Cheapest 87, Arco,etc-still 1.31. Highest major brands now 1.38 for 87. Add .10 per gallon for 89 and 92. This is about a 30 cent a gallon increase since January. Sounds fishy to me too...

Speedway at corner of Ann Arbor Road & Sheldon Road is $1.40 per gallon of 87-octane. Best value between Rochester Hills and Ann Arbor for University of Michigan student driving at warp speed with 13.2 gallon gas tank. No, it's very fuel efficient... 1.8L.

$1.40 is low end in Detroit area now, at least in areas I know. $1.50s not uncommon.

But it seems like gas here on the north side of Chicago has actually gone down a bit in the last few days? Is this possible, or wishful thinking? I'll post prices tonight after I actually leave the house.
  • ghuletghulet Member Posts: 2,564
Most of the local Amocos (and Shells, which are inevitably across the street) are at $1.729/1.829/1.929, which is actually down about six cents from two weeks ago.

Up to 1.79/87 after a few weeks at 1.77

Jersey prices are about forty to fifty cents less than on the north side of Chicago.

This should keep gasoline cheaper than botteled water here in the U.S...

pretty much like $1.65/1.75/1.85 here in sunny Chicago.
  • lariat1lariat1 Member Posts: 461
Starting to creep up in Alaska. We had a low of $1.43 for 87 and now we are back up to $1.49 and rising. With any luck the recent court battles over price fixing by the oil companies will slow down the rise.

  • akanglakangl Member Posts: 3,281
Where are you paying $1.49? We filled the V-10 up yesterday at the Parks Hwy Chevron, was only $1.44 there.
  • lariat1lariat1 Member Posts: 461
Silly me I had to fill up in North Pole NEXT TO THE REFRINERY!!!! I believe it is $1.53 now. I went into town today and I think it was $1.47 at Fred meyer.
  • akanglakangl Member Posts: 3,281
Imagine that, its higher next to the refinery. This is nuts I swear. Gas is $1.71 in Nenana and that's many miles from the refinery. Bunch of theives!!

    Freddy Boom-Boom Cannon...

The truck stop is on US 46 westbound, but from the same point on 45 east, take the Broad Avenue exit, keep straight on East Columbia Avenue, make a slight left onto NJ 5 east, and it takes you right to the Winston Towers, the apartment complex that replaced the amusement park.

I miss it too, Sneaks - Great Adventure isn't quite the same, and Coney Island takes forever to get to.

(on topic) price hasn't changed yet

Just paid $1.479 for Hess 87 - $1.539 for Mobil 87 and $1.749 for Mobil 93..... and it seems the sky's the limit. Isn't is funny that the first week of spring the heating oil prices start to drop and the gasoline prices start to climb..... but there's no price fixing out there...... right????

    Non branded 87 : 1.479

I haven't been out yet this morning, but on Wed I paid $125.9 for 87. Normally as we approach a holiday weekend we get a jump in the price.

Geez, fuel prices are high here in SE Michigan recently. Not good, because I need a full tank of fuel today after yesterday's "fast and furious."

$1.47 per gallon for 87-octane at the Plymouth Road Speedway station. Guaranteed to always be the greatest ripoff in town, and they always insist you prepay.

87 octane on the north side is currently $1.569. I'm glad I'm not just 'imagining' that gas in Chicago is quite pricey, compared to almost everywhere but northern CA.
