What, specifically, is part of the $2000 up front cash? I would expect the cap cost to be lower, especially with the incentive.

Plugging in your prices, I get $583/mo before tax - I'd love to see a copy of the dealer lease worksheet to understand how they came up with the $435/mo quote. If it's legit, I'd take it, right now.

I'd be curious to know the Adjusted CAP cost.

The adjusted cap cost is the selling price plus any taxes or fees you aren't paying up front.

Ask them for a screen shot of their internal lease worksheet; that will include all the numbers used in the payment calculation.

You want to know where every penny is going. It doesn't seem you know exactly the amount Due at Signing, either.

I don't see a "due at signing" amount on that worksheet - just an itemized list of fees, with no idea if they are paid for up front or part of the adjusted cap cost.

If I subtract the $6500 and $979 from the "cap cost", and add the fees, I don't get the "adjusted cap cost" number they show.

It's just math - make them explain how they arrived at their numbers.

I love some of the way they put things.
$6500 in "deal contributions" is $4500 rebate and $2000 from you.
$41,063 "CAP COST" is the selling price

The hard part is the adjusted CAP cost. If we start at the top, do the subtractions, then the additions, it adds up to about $940 less than the number they come up with. ($35226 vs $36,166)

The only way I can make it work, is to assume that $2000 is the total amount DAS, and the first payment comes out of that, and maybe upfront sales tax on the $4500 rebate and trade-in equity?

Using their adjusted CAP (even though it doesn't match the numbers above it), I get a payment of $409.54+tax = $435/mo. So, we know the math is right on the payment, and the money factor isn't marked up.

If, as I noted, the total amount DAS is $2000, including 1st payment, then it all makes sense. But, I'd ask them about the discrepancy in the adjusted CAP. And, if it's just $2000 DAS (plus your equity), then this is a really nice deal. Big rebates, plus a big discount, and no markups.
