I'm in Texas, and sales tax is 6.25% and registration is about $200. I went to the dealership wanting an SV for $30K out the door (including TTL). They counter-offered $30,800 and I did not agree. Should I have pulled the trigger?

Thanks so much! Me & my cousin went with two Kira EV EX /cold package leases yesterday. Had two dealers in the Washington, DC area w/ multiple of these models in stock, we went with the one willing to do a little below sticker in exchange for buying both.

Honestly would have preferred the Nissan Leafs because at this price point, the Kia Niro EV EX trim doesn't have as much stuff as the Nissan leaf SL Plus. But the kia seemed to have just much better leasing terms so had to go that route.

I just did a 10K/24 month lease on a 2022 S+ in 04021. I've done a lot of research and no one seems to be discounting them other than the $2100 lease cash. As you probably know, the market has changed dramatically from two years ago. Hopefully it will come back to being a buyer's market.

Here is where I ended up...I paid MSRP minus $2100 and got the MF of .00022 from one dealer and the other dealer wouldn't offer that MF to me. He offered me .00122. When I asked him why he was doing that, he said that since they aren't selling the car above MSRP like other dealers, he felt they could make it up on the MF. I told him he might as well just sell it above MSRP b/c it was accomplishing the same goal but looked worse since he was trying to hide it.

So, here is where I ended up...

2022 S+ - 24 months, 10K miles
MSRP = $33,895
Rebate = $2100
Doc Fee/Etc. = $649
Acq. Fee = $650 - I know they just added it in for extra profit, but they wouldn't take it out.
Taxes = $908.31
Monthly = $342 with zero down

I had a Maxima I traded in and got ~ $3300 additional over RV that I put toward it. So, ended up with a monthly of $182, zero out of pocket except first month. When you add in the home charger I installed, add in the cost to charge, pull out the cost of gas, it ends up being right around $142 per month. And, I'm doing my part of the environment. It's mostly an around town car, so it's a no brainer for me.
