Just an update on fuel consumption w/ 4WD 4.7L 5sp Quad Cab. At 7777 miles to date, the mileage has increased from originally 16-18 to now 19-22 mpg. (At this rate, will I hit 30 mpg by 30,000 miles?)
Finally back up and running after a computer disaster...I know this is off subject but too fricking funny not to tell....
2 weeks ago i was installing a Firewire PCI Card into my computer when "nature" called....So i left the computer running on the floor with the cover off where i was working and went to the bathroom....While in the bathroom, i hear my 65 lb. pet Boxer let out a loud YELP....I finished my buisiness and went to see what all the commotion was about..I returned to my computer room and found my computer in a puddle of dog pee smoking and sparking, with my Boxer sitting next to it licking his privates.....Aparently, he too had had the call of nature and proceeded to hike his leg on my computer, thus giving him the "SHOCK" of his life and totally FRYING my PC...Well, 2 weeks & $2500 later, i am back up and running with a brand new computer...My dog will no longer come into my computer room for ANY reason...
Now for the truck stuff:
(victx)---->I have a 00 4.7L/4x4/5sp/sport/TH/buckets/3.55 with all the goodies except the towing and fancy radio...The reason i opted out of the "upgraded" stereo is that im an electronics NUT...I installed an ALPINE CDA-D852 "DIN and 1/2" model the day after i took delivery...It was a perfect fit for the opening and much better looking and performing than the Pioneer in my opinion...Plus its got a cool Dancing light display with a remote...Be sure you check this one out before you make up your mind.
Everyone---> Just got the childseat tethers installed last week and am pretty happy with them...K&N Filter picket up Mileage by 1.5mpg...not bad for a $45 filter from Advance Auto.......
"I returned to my computer room and found my computer in a puddle of dog pee smoking and sparking, with my Boxer sitting next to it licking his privates....." I really hate myself for asking but was that computer built by either Ford or Chevy???hee heee heee - Rick
picked up the 01 QC yesterday. it is terrific. the 16" wheels are just like the 15" style, but you just extend the spokes outward, but boy are they big and look wonderful. got the salesman down to 27500 after tax($0.07/dollar), title, reg, new style bed liner, bed extender, and door entry guards. i love the new interior, the heated mirror control is on the dash so you can turn them off, along with the A/C button, and you can put the vents in between the different areas, gotta leave to go camping.
Could only drool sooooo long and had to place an order today.
01 Black Sport, 4.7, Leather loaded. Ended up adding alarm as flashing light on dash may be a deterrent if parked next to one without. :-)
Only options not added were full-time transfer case, block heater and 3:92 axle. Totaled to 28933 after tax, minus license and registration. Sales manager places order on Monday, 8/14.
Can anyone share wait times for recently ordered Quads?
fat_fenders, I ordered my truck about 3 weeks ago. It's silver, so there might be some parts delay for that, but it's at D-1 now and scheduled for the first full week of September. I should see it at the end of the month.
Can certainly RELATE to the dog episode... Won't get into what happens to a video camera when a Newfoundland pulls the same trick! YECHHH! The service department wouldn't even touch it!!!
SOOOO... You now have an unexpected $2500 in additional equity in your beloved companion!
Anyone else from ATL?? My commute is 14 miles of hell and during the week I get about 13 miles per Gal; 4.7, auto, LSD, K&N filter, flowmaster, etc. Went 188 miles today to visit one of my kids and grandbabies up in the hills. 11.6 gallons gives 16.2. Not awful, but we always want more, right? Boy does it sound good going up some of those hills! Do you think that's where my extra 1 mph went? I do. Anyway, 11,600 miles and not one serious complaint. Spring squeek that the dealer blames on the rails I had put on. I've got a copy of the e-mail ref spring inserts to show him. Even the horrible klunking in the trans went away after about 7,000 miles. Forget who, but someone was attacked by the little old lady in the parking lot and she got a lot of the front plastic, etc. I put on a massive Grissly bumper and far as I know, noone's hit it yet. Working on a good looking small oval for the trailer hitch. This is the first non-GMC truck I've ever had and I could not be happier. For those of you hesitating, get out you checkbook and do it. From my experience, you'd never regret it. Be careful out there. Remember, I'd like to hear from ATL folks, mainly about gas mileage. And if you're an available middle-aged gal with terrific proportions, send a picture of your truck and bass boat.
