    Fix-A-Flat cans carry a warning against use in vehicles which utilize tire sensor technology (as AWD Sienna does), because Fix-A-Flat "may block tire sensors and cause them to be inoperable."

    Some tire places won't repair a tire that's been sealed with Fix a Flat because of a hazard of explosion.

    It's your own choice, of course. You can google your own research about Fix a Flat warnings and dangers.

    Hey, everybody! I've been following this thread for over a year, yes over a year. Just wanted to tell you about my deal on my 2009 Sienna FWD Limited I'm going to pull the trigger on tonight:
    Cash Delivered Price: $34536.50
    Processing Fee $89.50
    Taxes $2598.87
    OTD: $37224.87

    MSRP on this vehicle was $39545, Invoice was $35665. Options include Floor mats, Dynamic laser cruise control and HID headlights, Limited package 2, daytime running lights, and power 3rd row seat. :shades:

    A few counter points. You wouldn't want to repair a tire, you would to replace it, so that is a non-issue. How in the world would you repair a tire that's been filled with fix-a-flat anyway? You would have to be a real cheapskate to do that, IMO. Plugging a hole in a tire is not advised. In addition, sidewall punctures can't be repaired anyway.

    In regards to the tire sensor being damaged, I would think that when you replaced the tire (not repair), the sensor gets either cleaned or replaced. Not sure how that works.

    I went for the 0% 36 month financing. I have the money to pay for it but have it sitting in 6% return savings certificates. Can earn more on that interest than the $1000 rebate offered, so I did the financing. I even put the taxes into the 0% - but I have to admit that normally I'm not into financing. I hate the burden of the monthly payments normally.

    Molle Toyota, Kansas City, MO was my dealer, very easy to deal with the internet sales manager there. I test drove the vehicle upon arrival at dealership, paperwork was ready to go, finance manager wasn't high pressure. I did not purchase any warranty but might do so at a later date. I would recommend this dealership to family or friends - but I recommend to always be on guard at any dealership.

    For what it is worth, I did have another offer of $34400 plus $129 doc fee, plus taxes and no other fees, but the dealership didn't have the actual vehicle in stock and they were quite a bit further from my home. (Molle Toyota's price was $97 higher - not much different when you consider you're spending $34K plus on a vehicle. And he threw in an extra wireless headset as an added incentive.) Plus, this other dealership called me at home when I had requested in my quotes that I be reached only by e-mail - they got a little too aggressive for me.

    Love the Slate Metallic - sparkles and even has a hint of blue in it depending on the lighting. What a beautiful vehicle - it feels almost decadent to have it in my garage! I don't feel worthy of this vehicle! :blush:

    My wife and I just bought a Certified 2005 XLE with 51K, package #7 (DVD, moonroof, leather), spoiler and rubber mats for $16481.

    Just bought a new 2009 LE with alloys, value package #2, floor mats and windshield de-icer. This is a pretty standard configuration and we had no trouble finding several dealers who carried this exact car. We ended up buying from Battlefield Toyota in Culpeper Virginia and really got great service and zero hassle! List price on this Slate beauty was $27,950. My offer (with $1000 rebate) was $23,900 plus TTL based on other VA and MD dealers just up the road. We settled on $25,125 OTD, which was within my comfort zone. Essentially $4000 off the list. I couldn't be happier. Don't pay one cent more!!

    We are looking for a 2009 Sienna LE 8-passenger with Roof DVD, Windown Tilt, Carpet mats, Security system upgrade, Daytime running, and Alloy whells. We are planning to do the trade-in with a 2005 Corolla LE (KBB trade-in value $10,000) and were offered drive-out of $20,000 with 0% APR (that would make the price of the Sienna be about $30,000). Does it seem too bad a deal?
    Another dealer offered $21,000 drive-out for a Sienna with all options above besides leather interior upgrade. Thank you so much for your comments. Please also advise how much is reasonable for me to negotiate with the dealers. BTW, I'm in Houston, Texas.

