I'm trying to understand how to interpret this lease quote for a Q5e 55PP, as it seems high. Negotiated price of $57,467.94, the 6712 tax credit and 2000 Costco discount, for a sale price of $48,755.94. When I do my calculations with 7% sales tax, I get a total payment of $569.32, the dealer is saying it's $597. What am I missing or are they hiding something in plain sight? What is Total Tax Window, and why is amount due at start/total working cash so high? I only agreed to inception fees. Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much for explaining, I wasn't accounting for me paying tax on the rebate, so even though the $6712 is a fed rebate, I still pay tax on that and the $2,000 off from Costco?

I was just adding monthly depreciation and monthly finance, and calculating monthly taxes on that amount.
Also the 2950 in cash is only supposed to cover fees (which seem crazy high), I was concerned they were applying it towards cap cost.

In the end, it doesn't matter.. Anything that isn't applied towards a fee, is applied as a CAP cost reduction. Either way, it comes out the same.

Any customer incentive is taxable, regardless of what name it has.

Customer incentives are applied like a down payment, which is why it's being broken out on your lease quotes.
