    Question: if a car dealer advertises an "internet price" that is 10% off MSRP before the $7500 lease cash, how do I account for that in Edmunds Lease Calculator? I put their "internet price" in the "selling price before incentives" line, is that right? I took that to mean the same as the "negotiated selling price" in the calculator FAQ.

    I went into a dealership with their internet price printed out, but the monthly payments they are coming back with are still a couple hundred more than I expected, even after they took out the cost of dealer installed accessories.

    Yes, that's correct that you put their internet price in the "selling price before incentives" field assuming it doesn't factor in the $7500 lease cash.

    Were you rolling the sales tax into the lease payment or paying it up front? I just want to make sure you accounted for it in your lease calculation if you rolled it into the monthly payment. I would ask them to show you their monthly payment calculation so you can figure out where the difference is. Specifically I'd verify that the selling price is their internet price and the money factor is the base money factor. I'm wondering if they marked up the money factor which dealers are allowed to do or if they lied about the discount off MSRP.

    Thanks. I was putting down $2000 to cover at least part of the taxes and fees. I asked about the money factor but they would not tell me specifically. They tried to tell me at first that their internet price did not apply to leases; they didn't want to give the dealer internet price discount plus the lease cash. Then they started coming down gradually but still not to where I thought it should be.

    It's just an advertisement. They can make it mean whatever they want it to mean...

    It sounds like they're playing games and don't want to be transparent with you. I'd search for a different dealer because many are discounting EV6s and many will work deals over phone/email.

    I meant to commend you in my previous response for verifying their monthly payment calculation because a lot of people don't do that. They get the discounted price from the salesperson and assume that's what the F&I office will put in the lease paperwork. I've negotiated numerous leases where dealers didn't use the agreed discounted price in the lease calculation to try and take advantage of me but I caught them because I knew what the monthly payment should be. Unfortunately many people don't check the numbers on the lease paperwork and just sign it so dealers know they can get away with charging people a higher price.

    Also Kia dealers are notorious for having a horrible reputation (see here: https://jalopnik.com/customers-are-really-not-impressed-with-kia-dealers-1849915387). I had a bad experience with Nemet Kia in Queens, NY in Dec 2016 and they reached a settlement with the NY Attorney General for deceptive sales practices in June 2018 and by early 2020 Nemet lost their Kia dealership.

    All dealers can offer it. If they give you a higher rate, tell them you want the base rate.

    Thanks. The MF dropped by quite a bit since last month but also the residual percentage dropped by 2% and that's obviously because the 2024s are out so the RV on a 2023 at this point needs to be lower.