    Just my .02. Offer no more than invoice and tell them you'll run it by others if they don't take it. As far as the trade in goes, you know it complicates your sale in a way that allows them to shuffle numbers around so be sure you've valued your trade in properly. If you can sell your trade in privately, all the better. Taking the 0% is good, its at least worth $2000 to you in savings, possibly more, depending on what kind of rate you can get on financing. Don't let the deal know you give it that kind of value, they will only give $500 or so lieu of, but it worth more than any rebate Toyota is offering. Get a couple of price quotes out of your immediate area. Remind the dealer (you'll be dealing with the manager at this point, no a salesmen) that they're going to make money off the maintenance of your car, but if you buy a Ford or Honda, they'll make zip-o. It has help push deals using that threat!!

    Sounds like you are falling into the classic trap of negotiating your trade in at the same time as negotiating your new car. First agree on new car price, and only then negotiate your trade in. The best way to do this is through the internet sales department.

    I agree with the post that reminds us to negotiate the price first. We used the internet for all our negotiations up until the last day. Every dealer in the country will use email, and they will all complain and try and get you to either come in or call. Don´t fall for it. Tell them you prefer email and you are dealing with several dealers (name them)
    Right now you can expect nearly $5000 off any Sienna that lists for more than $30,000. An LE with DVD and the other options mentioned shouldn´t be much more than 30,000. Look at Carmax.com in Maryland. They have the best prices i´ve seen, and no other dealer should be charging one cent more. Texas included. Your sale price with $1000 rebate on a 30,000 car should be approx 25 or 26K. Get the price first and then once you settle introduce the salesman to your possible trade in. A good MPG Corolla is worth alot!

    A new 09 CE is only 22,000 right now. Get a used 07 or 08 LE with 24,000 miles or so for about 19K. Look around. Check every car dealers web site within 150 miles of your home. Most dealers have all their used cars online with photos and starting places for price. In this awful economy you need to negotiate with the knowledge that the car dealer is struggling. They NEED your business.

    I followed the donkeypunch method, I am new here, and I have gotten a couple of offers on 09 Sienna CE's at $21,867 and $21,839, both of which are below the no haggle price listed by Carmax ($22,168), all three of which start with a $26,060 MSRP, and include a $1,500 Mfr. rebate. How much better can I do or do you think these are all no haggle offers?

    You know the thing about, "how much better can I do............" is its a moving target. It's different from region to region, but also dealer to dealer, car to car (even within the same model!!) and, of course, from month to month, year to year and possibly day to day. Having said that, you can only do the best you can by comparing known offers to each other. That the beauty of the Internet and email, you can "deal" with more people over a larger territory and have written proof to should (if necessary) to make your case. Having said that, where is plenty of anecdotal evidence on this forum that not every dealer will live you to thier written commitments/offers. As such, once you have decided to take an offer, nail down with as much detail as possible before showing at the dealer with checkbook in hand. Get them to make the offer on a particular auto, with the VIN as referenced in thier offer. If you intend to buy thier finance, make sure their price reflects that. Also if you intend to buy the extended warranty, than negotiate that also with the price. From what I've read here the price has a lot of room negotiation, get a discount as part of the total package before you take thier offer, otherwise expect the hard sell and no discount from the finance guy when you close. Good luck, and be an informed consumer. :)

    I'm in NC and looking to buy a Sienna on Monday. So far, my best offer is $28,342.60 plus 3% nc sales tax($925.60) + Title and Registration ($399) + Tag ($69) =$29,735.88 OTD. This includes XLE with package #3 (DVD), fog lamps and alloy wheels.

    Looks better than TMV on here, but I keep thinking that with this economy I really ought to be able to do better. Thoughts?

