I had a dealer tell me the .00200 is the "buy rate". This is untrue, right? They are only selling new Velars at .0025, which adds about 2500 to a 36 mo lease. The buy rate would actually be lower than .00200?

The rate we give you is the buy rate. That's the lowest rate they can give you. Anything higher than that is a markup for extra profit.

(This is true of every make/model)

Thank you, that is very helpful. Land Rover has lease specials on the Velar at $869/month with $6995 down (plus tax and dealer fees). The only way these numbers work is if they use .00200. I had a dealer give me a discount of $2500 off of MSRP, which is better than most. Almost all of the LR dealers I reached out to wouldn't budge. This dealer offered a nice discount, but then marked up the money factor to completely negate the discount. Very frustrating. I assume dealers do not have to offer the LR national offer money factor.

The "offer" is just an advertisement.

Land Rover dealers are known for being greedy

As noted, dealers are free to adhere to the terms of the "offer", or not.

Seems like you are just collecting numbers - have you test driven any of the cars you've asked about these last few days?

Our bandwidth is limited, and fielding questions from what looks like a casual shopper is something we aren't fond of.

Yes, test drove all of these cars this week including 4 today. The lease terms will make a big difference in my decision; didn't realize there was a limit to my requests, my apologies.

Thanks. Unfortunately my 2024 Nautilus engine blew after only having it for 4 months; so, working with Lincoln to cancel the contract through their buy back program due to the defect. Thus, I have to scramble very quickly to pivot to a new lease and have to make a decision by end of the month; wasn't prepared to be in the market again so quickly; hence, that is why I have been out at many dealers doing test drives and running numbers that you have been provding (very much appreciated - your site is top notch!). I only wish the BMWs had even average lease terms as the X5 was top shelf but the math just doesnt make sense for leasing them.