I ordered my black quad sport 4x4 totally loaded on july 28th. I will be taking delivery on 8/15 according to the dealer. It was built on 8/10. As far as pricing goes the best deal I could find was 200$ under invoice. YES 200$ under invoice. Any interested parties can contact first chrysler in manitowoc wisconsin. I am just knawing at the bit right now to pick that bad boy up!
Name: Rhys (Reese) Francis Location: Euless, Tx (Between Dallas and Fort Worth)
Bought my first pickup after many many years of driving Mercury Wagons. Found this site while researching which vehicle to buy. Watched quietly Group's enthusiasm help me decide on the Quad Cab. Thanks to everyone.
My new Baby:
2001 Quad SLT w/ 4.7 and Multi Speed Auto Black SLT Plus Package Heated Mirrors Power Seat Infinity Radio/Cassette/CD w/ Wheel Controls Full Front Mask Bed Liner
I ordered my QC from Jasper 7/10/00 and status is KSM(It's on the rail) as of 8/9/00. The dealer called Saturday and told me as soon as it arrives in ATL, he'll call and have someone bring it to him. This should be an exciting week. My QC invoice is posted in this topic somewhere, but so you don't have to look for it, mine is a white/silver SLT+ 4x4, 4.7L, LSD, CD,Towing, HDSG, 3.55, Skid Plates, etc.
I've also noticed, as ohc_baby did, that many new quads in ATL area seem to come from Jasper or Peachtree Dodge. I don't know about Peachtree, but this is my second "Jasper" truck, and I'm well pleased. Everything is no-hassle $195 over invoice there. The drive is definitely worth the trip, at least to me.
I don't know if any of your guys know that in September Hayes Chrysler,Dodge in Lawrenceville and Gainsville is sponsoring a Mopar Meet at the Atlanta Dragway in Commerce. The weekend of Sept 9th. This is always a great time. I have been going from many years now. This could be a great chance for everyone to get together. I plan to go on that Saturday if anyone else is interested let me know.
Thanks to ohc_baby, virnoche and edwardqc for the lead time info. Hopefully, since Wisconsin is so close to Michigan, we get faster delivery. ;-) Looks like a 3-6 week wait from date of order based on feedback posted.
Close eyes, start engine, take imaginary drive in QC 4X4. Mmmmmm, Dakota.... Er, um, I wake to reality. I will post build progress for those interested.
Others have mentioned the decision to purchase a QC was based on the enthusiasm of those posting on this board. I stumbled upon this board while checking prices and would have to agree. Plan to be "one of you" soon.
Keep on Quadin', fat_fenders
PS. My wife took a test drive in a 2001 QC 4X4. She commented that the ride is comparable to her '97 LHS, maybe smoother??? I hope she doesn't want to trade!!!
Delivery time, to a large extent, depends upon whether your truck is loaded onto a piggyback at the marshalling center or if it rides the rail.
I live about 35 miles north of the factory. I had my Quad delivered by truck to a dealer about 100 miles from the factory. It still took 10 days from the date it rolled off the line. If it had gone by rail, I'd factor in another 2 weeks.
Not sure whether they'd be shipping yours by rail or truck... You may want to call DC or check with your dealer on that.
I wish that was all the "equity" i had in my Boxer... Theres no telling how much money this mut has cost me by eating things... Lets see, He has Eaten: (1)Pair of Prescription Sunglasses $400 (1) Pair of Rockports $100 (1)Wallet with +\- $100 in it (1)Wife's Evening Dress $300 (1)Sony BigScreen TV Remote $100 (1) Doggie Food Bowl $25 (ran out of Food so he ate the Bowl) (1) Set of A/V Monter Cables $60 (1) CellPhone $200 (-) Wife's Purse $100 (-) My last Birthday Cake... $25 (1) Last Nights Dinner--Whole Dominos Pizza
+ Various Other Stuff i cant even remember...
BUT----> He loves to ride in the Quad...Never even hinted at wanting to chew on anything in it... He will sit content in the back with the seats folded and stare out the windows at everything around like he's the king of the world...The dog even uses the Westin Step Bars to get in the truck....
OK, got the Quad back from the dealer today. They replaced the Central Timer Module which he says is under the dash somewhere. Service rep says they checked everything for loose connections and found nothing wrong but, he told me this module acts up sometimes intermittently so they went ahead and replaced it.