    Hi all -- new here. We're looking at '09 LE Siennas in Arizona. Here's the lead-off offer we've received for the LE with EVP #2, daytime running lights, and all mats ($270???) is $23,937. Edmunds says invoice on this is $24,721, and TMV is $26,664 less a $1,000 Toyota incentive.

    So, $23,937 would be around $200 over invoice, if this is correct.

    Any thoughts? Thanks!!

    Bought a 06 CE with under 20K miles for $15.5K with added DVD and window tinting added plus repaint of fender (minor scratches). I would have liked a few hundred more on my trade-in, but still feel like I got a good deal. I did get 2 oil changes added in as well.

    Sounds like in the current market, offers of invoice should be where you get the car. Certainly try for invoice, negotiate with an under invoice offer and see how it goes. Are you all getting the 0% financing at these prices?? Expect the dealers to be incredulous, until you head for the door and tell them your heading for the Honda dealer. Even if they break even they will make good money on the service(assuming it a local dealer). Be sure to tell them that as you "leave" for brand X.

    Does anyone know the current state of incentives? The TMV report lists $1,000, but the Edmunds current incentives pages lists $3,000 cash to consumer.

    Also, one salesman indicated good lease and APR rates thorough Toyota finance, but that's not listed either.

    Recently shopped for a LE with following options in Dallas Area - EVP Pkg #2, 16" Alloy Wheels and Daytime running lights - Invoice seen is around $25,100 - dealers are quoting in the range $26,500 to $27,500 (excluding TTL) - i.e. at least a $1000+ over invoice (in this market!!!!!!!!!).

    Talk to them about $25,500 - they really get mad - use high pressure tactics and various sales techniques to keep the price at $26,500 and make you believe that $26,500 is the cheapest price - When I refused to pay more than $25500 and walked out - they are really fuming........

    When I was there - in these dealerships - I see a maximum 2 or 3 customers at any given time.

    Later went to Honda dealer - Pleasure to deal with - Got a 2008 Odessey EX-L - Invoice $29,830 (TMV 27,830) - Got for $26,500 (with all dealer installed options such as mudguard, wheel locks, pin stripe etc) - On the road around $29,000.

    People were constantly coming in and going out - definitely more traffic at Honda dealership (than at Toyota)
    When drove out my Odessey - 4 odessey's left their lot (including mine) !!!!!!!!!

    I am in the market for the 2009 Sienna LTD FWD. The dealer in Chicago area is asking for 35,500 as the final price plus the tax and the doc fee. Is that a reasonable price or I can do better? Please advice, thanks in advance.

    The auto market as a whole is in tough shape. However, I don't think Toyota or Honda are having any problems selling their Siennas and Odysseys. From what I've read, those sales haven't dropped off nearly as much as other vehicles. That's probably why we're not seeing a lot of smokin' deals on them.

    I joined this list last week and it was a great help. On Saturday, 11-22, I bought an 09 Sienna CE (base model - my wife didn't need any bells or whistles) for $21,555 + tax, title, license in Chicago area, which was $4,500 below MSRP and, according to Carmax site for exact same model, $2,352 below invoice. I don't know if the deal was better because this was the base model or not, but I was very happy with the deal. It included $1,500 Mfr. rebate. The salesman shook my hand on this number + tax, title, license and didn't mention the $150 doc fee, so I objected strongly when they tried to add this on. They begrudgingly added $150 to my trade value.
    I also went to Honda Saturday and they were dealing on 08 Odysseys but their base model 09 was stuck at about $24,500. I personally liked the base Sienna much better than the base Odyssey too.
    I qualified for a low interest rate with Capital One before heading to the dealers, which I strongly recommend, because the dealer beat that rate, which was 5.47 for 60 months. Without this, I am sure the best quoted rate from dealer would have been higher, because they make money on these deals with finance companies also. I hope this info helps.

