But hey, what matters is that Mama Bear and the new Baby Bear are healthy and happy! Congrats!
Wait a sec, I was closest on the weight, I said 8 lbs 8 oz, just 4 oz off. I believe I won that category. :-)
The best part is now that Brian won't be getting any sleep, he can post on Edmunds even at 3am! ;-)

Congrats to you and your wife on Brogan's birth!
It's nice to hear good news for a change.
Mark
Congratulations! That's fantastic news. Enjoy the new baby. Erina's already 6 weeks old and she's changed quite a bit since her birthday.
Ken
Serge - What are you going to do now that you've won the Subearu Baby Pool? ;-)

Congratulations to you and your wife!
Oh yeah...and about those sleepness nights & poopy diapers...
At least when Brogan's a teenager you will have lost the poopy diaper part of the equation, LOL!
Seriously, your life has just changed for the better...no doubt about it!
Happy for you and yours in Seattle,
Stephen
Welcome to the planet, Brogan!
Serge, Susan, and Michael
P.S. Buy an extra large garbage can with a VERY tight top!

Congratulations all round to the Bear household.
Coincidentally, I had my almost-ten-year-old daughter snuggled up on my lap as I read through the recent posts and we were talking about her baby brother's birth. Although just three at the time, Tamsin has absolute recall of the details including the chocolates she snaffled from her mum as she and baby brother exchanged gifts. She has just butted in to point out the toy she bought Angus (a blue towelling wrist rattler with an elephant on it) and the fact that she rode on my shoulders through Cirencester as we went present hunting.
Any moment now she will bring out the McDonalds toy from the Happy Meal that she had after visiting the hospital.
The years just fly by. Enjoy every moment of having babies
Cheers
Graham
Thanks again to the rest of you guys for your concern for my daughter.
cheers Pat.
Brings back not-so-very-old memories of new babies around here... grin
Cheers! (and a bubble gum cigar)

The CREW just keeps growing.

Just made it through nearly 200 messages. OUCH! My eyeballs hurt!
Pat - Glad to hear your daughter and her friends made it through that wreck. YIKES! Those photos looked frightful.
Greg - My condolences on the loss of your Mum. I've still got both my parents around and I shudder at the thought of having them pass on. I think I'll call them tomorrow to remind them how much I love them.
Brian - Congratulations to you and the Bear family! What wonderful news! Welcome Brogan! Great name by the way. ;^)

Subaru needs to put on a press or public demonstration of VDC, like they did for the dealers at Flemington Raceway when the VDC OB was released.
They made some slippery obstacle courses and went up against a few luxury SUV's. The VDC dominated from what I've heard.
-Dennis
Frank: yes, I've noticed that, but they've actually used it for a while now. Maybe they will emphasize it more.
Subaru should film a commercial showing off VDC. Motorweek has a tidbit about traction/stability control and they show two BMWs side-by-side, one with, and one without, and at the same speed the one without skids out, the other doesn't.
Simple demonstration of the technology. Come to think of it, I've seen print ads, but not many on TV for the VDC, if any.

From the CanadianDriver.com article on the 2005 Legacy:
You're probably getting as tired as some of us car scribes are of hearing this, but it bears repeating: Subaru's full-time AWD system is simpler, smoother, more efficient, and just better than anyone else's out there. The horizontally-opposed engines have a lower centre of gravity and allow for a symmetrical drivetrain that makes for a simpler, more elegantly-designed chassis; the longitudinal layout means power flows directly, rather than going around corners and gears and adding complication. The result is more predictable behaviour, more neutral handling, and less mechanical complexity.
Subaru should hire these folks into their marketing team!
BTW, this week in Motorweek: STi vs. EVO. Set your TiVos!

More and more, I feel a test drive is critical. A review is just one opinion, who knows if that guy drives an Aztec?

I'll set my first generation Sony VHS VCR. :-)

Had most of the usual suspects, even Brogan popped in with Papa Bear for a "goo" and a "ga".
I'm gonna e-mail Patti tomorrow to ask if she's heard anything, and to follow up on her back, see if she's feelin' better. I'll get back to you guys soon as I hear.

I had an appointment in town and, as usual, I did not think twice about keeping it. I have winter tires on my '00 Legacy GT sedan and it basically goes whereever and whenever I need it to go. On this particular drive it was pretty obvious to me that the main roads would be clogged with crashes and crawling vehicles, so I stayed on the back roads.
One small problem -- the schools had decided, too late, to send the kids home, and the school buses were out. Driving up a _very_ steep hill near home, I came upon a school bus, about half filled with middle and high schoolers, which had slid into a ditch. I drove very slowly and carefully around the bus, then stopped a bit further up the hill and walked back to see if I could render assistance. Silly of me, as it turns out. When I stuck my head in the door of the bus it became quite evident to me that school buses these days are festooned with all sorts of communications devices from two-way radios to pagers to cellphones. The driver had long since summoned help and was expecting it to arrive momentarily.
The driver thanked me all the same, and I started to take my leave. Then a funny thing happened. I am -not- making this up; one of the kids on the bus said, "cool car", and a few more of them followed up with, "yeah". It was a good thing I was holding onto the railing because otherwise I would have fallen over! Imagine that, an ordinary Subie sedan -- no bling-bling Impreza, no wingie-thingie bolted onto the trunk, just an average-looking 4-door Legacy sedan -- being seen as "cool" in the eyes of a busload of teenagers.
Cheers,
