Toyota Residual Values

I read on this site, that Toyota Residual Values are based off Starting / Base MSRP(without Accessories & Packages) instead of Total MSRP (with Accessories & Packages). Can anyone confirm this?

That is not true.

Residual is always based off the total MSRP - bottom line number of the factory window sticker, with all options, packages and destination charges.

Actually, depending on where you live, this may be the case. Southeast Toyota Finance is pretty famous for this.

In times past, TFS also didn't use the full MSRP.

I've read this exact same thing on older post, on this site. That is why I made this thread. I'm wondering, if this very thing, is going on in my (NJ)area. I'm in the market for a new Tacoma Limited & have put together some numbers & I seem to be way off. I've gotten Residual numbers from here(for a 3yr/15K lease) & I question whether they match up? I've also expressed, to contacted dealers, that I'm not willing to pay a mark up!!!!

Chances are, they are adding excessive fees, and possibly marking up the money factor. That's more likely than the MSRP/residual not matching up.

It's possible that TFS has an maximum MSRP they'll residualize, and if they do, that's more likely to come into play on a highly optioned trim, like the Limited.

But, unless the dealer shows all the numbers with their quote, you won't know.
