Eric, still time consuming but a great job. I liked the information inset on the main page. actually, this site (Edmunds) has been a bit on the slow side, so that may explain the tardy response. Well done.

(livnlrn) LOOKS GREAT! Especially with the turning
leaves in the background. I have seen your rig
around town. The light bar on top is easy to spot.

BTW your BACK button seems to need some work.

Okay, thanks for the tips on the bugs I need to fix. I know the light bar makes it easy to spot, makes me be sure to be good, everyone knows who you are. Glad everyone thinks the site is okay. First try at a home page. Loved the leaves turning.

First let me start out with a hello from the Chicago area. I have an intense blue/ silver SLT+ on the way, with a 4.7 auto with T&H, anti-spin(3.55). I intend to put on a set of fender flares from a 4x4 and paint them to match the silver on the bottom. I'll send pictures as soon as I get the truck done. The question I have is.
....did they have problems with the anti-spin rear end? ....After I install the hard box cover,I hope my mileage is in the high teens as I drive 75 miles a day to and from work. Thanks...

As far as I know, this is the same Sure-Grip unit that they have used for years, and has good reliability. There has been no postings, that I can remember anyway, which complained about a bad diff. I'm in Chi. area too. Hope to see you around

Just curious: do you have a class 3 or 4 hitch on the truck pullling the camper?

That's an interesting topic that was beat to death last winter.

I have the "AHC" (Order Option) Trailer Tow Group - Class IV Hitch & 7 Pin Pigtail. But the sticker doesn't say Class IV. Our pop-up camper only weighs 1,800 lbs. empty. So I'm no where close to maxing anything out.

I'm looking for geocities experts to help me along with building a better web page, I'd like to put up more pix and possibly a couple of pages of pix with text, but this webbuilder isn't the easiest user interface. Here is my link and thanks to all the folks who gave me advice and are just downright nice B`)

Hey Bob, truck looks great!. Your photos are fine. The only thing you need to do,as I found out, is to reduce the photo resolution and size so you can fit more on page. Also they will take less time to download. Don't know what camera your using, but take photos in lower resolution setting, and try to get the file size of the photo 100kb or less. I put some up on geocities also, nothing fancy, but some the guys wanted to see the roll top cover and bed rug. Address is http://www.geocities.com/plainsranger/index.html

    Hope this helps. Nick..

    Nick,

Nice QC - I really like the Pace Edwards accessories!!! Thanks for the webpage help. I'm using a Nikon digicam and pictures are stored in jpg format. I'm thinking that I could probably use a photoshop program to reduce the size of the pictures there, nothing like having to read one manual to understand another manual!

Does anyone know the stock number to mopar mudflaps that have the subdued rams head on them? I went to the dodge parts dept and the said the only molded mud flaps that they have have the "shiny" silver rams head on them. My buddy has a durango and he has molded mopar mud flaps with the "subdued" black rams head. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!
  • stnickstnick Member Posts: 177
James, my dealer installed the molded mopar flaps on my 00 QC as part of the deal. I saw the packages they were in but didn't see or get a part #. But they have been installing them on Dakotas for some time,so I would think that your dealer parts sould be able to get them. My dealer is in a small town, pop 6000. The rams on mine are black. Nick.

Nick, I lived and grew up in a small town where the population never changed. Everytime some girl became pregnant, some guy would leave town.

Thanks Bob, I should have mentioned in that last post to you I have a cannon s100 digital camera, and even if your pics are high resolution, you can edit them down to web or email size with programs like Adobe photo deluxe, which is what I use. I just wish that pretty red truck in the photos looked like that now, instead of crusty white salt. Yuk. Can't wait for spring! Nick.

The dodge web site has part numbers for the splash guards.

I don't have a 2001 accessory catalog, but they should be there too.

Love your truck pics on your site. I was wondering if you could answer a few quick questions concerning your bed. I am picking up my new Dakota SLT Club tomorrow. What did you put on the top part of your Tailgate and the top of your bed rails?? (the black accents) Do they come as part of the Roll cover or can I order those separate?? How do you like the bed rug?? I am still unsure myself as to how I will protect my bed and I like this option. Does the roll cover lock?? I love the way your bed looks and would be much appreciative of any advice you could give me...Thanks, Garrett.
  • stnickstnick Member Posts: 177
Thanks Garrett for the compliments. I am enjoying the truck as I hope you will yours. The bed rail caps are manufactured by Bushwacker in California. They were one of the first available back when I got my truck May 2000. Abs black with a diamond pattern. They sick on with tape. I did have one crack in 3 places when the weather went below zero, but the company replaced both side rails no charge, even though only the left side had broken. the bed rug is Pace Edwards and I like it, but truck bed hasn't had much hard use. Others on this forum that have one have said it is holding up well with some hard use. Roll top also PE. Yes it does lock, and if you get a tailgate lock, either power or popn'lock you have relative security to store tings back there. Any other questions, just ask. PS both companies have web addresses, www. their names .com. hope this helps, Nick..

