fat fenders i think you may have looked at the heavy duty series r-n-l it does sell for about twice as much but its not aluminum, its a heavier grade of steel and you can stand on it up to 250 lbs. that may have been the one you were thinking of, i paid about 695.00 + install for mine. the dakota uses the v-series that is just like the pe being that it is covered by a vinyl material and has aluminum slats.
both are great covers, i just chose the r-n-l because it locked the tailgate and top with one lock.

think I'll go call D/C and see if ol Ernie has come back from his extended vacation - I wanna know where my truck is!

This discussion should probably go to accessories.
Here's my updated photos website:

Again, make sure you use the entire address. (http through html)
Enjoy!

Now I need to get new photos taken of mine. Maybe if we keep updating (without competing) we can get others to jump in and show off their quad.
Keep that black quad shining!
Well, it's like driving with dark sunglasses on at night. Even though the light seems bright when out in front of the truck, looking at it, when driving, it's like driving with your parking lights on. There's just not enough light coming through to light anything beyond about 20 feet.

Also, I'm thinking about headlight and tail light covers. GTS mask for the front and sum 45% slots for the back. Plan on matching paint too since blackout is not an option for the sake of contrast. Any opinions on these?

This is a shortened web address for the Quad that should work better...

Please let me know if this works better. Sorry for all the posts!

PS. BobbyT - I think getting clear headlight covers (or even smoked) and painting them to match the color of the truck would look awesome. That's what I would do if my Quad wasn't black!

Get an account on Yahoo and go through their page builder program. If I can do it, anyone can. (now if I could just figure out the update stuff.)
Good luck and look forward to some pics.
As you step through the page build, just change the pics or text as you're prompted. When you get to the end, you'll have the option of selecting a new address extension or keeping the same one. Please post the new address so we can check out updated pics.
Good luck.

As far as the upload, geocites has a real good 'file manager' section that allows for easy uploads. Created the page on my pc and then uploaded new page and photos. Don't care for the way their "builder" reduced the photos in previous attempt. Photos tell it all!
ohc_baby - The radio is the RBK - AM/FM/CD w/changer controls. And yes it sound great!
Thank You Bookitty!!!
This all sounds generic but it is rather easy IMO.
Give it a try.

Did the first page come up or just the pictures page not work? Try:

It has a bunch of slow loading pics. Let me know how it works.
been many instances of errors made by the Mercedes service center. The issues I have experienced (but not limited to):
1) Scheduling appointments at their web site and not having the appointment scheduled on their end. In this instance, I received confirmation from the dealership by way of a direct reply from one of their representatives. Then on the day of the appointment, the writer is surprised to see me -- no appointment scheduled.
2) Requesting parts be ordered for my Mercedes that are clearly defective and arriving for the appointment just to be told they don't have the parts, didn't order them and I'll have to return for yet another visit. In my case, it was a defective CD Changer and mirror. Both of which were clearly defective.
3) I had a bumper cover replaced. This required painting the bumper cover to match the vehicle color. The paint job was surprisingly good. They mounted the bumper too high and after 2-3 weeks of driver, the vibration caused the bumper cover to rub on the lower edge of the hood and wore off the paint on the hood. This clearly demonstrates poor quality assurance. I returned for a "less than perfect" repair.
4) The latest episode was for a tire repair. While the service center was able to plug the tire punctured from a nail, the technician scored the silver painted wheel between the lug nuts as they rushed around the wheel locking onto each nut. Not
only was the wheel scored, chips in the finish were added at no additional cost.
This demonstrates a clear lack of caution, careful respect and consideration for the own of a 50,000 dollar vehicle.
After much frustration, I complained stating the issue and that the service department simple 'sucked'. As a result of this complain, the Service Manager asked me to leave the dealership to seek service at another dealer. Not only did they ask me to leave, but they told the Mercedes Benz dealer the damage to my wheel was already there -- they did not cause the damage. The regional Mercedes service representative offered this news to me after I contacted the Mercedes customer service line. The moral of this story is, not only does the Exeter NH Mercedes dealer not perform quality work on a quality vehicle, they lie about the mistakes they make and insinuate the customer is the liar.
I recommend shopping for a good service department before buying a Mercedes at the Exeter NH store.

Now if one of the Quad owners have a problem I can work up a little compassion as long as they are not whiners ( as opposed to weiners). Notice I didn't include Jaguars in my above list in deference to an unnamed individual who lives in the land of ice cubes and pine trees. It probably doesn't run long enough to make it to the dealer for crappy service. Rick
you won't be able to see our Rolls. My wife used it to drive down the lane of our estate to take out the garbage. It's a very long trip and she usually overnights at the carriage house. We have another Rolls somewhere, but I seem to have misplaced it. Besides, you will have enough trouble dealing with Andy when he reads your post.
Gotta go now, it's time to count the servants.

I have the WinDoors on the side windows that have 2 T-handles. I have driven with the handle in the open, closed unlocked and closed locked. Again no opening on their own. All openings have shocks to help lift and hold open the windows. The shocks also tend to hold the windows closed.
Having 2 handles on the side windows is a tad more effort than a single handle. Not much. I like having a single handle on the rear door.
The only issue I had was upon delivery the side handles and the rear handle were keyed differently. I had the dealer switch cylinders on the rear handle so all five were all keyed alike. The cylinder for the rear handle is upside down relative to the side handles so I have to remember to turn the key over when locking or unlocking all the handles. Minor annoyance.
While the shocks used to keep the cover up are very strong and would probably keep the cover closed going down the road, I keep it locked at all times. I paid too much for it to take a chance on it popping up and getting damaged. Also if you keep it unlocked, to easy for a 'quick removal' for someone wanting it.
As far as two locks, I don't find it to be any trouble. They are two small locks in each corner that turn into a tab to hold it down. Also there is no linkage going side to side to get bumped or damaged (am assumption of ARE - sorry if incorrect). I will attempt to get a couple photos of locks and post them on web page. Will advise when up there.
