Experiences With Buying Two Cars At Same Time At Same Dealership

So my wife and I are looking for new cars . Mine is paid off, hers is almost paid off … so we each have a trade-in.

The question is has anyone purchased two new cars at the same time? I mean walk into a dealer ship and buy two new cars one for yourself, and one for another family member right there ? I ask because she thinks that we will get “a better deal”, but I don’t think the amount saved will be that much because there is a set amount on price that the dealer can’t go below . So I just don’t think it’s worth it. I think she should wait until the end of the year and then consider buying a new car while I myself am looking. We are considering Toyota dealer to do this if we do because we both like the RAV4.

The dealer doesn’t look at it as a combined transaction - to them, it is two separate transactions.

And, given the current market conditions, you’ll be lucky to get any discount from MSRP on either.

@spock072 If there were any "bonus" savings, it certainly wouldn't make up for buying a car before you absolutely need it.

If anything the complexity of making two deals at once is likely to cause something to slip by you.
