I leased an 24 Audi E-Tron GT Premium Plus back in February. This was the original contract with the $7500 tax credit, $17500 lease cash, and $1000 military cash. The one pay was calculated to $7072.84, which I paid.
The dealer reached out a few days ago saying the deal wasn't funded. At first they said the rebates couldn't be applied the way it was structured in the contract and had to be moved over to the cash due at signing and that only the federal tax credit could remain in the incentive/rebate block of the contract due to how their software works. When I asked why the rebates couldn't be used as a cap cost reduction, they told me that there was negative depreciation (there isn't). They then tried to convince me that the $17500 lease cash and the $1000 military rebate were "dealer cash" that goes straight to the dealership and that even though the new contract says $25310.04, the dealership is the one paying the remainder of $25310.04 - $7072.84 = $18237.20 from the "dealer cash" they are receiving from Audi USA. This is the revised contract below.
Are the $17500 lease cash and $1000 military cash rebates that get paid as cash to the dealer? I thought it was a straight credit that was applied to the vehicle.

I don't think military cash is paid to the dealer. It's possible that the $17,500 was dealer cash, last month. I don't recall, but that's bounced around some.
But, if it were dealer cash, then the agreed value would be different (because it would be reflected in a bigger discount), and the sales tax would be less. So, I don't think that's true, either. Sometimes, dealers or banks require that a lease be structured a certain way, because of calculating the sales tax properly. (that might just be the way their computer program is set up).
This 2nd contract doesn't look right. The amount paid in cash should match up with what is actually coming out of your pocket. The dealer cash should be reflected in a lower agreed price, and the sales tax should probably be adjusted down.
I don't see how this contract won't get kicked back.

12 month lease? It's a great deal.
It was also strange as to how the date of the contract changed and it just seems more like there isn't the $17500 + $1000 lease cash being applied and instead just the $7500 federal tax credit is being applied. What a mess, I guess they can have their "used" car back.

They'll eventually get it to go through, I think.. Might have to re-do it, again. As long as you aren't out more money..
