IS THIS LEGAL? Subaru offered us a 3yr/36K Lease for a 2021 Outback Ltd. XT, (no add-ons) $40,035, + $699 documentation fee + $2,499 down @ $399/mo. However, the MSRP for a 2021 Outback Ltd. XT is $37,995 (Subaru.com). According to our credit union, Subaru is basing their lease on a price higher than MSRP because there aren't any of these vehicles on the local lots and it would need to be ordered. Any advice? D, RALEIGH NC 27607.

There may be factory or dealer installed options and accessories that would increase the MSRP.

Is there no discount on the MSRP?

Decided to wait till mid to late 2021 hoping more Outback XT's are produced. Frustrated.

There is a global computer chip shortage which is affecting production of almost every make and model.

Short inventory means higher prices.
