I'll continue praying for Anne Marie and for you and Rita too.
Hang in there,
Jim

More healing positve thoughts and prayers headed her way.

All the females Rita included have had to have it removed, as a matter of fact Rita's grandmother died from complications.
Anne Marie also has a stone lodged in the bile duct, so they are going to wait another couple of days to see if the stone passes then they will take the gallbladder out. Also constant testing shows in liver function that the pancreatitis is spiking so they also have to get that under control before the blood acid level goes out of control like last time.
Thanks for all the prayers and good wishs they are truly appreciated, last year's episode is still fresh in our minds and we have no wish to repeat that.
Cheers Pat.

Glad to hear they finally found what is causing the problems (hopefully). Keep us posted on how things go.

She is not happy about the central line as she got a bad infection at the central line last year, they think this infection played some part in the damage to her eyes.
Cheers Pat.
As much as I like the Legacy Turbo, I was unable to purchase one because I DON'T FIT!. I tried to feel comfortable but it wasn't happening, which was
I was looking into my favorite car, 300C, but I couldn't get anything close to invoice and the DC Rewards Program (also through my job) did not apply to the 300C. I was willing to sacrifice the 6MT if I got the 300C at a comfortable price but I know I'll enjoy 298HP of fun in the G35. Needless to say, I wrote to DC when I took one of their Rewards survey and told them how they missed a sale because of their limitations.
Anyway, on May 23, I'm going under the knife to remove my tonsils. They are the size of apples and they've been causing me to gasp for air when I sleep, among other things like irriation and discomfort... Couldn't do it when I was younger because of other health issues I was facing at the time (between life & death). Well, that's a 1-2 week recovery.
And last but not least, it's official, we'll become Georgians by the first week of June. My wife accepted the job transfer and we excited and ready for the move. So, in case you don't hear from me during this time (yeah, like you'll really notice), you'll know why...
Having said that, we're hoping the B9 gets to the dealer before we move. The company will pay for the transport to GA, but we'd rather have it first then waiting to see it over there.
We'll see...
As for the tonsils coming out...stock up on popsicles and take all the time you can for recovery!
I swear this is a true story. Sounds corny, but it's true.
When we think of our kids, and they're in pain, I swear the first thing I wish for is for that pain to transfer to me, the parent. We'd make any sacrifice for them, any parent can probably relate.
Well, I'm replacing the top on the Miata, and of course whenever I'm working on the cars I think of Mr. OCD himself, Pat. The way I lay out the tools, two desks to lay things out on, a PC with wi-fi to get help if and when needed, not to mention instructions.
Any how, so I'm getting along, about half way through the job, and I'm thinking so myself, "Huh, I've become Pat".
*BOOOOOM*
Thunder. Big time. Then lightning. Then a down pour.
Keep in mind at this point the old top is completely removed. Naturally I panic to get everything under the car port.
I'm hoping that some how, some way, her misfortune did transfer to me.
Here's to hoping she starts feeling better, my friend.

Incidently one thing I have to come clean about I am not a tidy worker, when I work, tools are all over hells half acre, it drives Rita nuts. But they all eventually make it back into my tool box.
Cheers Pat.
Cheers Pat.
Also a belated congrats to Ken for the marathon!! A twenty minute time increase is nothing considering what you went through. I've been in similar situations in much shorter races, and was lucky if I even finished!

I took 3 weeks off scheduled around her intended delivery date months ago. Not that she bothered to respect our schedule or anything by arriving 2 weeks early. Anyway, when the boys were born, we were so short-staffed in the partnership that I didn't get any time off for 5 months. This time was just magical! Quality family time with her and the boys. Remarkable what that can do to improve ones' patience! We did have a little set-back there which bounced her into the hospital with dehydration and jaundice, but she recovered quickly and is now feeding very well and getting fat. We must have decided that life wasn't interesting enough, so we bought a new house too. It's just down our street, but much, much bigger with a bedroom upstairs for everyone. Still clearing that sale, and stressfull as it has been, the sudden realization that we need to do a dozen "small" fix-ups to get our house ready to sell is even worse. Any ideas how easy it is to keep a house in showing condition when it's inhabited by 3 six year old boys, a dog and a new baby??
And then...we got the news that a good friend had to have a bilateral mastectomy for cancer of the breast. Then I read about Anne-Marie. It doesn't add to the stress, it makes us remember to stop worrying about minor things and give thanks for what matters.
Pat - sending best thoughts to Anne Marie and your family. Take care.
When I had the loaner for 4 days, many onlookers did as well.
Besides, the look is more Alfa than it is Edsel.

We've just confirmed our apartment in the Vinings. We'll be there for 1 year while our house gets built (presently looking at some subdivisions).
I'll give you a holla' once I get down there and familiarize myself with Hotlanta
I think if it breaks again I'll sell the Miata as-is.
Looks great, though. And I got the kind with no zipper, so you just fold the top and go. It required some changes to the frame, but in the end it all worked out nicely.

I'll try to get some pics. It'll be with the top up - the vinyl has to stretch out so I can't open it for a couple of days.

The projects were mostly community cleanup work, but our group centered on an association we have with the County Elder Care program, so we did major restoration and upkeep work at the home of a 79 year old widow. And of course, it rained.... and rained.... Ever try to tame foot high grass in a downpour? Emily spent the day in the mud planting skids of annuals and perennials in the new front beds. Luckily, it was reasonably warm, and the sun came out strong at the end to help dry us out.
The OBW did it's part, hauling my landscaper trailer a good 80 miles today loaded with mower, tools, and a half ton of soil and mulch picked up at Agway. It will probably take me days to clean that poor car's interior!

Elmer: Ooohh, be prepared to be, uh, uncomfortable for 1-2 weeks after the tonsillectomy. It's much easier as a child than an adult. Well, hopefully you'll breathe better too!
Bob: Lot's of sunblock!!! Or wear a helmet with a wide brim.
Juice: I am always tempted to get a Miata just for fun. One of these days I might just bring one home and surprise my wife. How much to ship yours to Seattle? But maybe I'll get a hardtop with it.
Hope everyone is well. I'll try to check in from time to time!

A couple of months ago the Dakota guys requested a topic devoted to "MPG-Real World Numbers". With the ever climbing price of fuel, I'm seeing a lot of new people frequently asking about MPG. Would the Crew be interested in a topic focused just on reporting their Subaru MPG?

Honda has been one of them and a few others. So EPA needs to get their crap together otherwise there could be some legal issues evolving.
