    In 06854.

    Negotiating a Prologue Touring AWD. 36/10.

    Presented local dealer with an LH pre-negotiated deal which featured 17k in incentives, as shown below. and $313/mo payment with $3100 DAS composed of first month's, fees, and taxes (on fees, incentives).




    They came down to $336 monthly (36/10). Cap cost is currently at $15,472 but not clear what they used to arrive at that exactly. I negotiated inclusion of hitch mount into the deal with the dealer.

    Asking to confirm:

    1. Applicable incentives in this zip
    2. Where on the dealer disclosure one can expect to see the incentives clearly and accurately applied?
    3. How to confirm taxes are being calculated fairly corrected

    1. I see the $7500, the $5000, the $3500, and the $1000 incentives.
    2. You'll have to ask the dealer that, but my guess is the $5000 and the $1000 will be reflected in the selling price, and the $7500 will be applied like a down payment (cap cost reduction)
    3. Dealers do not want to mess around with tax calculations - that will warrant unwanted attention from the state

    Do you know what the Captive Lease Cash offer is, who/which customers it applies to and if it's still active?

    Is it correct that the buyer/leaser pays all taxes on "taxed incentives", e.g., in the above example, $11k in taxed incentives would equate to $693 (tax rate in CT is 6.35) paid by the customer either at signing or rolled into the monthlies?

    Part of why I'm being inquisitive here is that the dealer, in this case, "forgot" to add in the Conquest offer and only when we pushed them to do better they feigned remembering that we had a Toyota/would qualify.

    Yes, that's the definition of taxed incentives. The customer pays the tax. It's due at lease signing, either by cash or rolled into the CAP cost.

    The untaxed incentives go to the dealer. Any price you negotiate will include those incentives. (because the dealer gets them)

    The dealer doesn't pay the conquest incentive, Honda does. The dealer has no financial benefit to deny you a rebate. And, it has to be disclosed on the lease contract.
