What was the MSRP on the '09?
  • alan6499alan6499 Member Posts: 4
    The msrp is 27,695
  • nobonobo Member Posts: 305
After your post of MSRP, looks like about 3K savings.

I have just started looking at Siennas. I have gotten 4 quotes so far on 2010 XLEs and all have been discounted approximately $3000. That for an '10 model. SW OH.

I am finding very few Toyota vans in inventory.

Origionally was shopping for Odyssey. At one time they were 6K off MSRP, but incentives ended earlier this month.

Its a 2010 le with evp # 2 msrp 27850....quoted for 24697 good or bad deal or can i get better in ohio?
  • ygwygw Member Posts: 2
It's a great deal. I am also looking for an XLE in MA. Can you let me know the dealership name, if you don't mind?
    Thanks!

Hi - Sure. It's IRA Toyota of Milford. Best car buying experience I've ever had. I emailed them a request for quote from their website and got a very good price. Another dealer offered a slightly lower price and Milford agreed to match. They were honest, upfront and there were no games. The sales manager approved the price over email. Good luck. I was very pleased - I got $4200 off MSRP and $3500 for my cash for clunkers car.

Hi- a dealer in upstate NY quoted me the following for a 7 passenger LE FWD with option package #2 and alloy wheets--any thoughts on if either is a good deal? I'm willing to drive within ~3 hrs of Albany, NY if any recommendations.

"The 2009 that I have here was a demo car (3600 miles) and has Package #2 with Alloy Wheels and floor mats--I can sell it to you for $25,755 plus sales tax and DMV. For the 2010, I can sell one to you for $26,455 plus sales tax and DMV."

NY currently has a $1000 rebate until August 3rd--can someone tell me how important it is to get in on a rebate--I'm wondering if they might mark up their cars an extra $1000 during the rebate period and you're paying the same anyway (or maybe I'm paranoid-please advise!)

    many thanks

I got quoted 24,697 for le package#2 in ohio and 355 toyota in md said bring my quote he will beat it....and thats for a 2010
  • s2kmr2s2kmr2 Member Posts: 28
Agreed, that's not a good deal. I am also on the hunt for a LE 7 Pass FWD with EVP 2 in the NYC area. All EVP 2s come with alloy wheels in this area. Some will have additional options like carpet which will total to about 28,000 in MSRP. I have gotten quotes of around 24,800 for such a equipped LE with EVP 2. And this is for brand new 2010, not 2009. Most dealers in the NYC area are out of 2009s.

rolz, where did you get that deal in NJ? I am trying to do better than 24,800.
  • airmanmj2001airmanmj2001 Member Posts: 15
I think the deal varies by region, but if you could get a 2010 model around the invoice price with no hassle right now, it should be good. Toyota normally don't run incentives on new Sienna models until the end.
  • goede921goede921 Member Posts: 5
s2kmr2---Does your $24,800 quote include the $1K rebate in NY right now? If not that sounds OK to me. I checked Consumer reports and they list a 2010 LE with option #2 and 16" alloy wheels as ~$24,700 invoice.

Can you let me know the location/dealer--maybe I can use this to negotiate with my upstate NY dealers. Or Rolz--any recommendation on your NJ dealer? thanks in advance!
  • goede921goede921 Member Posts: 5
wingsneck95--did you also get any salvage money for your cash for clunkers car? I read online that the dealer is also supposed to give you the "scrap value" for you vehicle--whatever that is. Also surprised you were able to cash in already--my dealer told me the gov is not rolling this out until 7/24 or possibly later. I have a '98 Jeep that I want to cash in and hoping the dealer will give me the $3500.
  • ygwygw Member Posts: 2
Thanks! I emailed them for a price quote and got a call back very soon. We might go there to take a look during this weekend.

    Thanks again!

24,800 has the 1000 rebate included. East coast toyota in northern NJ.
  • richardnvarichardnva Member Posts: 91
    gasser1,
thanks for your post, very informative.
This was the first time I've seen that the Sienna costs more to insure than the Odyssey. I'm guessing that it's due to the crash test results.

The lock out feature on the NAV is a real bummer. Nissan/Infiniti does the same thing. They should have an override feature or a sensor in the passenger seat.

I have an 05 Odyssey Touring and have been fairly satisfied with the exception of: PAX run flat tires, the brakes, road noise/suspension, fuel efficiency.

The PAX and the brakes have been discussed ad nauseum on this site so I want pile on there, but I really thought the fuel efficiency would be better with the adjustable cylinder engine (don't recall the technical name but our version shuts down half the cylinders under certain situations to save gas). I think we're averaging around 18 - 19 mpg, mostly city miles.
  • richardnvarichardnva Member Posts: 91
BTW: i just checked on insurance rates with USAA and there really wasn't much of a difference. I checked on a 2010 Sienna Limited and 2010 Odyssey Touring and the monthly difference was only a dollar between the two. So if you haven't purchased one yet and you're trying to make a decision, check with your insurance company first since it looks like the premiums may vary widely from one company to another.