On another subject, I am getting a repair estimate from the Braille lady's ins. co. adjuster on wednsday. I already have an estimate from my favorite shop in town that will repaint the front valance. I am sure the adjuster will lowball the price and then I will spring the other estimate on him. Man I hate dealing with insurance companies!
I take delivery of my 01 black sport Quad Cab 4.7 auto 2wd loaded (even leather) at 1:00 tomorrow afternoon. Ordered it on 6/29 and been sitting out here quitely reading what others have had to say about their QC's. Thanks to Boo, mac, IAguy and others, I was able to get some questions answered before I ordered. Will update tomorrow after delivery as I can't wait to get in on some of the discussions that have been going on here. Dig-cam is ready so if all goes well........
Please post how you like the leather as compared to the cloth seats. You must have driven the cloth seat variety, right? Support, cushioning, comfort, adjustability, etc.
Would have been nice to at least see a PICTURE of the seats before I ordered my 01. However, I'm used to leather in my Eddie Bauer Explorer and my wife's LHS, so I just knew I must have them. Plus, leather just smells good!
My quad came in today.....WOOOOO WOOOOO. It looks way nice! Cant wait to drive it off on Wednesday. Not only was the dealer a joy to work with they have been right on with everything they have told me. Kudo's to First Chrysler, and expecially Jerry Schermetzler!!!...yu da man! Suggested Retail.......$28,600 Paid...................$25,800 WOOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOO!
When I ordered the Quad, the dealers said the seats are the same as the Durango. Never compared (duh) - just wanted them. Will fill in more tomorrow. Gotta go count dakotas - I mean sheep.
A few days ago I posted about my quad sitting lower on one side. Dealer said they found nothing wrong so I decided to take a few more measurements. At the front fender the left side is 1" lower, at the frame its 1/2". I also measured to supports that the body attaches to,its off 1/2" same as frame. From what it appears, the suspension is sagging 1/2-1" from the weight of the truck. I don't know why there's a 1/2" difference between the fender and the frame. Everything looks straight on the body and the gap between the bumper and fenders is even. Does anybody have a clue. I think I'm going to take it to a different dealer before I start making waves with the local rep. Thanks, Scott
Had the same problem and dealer also replaced the Central Timer Module last week. (I've got the keyless entry with factory installed security system). Dealer warned me that this may not be the fix but worth a try. He said that he's had the same trouble with Durango's which was traced to water getting into the doors and shorting out the switch. Said that the solution is to remove the inner trim on all the doors and seal the switch in silicone. Picked the truck up friday after the CTM replacement and it rained heavy all weekend (NJ - we had some serious rain!!!). Drove a lot on Friday and Saturday - was OK Friday but late Saturday the ghost returned and the locks kept unlocking. Strange thing was that if I shut it off and locked it, it would unlock itself - sometimes the overhead light would go on a second before the locks went - other times the locks would unlock without the overhead light going on. If I use the keyless entry, the light and locks got on at the same time.
Anyway, I'm back to the dealer today.
Just as an item to watch - My front bumper was out of alignment by about 1 1/2". Also on the last service visit I figured I ask the dealer to check the A/C. Seemed OK but I always like more cold. He found a leak in the O ring (well there goes the ozone layer) and fixed it. Now I've got snowballs coming out!
Your truck does exactly what mine does, I first noticed the spontaneous unlocking when the interior light kept coming on. I had the driver's side door lock switch replaced by the dealer as an attempt to fix the problem. It's been okay for a week so far but as it only seemed to occur every couple of weeks it's really too early to tell.
Watch if it happens only when it rains. If it happens then, it's likely a short in the switch. My QC is in the shop right now. I'll post if sealing the switch solves the problem. If not, my next call is for an exorcism.
Does your QC have the factory installed security system? I'm curious if this problem is limited to the security system or to all keyless entry systems or to any QC's with power locks only.
In a stroke of luck that only happens once in a lifetime (well, at least for someone wanting a 01 Quad).....here's the story.
Since my kids have only seen pictures, I took them to the dealership today to show them what dad had ordered. I also wanted to check out the leather in the Durangos as nortx01qc had mentioned they should be similar to the Quad.
Looked at the Durangos first. Wow, nice seats!
Then I told the kids we needed to look at the Quads. I noticed a Black Dakota Quad Sport 4x4 that was dirtier than the one I had test drove only three days earlier. Couldn't be the same one...!?!?!?
