    Congrats Ty on your daughter!

Welcome to Keri & Mark to the wonderful world of Crew membership:-)

Congrats to Juice and Bob (along with a touch of envy) on your Vegas venture.

I like the idea of SOA haveing "track days" around the country. If not, how about Edmunds having another Test weekend like they did a few years back!

Just got back from the dealer for warrantee work on the GT. The owner already thought of calling me when the first new turbo GT arrives.

I think it's an excellent idea.

thanks for the warm welcomes. And congrats to all those with good news!

I've actually been a lurker for close to 2 years now. My husband thinks its funny - but he has no right to give me grief.

Anyway, just got back from an oil change at the dealer and asked about the coolant additive. He looked at me kinda funny - but then checked my vin and told me that it was not on the list. He confirmed that it will be added at the next service though (30K).

    About 12 lbs.

He only chases squirrels and cotton tail rabbits.

Our big cat is Norman, he's pushing 15 lbs. He actually acts like a puppy dog most of the time, even follows me around the house. Our girl cat, Zooey, is petite (under 10 lb) and a cat all the way. She often acts as though we bore her....

Here's a pic my brother sent me, it's the largest cat I have ever seen:

Anybody hear Car Talk this weekend? They had a "stump the chumps" segment regarding a call a from a few weeks ago, where a 2000 Forester owner called in about a clutch problem. It was classic "judder" all the way, and I wish I could have called in right then and there! The boys advised her to talk to the dealer. As we learned this week in "stump the chumps", the owner has a dealer that's on the ball, and they took care of the problem at no cost under the TSB. It was a very good discussion, and reflected very favorably on Subaru. Hopefully, it will let a lot of other people know that they can have this problem fixed, which should generate a lot of goodwill.

My parents experienced this problem in their 2000 Outback, and the dealer wanted to charge $1200 to fix it. After a call to the Subaru 1-800 line on the advice of Patti, it was taken care of no charge. My parents went from being really peeved about the situation to very pleased, just like the caller on Car Talk. It is definitely a good thing for Subaru to take care of their customers in situations like this. Word gets around. Conversely, this is a situation where uncooperative dealers can do a lot of damage!

Csaba Csere's column in the new C&D is a good read. He discusses CAFE, and makes an interesting example of Subaru and the new Outback. According to Csere, having AWD and any 4 of 5 other factors (including ground clearance, approach/departure angles, folding seats) would classify the Outback as a truck whether Subaru wanted to do so or not. He also notes that Subaru did not need help with CAFE ratings in its truck fleets, so there was probably no motivation in that direction. However, there may still be motivation to move the Outback "out" of the car fleet if it would have dragged down the average (my thinking not his). We won't know that for sure until we see actual MPG numbers, in which case simple math will answer the question.

Hey, my cat stretches over 2 feet long and he's only 15 lbs. Maine [non-permissible content removed] cats can go over 20 lbs easily, and get real big. The one in that pic has sideburns, tufts of fur between claws, and tufted ears, which are characteristic of the breed. In fact some people claim the breed traces to the bobcat which has the same features, but that's probably just legend.

Apparently, the largest one on record (according to Guiness Book) was 48" long and 35 lb!

Bobcats are small. Have you ever seen one in real life? I've seen a few while hunting. They're a lot smaller than that photoshopped cat. ;)

...of my friend's cat. He is a polydactyl(6 toes on each foot), measures 24" in body length (not including the head and tail), almost 18" from floor to shoulder, weighs approximately 25 lbs. and it's all muscle. As for his head, bigger than most newborns. He is one scary looking critter, but is very loveable and friendly....to those that he likes.

Strange, that cat looks just like Hadji, only bigger. ;-)

I didn't realize you were a photoshop cat expert. Actually, I almost skied over a bobcat a few years ago in northern Vermont near dusk, and it was the size of a raccoon (which is pretty large if you ask me). They call them "catamounts" in that area.

Maybe you saw a little kittie, were you hunting in the backyard with your cap gun? ;-)

"Catamounts" is the team name for the both the University of Vermont and the Univerity of Western NC.

Apparently the same guys that designed the climate control on the Forester XT wired up the condo we want to buy, the heater has a mind of its own. We're gonna ask them to fix it, of course.

I wonder if Sam's fix (see Forester thread) would work at the condo? LOL

Did you call me yesterday? I got a message from you but it sounded like Tat was playing with the phone and dialed up Paisan! I got the voicemail.

Now that is just too funny! I guess many people are skeptical about big cats, but those [non-permissible content removed] cats get big. Apparently, they will just flop in your arms, which the pictures seem to indicate. They don't reach full size until about 4 years of age, so that 2 year old Riley may get even larger.

gvmelbrty: I didn't see a ring in those pics, so the girl is probably available....hope you like cats!

mike - she must've been playing with my cell phone, since you're on speed dial. Did she ask if you could tint her car window? LOL

Yeah, Colin, I'd have blamed some bizarre language barrier or something. ;-)

It's alphabetical. But you hit Names, then "P", and he's the first. Two keys, must of hit them in that order.

She likes the ring tones and plays with the phone as a toy, it's hilarious.
