get the equivalent APR.

So holy crap, that's north of 5.5%. why would anyone take that? Maybe an ignorant question, but I don't get it, why would anyone lease when you can just purchase with 100% financed at let's say 2.1%... what am I missing here

When you lease, you lock in the depreciation amount. When you buy, and sell after 3 years, you are subject to market forces that may be to your benefit, or detriment.

And, lots of folks are leasing with those rates....

In the end, the only thing that matters is the payment/total cost on a lease. If the high MF is offset by a very high residual, and you end up with a reasonable lease payment, then how the payment is allocated doesn't matter.

If your goal is to own the vehicle, probably shouldn't lease in the first place.

US Bank leases are fine, if you take them to maturity. But, they restrict what you can do, if you want to sell the car to get out of the lease.