Walked up, looked at the window sticker. Hmmm, 01, 4.7, overhead, leather, cd/cassette, WHOA...LEATHER??? Looked inside and couldn't believe my eyes. This quad was only three options short of what I had ordered and I was looking at a (pick a number), 3, 6, or 8 week wait. It was loaded, minus options I had ordered; alarm, 4 wheel ABS and steering audio controls, and those I didn't; block heater, 3.92 axle, f/t transfer case.
Gears turning, thought process, mind racing, Explorer already sold, no multi-week wait, missing items could be considered "non-essential" options.....
Took it for a drive. Was completely in shipping plastic yet. Rippppppped the plastic off that aromatic leather, got in, turned the key. Vroooom. Odometer read 1 mile. Cool. Hmmm, found out it had arrived yesterday (8/14).
Consider it SOLD!!!
To make what already a long story short, I pick it up tomorrow and saved over $800 due to a few less options. I'll use that to buy a few accessories.
Based on feedback posted here, I'll be looking at things pretty close before driving it off the lot. This forum has been a great help and I'll continue to post feedback and look forward to reading others.
Hey fatfenders - congrats on that excellent timing. Can you post photos when you get that puppy home? Dying to see the 01 4x4 Sport before I order an 01 4x4 SLT!!! And, of course, love to see what the leather looks like, even though I'm fairly certain I'll be getting cloth. congrats again. enjoy your brand new quad!
I'm about 99% sure I'll get a QC when I return to the US next year. Since I am in Korea I am limited to viewing internet pictures and all the "Amber Fire" vehicles seem different. If you translated "Amber Fire" into plain English, would you call it copper? orange? metallic orange? something else? Thanks......
Just a note of caution to fellow owners in search of aftermarket accessories at the lowest possible price... You get (or in my case, DON'T get) what you pay for.
I set out in early July to find a good free-flow exhaust system, settled on a Borla and contacted the manufacturer directly for recommendations on retail distributors offering good prices. I was promptly directed to one outfit in Dallas called The Off-Road Shop.
Called them on July 25 to obtain a price. They did indeed offer a low price. The fellow on the phone (I'll call him "Tom" to protect identity) was extremely helpful, very judicious in getting the right part number... and even more so in getting my credit card number. I was informed that the manufacturer was about a week behind on production of that exhaust kit, that it would be drop shipped from the factory, and that I should call back in a week to verify the shopping date, etc.
The fellow was incredibly friendly... Unfortunately, I'd forgotten that some of the friendliest people I've ever met have also been incompetent.
Called back on 8/7 to verify, but "Tom" was unavailable. Instead, another counterman checked the order, verified that it had been entered and that the system "should be on its way."
Still no UPS man in my drive on 8/15, so I called to speak with "Tom." Again he was unavailable, but "Ron" (also ficticious) promptly stepped in to help. Here's where the fun begins...
"Ron" indicated that the system should have shipped, then gave ME (the "customer") Borla's phone number so that I (the "customer") could follow up... Have I missed something, or isn't it the responsibility of the retailer who takes your money to do the follow-up on ordering, shipping, etc.?????
So... I called Borla. The result? No such order had ever been placed.
Totally frustrated, I called The Off-Road Shop back and reported my findings to "Ron." He said he'd "get right on it," and call back within 10 minutes.
An hour later, no call. I called back again, and "Tom" answered. He vaguely recalled the order as I explained the screw-up. He assured me that he had "pull" with the factory, would take care of the situation and call back within 10 minutes.
15 minutes later, the phone rang and it was "Tom" to explain that a new system would need to be built... No apology or explanation for the initial screw-up... Just a proposal that I endure the same song-and-dance number again.
NOT! The order was withdrawn.
So... The result of trying to deal with a "best price" distributor actually cost me far more in time/money than I could possibly have saved.
Aside from "venting," there was a familiar lesson here... If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
So, back to the drawing board. I'll source another more local distributor, give Borla a chance to prove the superiority of its product, and "thank" the friendly folks in Dallas for teaching me a lesson!
I got my first 1k under my belt the other day. For those who wondered about the new interior, I have to say it is great. Those who want to add a different stereo can probably trim the corners to make it fit. The opening looks the same size, but with round corners. I am more and more amazed at how well they did a bunch of minor things to improve the feel of the controls. The turn signal has indents that make it much more natural to use. The new steering column uses a better lever to make tilt adjustments. The base radio controls are better and the A/C controls are nicer. I still miss the larger glove box, but the dash front and top are so much cleaner looking. The instrument dash is masked to isolate the instruments visually and looks decent. All of the idiot lights are in the same location, but is framed and labeled 'information center'. The new floor console works a lot better to hold drinks and odds and ends. I kind of wish that there was a way to put a pull out cup holder in the fold down seat back.
