You used to be able to rent the whole mountain at Lookout Pass for $3,000 but that was back in 2001. My ski buddy checks now and then, usually when the lottery hits 100 million, and I think it was up to $3,500 a couple of years ago.

That's pretty cheap considering that includes 300 lift tickets (or used to). Rentals and food and lessons were the usual prices.

So, we just need to get 300 CarSpace friends together for ~$15 bucks each and pick a day. I'm sure we can all crash on Paul's couch. :shades:

Nice, but I prefer the soft fluffy stuff. But these old legs prefer the corduroy slopes. Gotta stay upright 'cause falling hurts. And as one gets older the bones are a bit more brittle. The Subaru also prefers the soft fluffy stuff.

Thought I'd show y'all the results of high winds and snow. This is a cornice (snow drift) off the porch of our house. The snowflakes are to help prevent the birds from flying though the front windows.">

Here's the skinny, right from the bosses mouth:
The whole mountain is yours, $3500 for up to 300 people. Food/beverage/alcohol extra. Catering available, extra.
Most excellent ski patrol, no extra charge

Given the general atmosphere of the place, and the quality of the snow, I gotta say - this is a bargain.
Today: base temp peaked at 44F. Spring snow all over the place. Blue sky, sunshine, not too crowded (5 min lift line max).

Skier's paradise, on the ID/MT border on I90.

Hey, that's great Paul. all we need is about 80-100 people- it would be fun! No lines!

Hopefully we'll have a lot of snow next year too. I have to come and ski Idaho one of these days.

I've got a homemade "roof rake" that consists of a 12' section of galvanized conduit attached to a 1"x6"x18" piece of plywood. It allows me to reach up a good 2" from the gutters on our ranch home. We've had some snow curl off the roof, but nothing like that "soft serve" shape. Unique circumstances of that corner of your home contributed to that it seems.

About 6" of compacted "crusty" snow on the ground, most of the roofs are clear though.

Hey guys just wanted to let everyone know, my hell job is just about over. Gave my 2 weeks notice today. Going back to the IT world. Coincidentally in the same building but for a different brokerage house.

Good thing is that I'm going to be on a normal 9-5 schedule which means I'll be making chats and be able to build up the AZP Business of aftermarket parts for the Subies!

Thanks for all the support over the past 3 years or so that have really hindered my personal life!

I started a new job yesterday myself. Small fish in a very big pond instead of vice versa, and I'm actually welcoming it for a while.

Being a dad, you'll enjoy the reduced responsibility. It'll give you more time to connect with your kids.

I wouldn't want a promotion right now if they handed it to me on a platter - not if it meant more hours, more stress, and less time at home.

It's all about keeping a good balance. I'm much more content with my career this way.

mike - glad to hear you're going back to normal hours and hopefully a less stressful job.

Congrats Ed on the more satisfying move.

I am one person who beleives that it is better to have a job that you enjoy (or can at least tolerate) and don't stress over rather than going for the big bucks $$.

Luckily the wind has kept our roof fairly clear. But in one week we went from several inches on the ground to about 3 feet. That's not counting the drifts. When we built we didn't realize how windy it was in this area. But it's in the woods which we wanted. And it is only about 5 miles from stores, etc..

We can have spring at any time. :P

We're not near the Chesapeake at all. We're half way between Assawoman Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

In fact, our house is closer to the Chesapeake than our condo is.

If you're in Annapolis, let me know, that's only 45 minutes away. Great sea food, plus the Naval Academy are good sites in the area.

In the Bay you see Baltimore near the top, then down a bit you see Annapolis. The Bay Bridge is right there, and last time I visited there were public docks at Sandy Point State Park.

On the coast, you'll see Ocean City, we're actually closer to Fenwich Island, just below the MD and DE border.

Haaaa. He spun and my driver just went around him! Gotta love AWD. Of course when we had the wheel bearing go, we finished last in the race (although there were 3 DNFs so we technically weren't last) Things are looking good though. One of my friends who's a fireman and loves to clean and detail cars has signed on as our detailer. After each race he will be cleaning the car from top to bottom including the engine bay. He's also goo with bling so not only will be do well, we'll look good doing it!

The Fence is slightly worn and has actually gotten a bit slippery lately.

I finally got a paper copy, it was on page D1 in yesterday's WSJ.

The tools Edmunds is working on sounds good, i.e. selecting multiple criteria and then being able to sort by each one. They should let us weigh each criteria and then calculate a score based on the percentages, like they do for their own comparos.

For example, for paisan, it's 90% torque, 10% space for "paisan-sized" adults. Those are the only 2 criteria that matter.

Gas mileage? HA! That carries no weight.

I'd say it's probably 75% Torque 25% space for Paisan-sized adults! But close enough.

Doing some research, I may have to go to the dark side and trade the Armada in on a 2500HD w/Duramax to tow the new boat.

Dry it weighs in at 9000-9300 with a full 185 gallons of gas it's over 10,000

So dry I'm right at the limit, that's why we'll see how it goes this summer, if it tows ok, then I'll keep the Armada, if not then it'll be the Chevy 2500HD w/Duramax for me.

The chipmunks are back. Yesterday I saw TWO of them under my car. No more chewed wires, at least.

I'm heading over to "Suggestions for Subaru" and asking them to stop basting the wires in that delicious sauce they use. :surprise:
