Do you guys have any info on the polestar lease programs? Seems like it might be similar to tesla with essentially no negotiation and a poor MF.

It’s the new electric car. Polestar will be the Volvo brand for them, going forward.

I know there is a waiting list; have deliveries started?

But, your comparison to Tesla is probably spot on.

I went into the showroom today and took one for a test drive, and they are happy to take your money! I've seen a few around town, deliveries have started. The salesperson told me its a two month lead time to get one right now.

FYI the lease calculator on their website does not take into account any of the federal or state clean air programs.
In CA this should qualify for $9000 to dealer ($7500 federal, $1500 CA Clean Fuel Reward) and $2000 post-sale rebate from CVRP. This makes it a very good sell against the Tesla.

Keep in mind the Lucid Air comes out next year as well so it may be worth waiting.

Federal tax credits go to the owner on a lease (Volvo Finance). If Volvo is passing them along, it will be included in any rebate offered. As a lessee, you do not qualify for the Federal tax credit.

FWIW, I have a friend who has ordered a Polestar 2 and he will be leasing it.

The numbers he was quoted for a 39/12 lease were .00089 and 63%. No idea if this number is regional or national.

MF: 0.00013 (Seems surprisingly low? Or is this MF normal given recent interest rates on the market?)
Vehicle base price: 59,900 (bare minimum configuration from website)
Total obligation: 62k (base + fee + tax - CA clean fuel rebate)
Residual value: 39k
Payment: 643.2/month
Upfront payment: 500

No mentions on the 7500 federal incentive nor the 2000 CVRP rebate.
Does this look like a good deal?

The Federal tax credit is only for the owner of the vehicle. If there is a rebate from the state, you'd apply for that, after the fact.
We don't have the lease parameters for the Polestar, but I'll assume they include some sort of incentive, in lieu of the Federal tax credit.
We do have a member that recently acquired a Polestar (by lease, I think). But, it was definitely in a previous month.

For the Federal tax credit, I checked with the sales rep and turns out it will indeed go to the owner (Polestar Financial Services) and the owner is already passing it to the lessee implicitly through low MF and high residue value. Look like there wouldn't be any more rebates on top of the quoted numbers

Does amount of down payment impact pricing? Can put whatever down but generally on leases I prefer to put the least amount required - if it is ever totaled or stolen my insurance doesn't refund my down payment.

Down payment does not impact pricing, and I avoid doing it on leases for exactly the reason you state.