    I just bought a sienna last night. FWD LE, EVP #1 w/ running lights, de-icer and floor mats. MSRP is $27,505. My negotiated and paid price $22,880. So nearly $5000 off of MSRP is possible. (this included the $1000 incentive to New England dealers)

    I got my prive by calling around to at least 7-8 dealers around the Boston area. I told each one what my best price so far was, and gave them the chance to beat it. Offers were from about $24,500 to the one I choose. Only important distinction is that I was very upfront about planning to pay cash. Discuss any trade-in AFTER settling on a price. Make the dealership compeat against each other and you can get a great deal right now.

    Hi. Call around, make sure you get under 23,000. (just bought LE FWD with MSRP 27,505, for 22,880 + tax near Boston Mass) run that # by them but don't say where the dealer is.

    Why was it important for you that you told the dealers that you were paying cash? I thought that dealers preferred financing, since it meant that they got some kind of bonus for selling a financing contract. Is that accurate? Are you supposed to get a better deal with or without financing(even at 0%)?

    In theory, at least, the credit crisis has made companies hungry for cash. Also, the companies lose money if they offer 0% financing- thats why many of the incentives are cash back OR 0% financing- one or the other. Today more than any time I can remember, cash is king.

    You're right about everything you said. But I thought I remembered reading in a few posts that the dealer wants you to finance, since they get a kickback if you do. And in every case, we have to deal with the dealer, not the actual Toyota company, who is losing the money. The dealer could care less. Well, I'll have to test it out!

    Get several offers via email/dealer quote page. DON'T MAKE OFFER make them post a price .In current market, depending on area, you should be able to get +- dealer invoice. Use this website's info to determine what that is. Expect a lot of theatrics when you finally make an offer. Don't argue, tell them you can buy the car else where and you may just get the Honda instead, cutting them out of any future maintenance. Good luck

    If your looking on this forum for help, do your self a favor, read past posts, at least a months worth. If you post info about a particular car and its options, price out it first on the Edmund's invoice pages. Ignore their pricing suggestions, they are usually too high if you do your homework. Assuming your trying to get the best price, figure to not make any friends at the dealerships to negotiate with. Don't pay their game, DON'T MAKE AN OFFER until you have received several prices from several dealers. How many?? How hard do you want to work?? How much is it worth to you to save $500, $250?? Less?? Don't forget the added BS they like to add on the contract after the handshake. Hear it before you agree on a price. Get their price to include everything other than state tax/title charges. If your buying extended warranty, same thing, do it now and beat down the price (ask before you get to deep into negotiation). Same with finance. If your going for 0%, bring it up from the beginning. If not, be sure you believe the benefit of not taking it is worth the discount for doing so.
    If you post info here don't muddle the post with your taxes and title charges, just the price offered less above and the options included. Remember, dealer closing costs are just another way to raisethe price, don't dismiss them as "part of doing business" its a cost to you, include it in your figures when comparing dealers offers.

    OK, closed a deal with a local dealer here... 30,700 including destination fees for 09 Sienna with package #4 and a bunch of other small things like tow prep, fog lights, 17in wheels, and carpets.
    Also includes 2.9% financing. Took that instead of the 1500 rebate.

    Taxes extra.

    This is about 6K below MSRP. How did I do?

    Well, we pulled the trigger today on an 09 XLE with package #3. We opted not to do the $1500 rebate and take the 0% financing instead. Cost of the car: $28932. I think we were so relieved to get that done that we also said "yes" to the 7/75K extended warranty for $1695. We are having buyers' remorse over that (spouse thought I was going to say something, and I thought HE was going to say something, so that just kinda slide by.

    What are the opinions about the extended warranty? it seems that from reading some posts the extended warranty doesn't seem to be worth much. thanks,

    AWD is overrated. Front wheel drive with good studless snow tires are what you need. AWD does not help you when cornering or braking, which is when most accidents in the snow happen.

    You should cancel the extended warranty. At that price, its a rip off. You can get the same extended warranty online from Greenville Toyota for $945. PM me if you need details.
