$0 down, NY Sales tax included in monthly payments

$770 a month

Is that a fair price? The dealer is claiming that with the cash back bonus I can't get 0% APR, so he's using a 3.62% APR.

NYS tax is 8.625% but I'm getting seeing conflicting information if they charge this over the sale price, or the sale-residual (monthly payments). I believe it should be monthly payments ($653*36 + $3,500) * 8.625% = $2,329 + $1384 misc fees = $3,713. So adjust cap cost is $61,925.

The lease bonus is to the dealer and is untaxed.

But, your approach is correct - NY taxes the sum of the payments, the taxable incentives and the dealer and acquisition fees.

One thing to note - if you roll the taxes into the monthly payment, the taxes get taxed again, due to a quirk in NY law. We recommend you pay the taxes up front, along with the first payment and registration costs, at signing.

For $770 it's $0

If I want to pay the sales tax upfront, I just got these numbers in: $693.01 (36M) with $3300.00 DRIVE OFF

Seems like a reasonable deal for this model.
