    I'm currently negotiating a 2024 Volkswagen Atlas SEL Premium R-Line. Here is the negotiation info

    MSRP: $55,471
    Selling Price: $51,471
    RV: 62%
    MF: 0.00186
    Term: 36 Month
    Mileage: 10K/year
    Taxes: $3,216
    Reg/Doc: $353
    Monthly Payments: $760
    Money Down: $0
    Location: Houston, Texas

    However, Edmunds Lease calculator is showing me a monthly payment of $658 using the same selling price, RV, MF, taxes, and term.

    Where is the extra $102 a month is coming from the dealer? Also is this a good deal $760/m?

    My guess is that the selling price is not the same as the adjusted cap cost. Ask the dealer what cap cost they are using for their payment quote, and how they arrived at that number from the selling price.

    I pay taxes and fees. Nothing is rolled towards the monthly payments. I was clear on that. Initially they marked up the MF to 0.00240, then down to base, then from $900 something monthly payment to $760.

    OK, so when you say "zero money down", that isn't the same as "zero money out of pocket".

    Using your prices, I get $634/mo. I'd still get the adjusted cap cost, to see how it's different from the selling price. You'd be surprised what the dealer might try to slip in.

    Is RV better on a 4motion Atlas with Tech compared to a FWD with Atlas Tech with sunroof? A dealer has had the later FWD since September and wondering why and if I should go for it instead of the 4motion no sunroof.