The overhead console is a quandry. Except for the lights, it is just there without much function for my lifestyle.
Has anyone installed a CB in ther Dakota? I am still trying to figure out a way to do this without it being slapped in there. On my F150, I had room between the seat and the console to mount it with almost no visibilty, yet fully functional. I am abouit ready to try and mount it in the seatback console.
I do have the factory alarm system. I've never noticed a correlation between rain and the locks going haywire because it's been pretty dry for months here in CA. I suppose a good wash with a hose might get some moisture into the switch though if it wasn't sealed very well.
Before you bite on that (cold air sysetm) Think about making one yourself. Looking at the (sysetm) they have come up with it is simply a different air filter and does nothing for ram air or the removal of the (hat) which holds heat on top of the engine. The system I built looks smoother than the one I saw pictures of here in this forum. No offense to the builder of that system, he did a great job, It is just that the schedule 40 pipe looks kinda bulky. I will try to find the part numbers of the materials I used and post again. I do not have a scanner or any way to post pictures but the system looks factory and costs about $5.00 plus a can of high heat engine paint and a K&N air filter. I even reuse the factory flex hose and clamps. I have made several of these and everyone seems to like them.
Thanks, I hoped to get a response from the poster of the original ram air system I read about...Question, though, isn't the flex hose part of the air flow problem? Did your system add the cone style K&N or the flat replacement for the OEM filter ? (I already tried that, not much diference) I'll keep checing both this board and the accesories boards hoping you'll put up those instructions....Thanks again
I have a 4.7L/3.55/4x4/5sp/loaded except for tow package, and i averaged 16mpg with mixed driving and i didnt baby it a bit....I changed the air filter out a few weeks ago and have gotten around 18 the last 5 tanks....I think the problem is more with the CA emmissions equipment which weight a considerable amount, and also cuts HP around 5hp or so.....Also the "clean" gas in CA is [robably "watered-down" and not helping you cause much....
Hi! I have 4.7, auto,4x4. So far(14000 miles) I've been running on regular gas just as manual recommends. The gas mileage isn't great, 15/gal. Few days ago I decided to try premium gas and I was really surprised. The truck is more quite, engine runs smoother no valve knocking during rapid acceleration and economy improved by 15-20%. I wonder what harm it can do to the engine or something else. I heard that addictives in premium gas can damage injectors. What's your opinion. I'll let you know more specifics about gas mileage after I finish this tank. Now, about the boxer(sorry guys) I'm thinking of getting one. Is it really so bad with puppies. How old is yours, and what do you think about the breed. What's the difference between male and female, besides an obvious one and which would you recommend. I'm just looking for some advice. Thank you!
Brought the new Quad home tonight and parked it next to the '94 Explorer. Really makes the Explorer look small! The truck was immaculate when I picked it up and that blask looks a mile deep. Unfortunately, within three hours it started to rain. Drove it anyway as it IS a truck after all.
asta, I'll see what I can do about posting pictures. I have a (cheap) digital camera that should work OK for this. Unfortunately, there may not be much contrast due to black dash and dark slate leather interior. I'll try additional lighting.
The leather seats don't seem to be as firm as the cloth variety. 6-way power adds LOTS of adjustability to seat position. I'm 6'1" with pretty long legs and I can actually adjust the seat too far from the pedals. Not possible in the Explorer.
Put on only 34 miles tonight as I needed to get presets on stereo set and setup door opener buttons. I was pretty much babying it around town through a range of speeds. Got on it once, just a little, on an entrance ramp to a highway. Wow, this 4.7 FLIES! I have a '56 Ford F-100 with a Chevy 327 and I dare say, the Dodge has more pull...I call it the WOW factor.
More updates later as I must get some sleep. Didn't get much last night as all I could think about was my new toy.
Happy Quading, fat_fenders
PS. Noticed lot's of heads turning as I drove around. Haven't seen too many QCs on the roads around Madison, WI yet.
I have a boxer now as well, a male, and have had a female previously. Both of them are terrific dogs. They are great family dogs, my 2-year old son and Jake, the boxer, are best buddies. They are very friendly to strangers once they perceive there are no threats, yet they are great protectors.
