What does Volvo USA sell my Volvo to the Dealer for at end of my lease?

Friend’s Volvo lease is coming to an end in November. Her buyout is around $28,500.

What is the dealer actually paying for her car from Volvo Financial? She is interested in buying it but not for $28;500. If someone can help I can provide whatever particulars are needed.

Years ago I bought out my Audi lease where the lease end buyout was about the same but made a deal work with a dealer where I bought it for $1k over their cost which was substantially less than my $29k buyout. I just figure that similar math applies to Volvos.

What happened years ago has no bearing on the lease market today.

I highly doubt your friend will be able to negotiate any discount from the residual price from the original lease contract.

It doesn’t matter what the dealer can buy the car for.

We don't have any way of knowing what Volvo Finance will ask for the car. If she wants to do what you did with your Audi, she should say that to the dealer, just like you did.

There are plenty of online appraisal tools for used cars (even here on Edmunds), so you can see if it's even realistic.
