So, if I get a quote that does not reflect these numbers, should I assume they are overselling me? They tried giving me .002MF and slightly higher residual percent as well. Could I go back to them and quote these numbers asking why they are higher?

They can't adjust the residual. If the money factor is higher, and you have top tier credit, then they are marking up the money factor. Tell them you want the base rate.

Question: Is the money factor fixed by Hyundai? Or can it be worse if you credit is not perfect? Or is there a credit score cutoff? I'm trying to figure out what leverage I have to reduce the MF. TIA!!

The MF we quote is the lowest rate for top tier credit.

Lower credit tiers will have a higher rate. The dealer can also mark up the rate for extra profit

What's the likelihood of actually negotiating down to the base money factor? If I have a near-800 credit score, is it possible to actually get close to it? And if so, any tips when walking into the leasing office?

I know the national average interest rate for an "excellent" credit score for leasing new vehicles is around 5.25% which equates to around a 0.0021875 MF.

If I shop a SE AWD in my area, 24 months with 12k miles, the base MF for my zip is around 0.00149.

It seems like they wouldn't go under the national average even for excellent credit. So any advice on how to negotiate even further would be tremendously helpful.

    Thank you!

The national average has nothing to do with any specific lease program. The base rate is set by and provided to the dealer by the leasing bank.

Leases are signed every day at the base rate. I think you can look at the amount of incentives on this vehicle and see that dealers should be happy to get rid of them.

That makes sense. Thanks for the response! It's my understanding that the dealership makes most of their money through the difference in MF, and other things like manufacturer holdbacks, is that correct?

Also, I know that dealerships also stack on sizable Acquisition fees and Doc fees. Are either of these negotiable? And if so, what's the appropriate way to handle that discussion in the leasing office to get a fair fee rate for each of these? I have no clue if there is a "base rate" or something for these extra fees...

Acquisition fee is paid to the bank. Doc fees can vary wildly, and they are certainly a profit center for the dealer. Make sure you know the doc fee before negotiating and account for that in your price negotiations.

Acquisition fees are not negotiable. Technically, the doc fee is negotiable, but it's just easier to shoot for a lower selling price to compensate.

Hey there - I'm looking to get the MF, RV, and incentives for 98023.
    SE and SEL
    24/10 and 36/10 and FWD/AWD for both

    Thank you!

    8 sets of numbers?

    No thanks.

Pare down the request a bit...
Sorry about that, was a little over-zealous. Haven't car shopped in a hot minute and trying to be prepared. Very much appreciate the help!

Just the AWD SEL, 36/10 or 36/12, whichever is best.

    Thanks again!