My mom was "saved" by our female twice. Once a convicted rapist tried to enter the house when she was alone. Needless to say, he left with a piece of pants in my dog's mouth. The other time my mom was driving a temporary cleaning woman home with the boxer asleep in the back seat. When my mom went to pay her, the woman decided to up her fee by almost double. A heated argument started. The dog woke up, sensed danger, jumped over the front seat and stood between my mom and the cleaning woman with teeth baring and growling. The cleaning lady suddenly felt she was adequately compensated and departed rather quickly out the door.
Boxers take about 3 years to mature. Until then, they are big puppies. Other than size, males and females are similar in disposition.
And to keep this legal for the owner's forum, my boxer loves to ride in my 00 Quad,(in the back seat of course!).
I picked up my new 4x4 SLT+ QC this am and have driven it about 50 miles so far at 65-70 mph. What a great ride!! I have the Taupe interior and I think it's a little better than the mist gray in the 2000's. It has a little more brown in it, but appears to still have a grayish tint. Drives great on the road. And parks a whole lot easier than the old Dodge Ram. One thing though, the tires would be great for a 2wd, but are not much help for a 4x4 off road. May have to do something about that. Anyway, I am now an official QC owner. Thanks to all those on this sight which helped with my decision to purchase. I don't think I'll regret it.
Not to whine too much, but nobody responded to my earlier post (#347). As soon as I can price our desired options accurately (basically waiting for Edmunds to publish 2001 prices) we will negotiate and order the vehicle. Being overseas, we don't know what some of the colors actually look like. Our future quad's color is THE BIG ISSUE in our family. If Amber Fire is really "copper" then everyone will be happy. If it turns out to be "orange" then I will no doubt suffer severe retribution for years to come.
Amber Fire is NOT copper. Amber is a color. If you can rent movies in Korea rent Jurassic Park. There is a part where they show some insects entombed in amber. (I believe is is petrified tree sap). Go down to Itawon and check out the jewelry stores, there should be some amber in the jewelry stores (Thats if you are in Seoul) I spent some good times there in the late 70's. I also thought www.4adodge.com had color samples on the site. From what I've seen you either like it or you hate it, not many feelings in between. I've seen it and personally don't think I'd care for it over the long run, but then my favorite is white. My wife laid down the law when we bought our Quad and said NO WHITE, so we ended up with Light Driftwood Satin Glow. Life is full of compromises.
Just for your info. My brother was in Germany in 1994 and priced a car through Chrysler Overseas Sales. I checked with my dealer in Omaha, Nebraska and saved him over $500 by ordering the same exact vehicle in the US. Do you know where you will be stationed when you return? If so see how much a dealer in that area will sell you a Quad. Rick
My 2000 Quad Cab is Amber Fire Pearl, and I love it (actually, my bride chose the color). Rick is correct on the two schools of thought: Love it or hate it. It is a bit difficult to describe, but a metallic copper with a golden hue, or maybe a metallic pumpkin with a coppery hue. Oh what the Hell, I'm color blind anyhow. My wife says that if you hate orange, you may hate Amber Fire. The best bet is to have someone in the States send you a color chip or brochure. Sorry for the confusion, but it seems to be indescribable.

Keep on Quadin',

PS. My wife took a test drive in a 2001 QC 4X4. She commented that the ride is comparable to her '97 LHS, maybe smoother??? I hope she doesn't want to trade!!!
Good luck!!

Thanks,

Suggested Retail.......$28,600
Paid...................$25,800
WOOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOO!
When I ordered the Quad, the dealers said the seats are the same as the Durango. Never compared (duh) - just wanted them. Will fill in more tomorrow. Gotta go count dakotas - I mean sheep.
Thanks, Scott
Other than that, I love my QC!!!
Does your QC have the factory installed security system? I'm curious if this problem is limited to the security system or to all keyless entry systems or to any QC's with power locks only.
Good Luck.

Be careful out there!
I am abouit ready to try and mount it in the seatback console.
going haywire because it's been pretty dry for months here in CA. I suppose a good wash with a hose might get some moisture into the switch though if it wasn't sealed very well.

Thank you!
asta, I'll see what I can do about posting pictures.

PS. Noticed lot's of heads turning as I drove around. Haven't seen too many QCs on the roads around Madison, WI yet.