I just purchased a 4x2 white quad....I notice most folks don't have body side moulding..I would think dings would be a real problem (had a blazer that really got dinged up over the years w/o moulding). Is there a source for body side moulding that isn't black?

    Thanks
  • ohc_babyohc_baby Member Posts: 116
The only way to get color moldings is to buy two front-door moldings per side for a Durango, then trim one per side to fit the rear door (being shorter and all). This only works if your Dak happens to be a color offered on Durango, which white is. The upside is that it's impregnated with the dye, so if it scratches, it'll stay white. It's actually a really nice modification if you're lucky enough to have the right paint color. The price difference is negligible, by the way.

I'd love to see some pictures of a white Quad Cab!!! How about setting up a webpage?!?

Somewhere in the photo gallery, there are a couple of pictures of a white quad cab 4x4...looks good. I plan on putting a couple of pics out w/in the next week or so of my 4x2...I just got it and have to remove decals, put on roof rack, etc..

It looks like Tom beat weebedna for the White QC pixs. ShhweetTwuck!!!! Your truck even matches the horse trailer! You should get some nice dark tinted windows to keep out that hot Arizona sun!

Love the white truck! My last truck (Chevy S10) was white and when I first got a glimpse of it on the dealers lot I said, @#!% - I don't want a WHITE truck!!! But, it really grew on me! So far I've had both black and white trucks and I still haven't figured out how people say, "White (or Black) trucks are good at hiding dirt", and I have heard just the opposite too! If you ask me, my forest green QC shows the most dirt outta every car color I've had. I know, I know... It depends on the color of the dirt! Take care of your "OJ Pickup Truck", I'd like to hear about any mods you make!

Got one on order, eta around 4/24, looking to see what mods you guys have done to your flame red QCs

I'm looking to add flame red body color brush/grill guards, roof rack, side steps, and fiberglass bed cover...starting research on vendors and prices...Mopar is high priced, so, much surfing on the web is needed.

Besides the pictures, what vendor (like LEER) could I go to, for one stop shopping, or WEB site (such as pickuptruckaccessories.com) has the best prices and availability?

    Thanks!
  • biglucybiglucy Member Posts: 140
    Tom,

Handsome Truck!!! I see you went with the leather buckets, how do you like them? When will you be true to your handle and install the hot tub in the bed?!? We wanna see those pix!!!

    Hey folks,
QCs are great, but how about something for us CC folks? Geez, as a CC owner, I'm starting to feel like a 5th wheel around here...except for maint. and accessory topics, of course ;-)

Nice looking truck. Sorry you have to mess up the windshield with those stupid Virginia stickers. When I moved from VA to MI, it was nice not to have those stickers any more. The white VA plate matches the truck well.
  • biglucybiglucy Member Posts: 140
Nice job on the fender flares and nerf bars! Too bad we can't "hear" the other changes you made.
By the Way - is that a spare truck part lying next to the front passenger tire, sure hope not!

that thing laying next to the wheel was just some hardened sludge that was plugging up my oil filler tube...no big deal

Pictures of my DAK with A.R.E. LSII Tonneau Cover with sport wing...also shows my Intense Performance Z-Tube with their new 9 inch Pro-Flow Filter. What do you think:

Man does that ever look good!
did you do the work? I am curious about your air intake, how it performs etc.
    Congrats...it looks fantastic.
  • pmaceypmacey Member Posts: 33
    Thanks for the feedback!

The cover/wing were installed by a local cap dealer where I ordered them from, took all of 15 minutes to install, think they carged about $25.

The Intense Performance z-tube is great, gives a nice look to the engine bay, sounds great at WOT, and a noticable improvement in performance, somewhat helps justify the cost, especially with getting their new 9 inch Pro-Flow filter.

I've read a quite a few posts on intakes and it seems most of the 4.7 crowd went with the z-tube.

As a f.y.i. - Flowmetrics will be releasing their new 4.7 70mm TB, it will have either a adaptor for the current z-tube, or via speedtweaks, you can get a package with a new custom built 4 inch z-tube...now that should flow and go!

    Again, thanks for the feedback

I have owned both a white and a black vehicle (and am finally in possession of enough smarts to buy not only a Dodge Dakota but also one without either of those colors *L*) and have come to two conclusions. One, when compared to the other colors of the spectrum, I think those colors do 'attract' more dirt. However, two, the amount of dirt the vehicle attracts is directly proportional to how hard the owner of the vehicle looks for it. :)
