Lease Deal Basics

I’m new here. I leased one car (2017 Acura MDX) and plan to lease my next car which is likely to be an X6 or MB GLE AMG Coupe.

I have been building, pricing, and getting ESTIMATED LEASE PAYMENTS on the corporate websites. Suddenly Sunday morning, the BMW estimated lease payments doubled. I started looking for any news to explain it and found this site.

My questions are...
1. Is there an alternative to dealer leases
2. It’s a winter car, so I’m looking for a 30 or 42 month low mileage lease and plan to return the car at the end of the lease. I’ve heard of an option that allows you to pay more and as long as there aren’t any dents, you can just drop the car off at the end of the lease. Is this an option for BMW’s?
3. Does anyone know why the BMW estimated lease payments doubled?
4. Is there a post with lease basics I can read?

Thanks

    1. You can work with a broker, who will do all the heavy lifting for you
    2. Most leases are closed end, which means you drop the car off at the end of the term and walk away
    3. No

Perfect - how do I find a good lease broker?

#3: BMW only incentivizes 36 month leases. If you entered a 30 or 42 month term, you'll get a bad number.

Mercedes on the other hand, usually has decent progams for 42 or 48 months.
