Hi, may I pls have MF, Residual and Incentives for Onyx and Limited (7 and 8 please) in zip code 91362. 36/12K
Can you provide average cap cost? Thought I’d try. thank you!
Hi! This is for a 2025 Ltd 7 pass 10K lease assuming 62% residual and .00134 MF. I calculate the payment should be around $582, as the fees and hitch are not residualized. The dealer confirmed they are using the base MF of .00134 and the 62% residual is set. Do these numbers appear accurate and is there something may be I am missing? Acknowledging the difference is only about $32 per month, the dealer said they were giving the trade value equal to our residual. I am assuming taxes and fees per month in my calculation of about $90 per month which seems high, but based on zip in the Edmunds calculator (6.25%)
2) Also, is it usual for a dealer to try to get a customer to accept less than residual on a trade? It felt a little off to me but they ultimately conceded. Subaru financial/chase said if they want to buy it, they have to buy it for residual value they state which could be slightly different than ours but only by $100 or so. Obviously the dealer doesn't have to accept the trade, but negotiating to value with me when I could just return it and lease a new one, but maybe face a lease-end bill.

I suspect the "Balance" on the right is not the same as the Adjusted Cap Cost used in the lease payment calculation. For one, I don't see the lease acquisition fee listed anywhere.
Ask for the ACC, and make sure you understand how they arrived at that number.
Have you used Carmax or Carvana to value your trade?

Hi! The non-tax fee is the acquisition fee plus registration/plate fee. I can't recall using Carvana but KBB has fair trade, the likely amount, about $1000 over what is owed at the old lease end. But, I do see used cars there are sitting and listed for not much more than the residual. They won't make a ton on the resale. They say they are using the $43941 (ACC) as the basis for calculating the lease payment, and then the fees+tow hitch are basically divided up over the payments. If that is the case, I can't seem to get my numbers to match theirs.

Then the ACC should include the fees and accessories.
Have them send you a screen shot of their internal lease worksheet; that should include all the numbers we need to figure this out.
What number are you using as the ACC to get $582/mo? I'm not getting anywhere near that using their prices.

Thank you! I asked for the internal sheet and I can post that once they share. I get 582/month by using the 43941 as the ACC. If I use the $45866 to calculate the payment, I get $579. And if I use the $44641 and then add the fees in their separate lines, I get the same $582. Something is off and it is likely on my end. With these numbers, what payment do you get if they are in fact using the base MF and 62% residual?
I modified the Edmunds calculator to not be double counting the registration and other fees, not that $135 would make a difference, and it goes even lower.

Dealer is using either a lower credit tier or a marked up MF for your quote (or, possibly, both).
We don't recommend large down payments for a lease - if the car is stolen or totaled, that money is gone.
What is the MSRP, selling price, and adjusted cap cost?

Using the base MF of .00115 would bring the pre-tax payment down around $55-60/mo.
Have you shopped around to see if you can get a dealer to give you the base MF?

In general, every $1000 down lowers the payment roughly $30/month.