I would like to purchase a Sienna LE with EV Package #2 and floor mats. I'm in northern VA and have been in contact with several dealers. The best number I have had is a base price $25970 plus tags, taxes and title.. The price does include destination charges.

I feel like I can be doing better, but cannot seem to make any head way... What do you think?

I have 2 lease payments remaining on my 07 Honda Odyssey. I am interested in getting the 2010 Sienna. I would really like to get into a new van sooner, but am not sure how a dealer works with the lease and the 2 payments remaining? Any ideas?

I test drove the LE today with option 2, loved it so much more than my current Odyssey. The saleslady said that they could go much lower than the price listed on the sticker which was $28,190. What would be a fair price for this van?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi

We are interest in purchasing a 2009 Sienna LE with the QP package. We live in Central new Jersey ( East Brunswick / Edison area.
    1. Does anyone have any good/bad experiences with any dealers in that area
    2. what should we expect to pay?
Does it pay to wait for the 2010 models - what upgrades are there and what would i expect to pay vs the 2009

    thanks in advance

Anyone out there with good intel on a new 2010 in the Denver area? I've called around & all I get is MSRP is the price. If you know of a deal or apt dealership, please advise. Thanks!
  • nobonobo Member Posts: 305
Don't know about CO, but in SW OH some dealers will take $2500 to $3000 off 2010 MSRP when internet buying. Inventory very sparse on Siennas here.
  • nobonobo Member Posts: 305
Personally, I would not pay anything more than MSRP minus 5,000 for 2009. Once purchased, the 2009 will be used and a 2009 model.

In my area of OH the 2009s are almost gone. Most are the 2010 models. Some dealers are discounting the 2010's by $2500 to $3000 for internet sales.
  • airmanmj2001airmanmj2001 Member Posts: 15
5000 under might be a too hard to get, even on 09s. But if you can get it, jump on it. I got a quote on 09 for about 1200 under dealer invoice, but they are more than 300 miles away, and have been on dealership lot for a good 9-10 months. So, I passed that and settled for an 2010 LE for invoice price. Figured better off to get a 1-yr newer model for about 1k more.
  • dsmguydsmguy Member Posts: 23
how is it that some people are getting under invoice? I went to a dealer in Des Moines, Iowa and the best they would offer on a 2010 XLE EVP#2 was invoice. Didn't buy the car for 2 reasons. No incentives on the 2010....waiting on those. 2nd reason was they were charging me for the manf. rebate of $700 as part of the invoice. Kept arguing with the sales guy about that. Unless my math is wrong, if you're buying the van from the factory for 25K (using rounded numbers) and there's a $500 factory rebate, why are you telling me the customer that the invoice is 25,500? Shouldn't the true invoice me 24,500 since the dealer is getting $500 from the factory. Instead, I told him he was "double dipping". Padding the invoice by $500 when the dealer will be getting $500 from the factory. Isn't that a $1000 gain?
  • airmanmj2001airmanmj2001 Member Posts: 15
Are you talking about the dealer holdback? No rebate on 2010s. They pay that to get the car, and then receives the holdback once sold. They count that as their cost to get you the vehicle.
  • dsmguydsmguy Member Posts: 23
yep. dealer holdback. ok, that would make more sense. If they're paying the factory 25,500 (25K plus 500 holdback) but get the money back after the van is sold, that would make sense. Then the sales guy was an idiot in not understanding or explaning it. I asked him flat out what they paid to the factory and he said 25K (not 25,500). If it were 25K, then it would be double dipping. Thanks for the clarification airmanmj2001 :)

I have gotten the following quote on a 2009 AWD Sienna's and would like to get others impressions.

    2009 LE AWD

    Extra Value pkg 2

    Daytime running lights

    Tow pkg

    MSRP $31,175

    Your price is $28,686 + Oregon lic/title

    2009 XLE AWD

    Extra value pkg 3

    JBL pkg

    Fog lights

    Tow pkg

    MSRP $36,120
    Your price is $32,917 + Oregon lic/title

They do have some of the XLE’s without the EVP pkg 3 that would knock off about $1000.
  • airmanmj2001airmanmj2001 Member Posts: 15
We all know that there are dishonest sales guys out there trying to rip as more from customers as possible. When Honda was offering the $2500 incentive on the Odyssey last month, a sales person said they normally would only pass $1000 on to the customers. I just walked out the door after hearing that. I'm in Twin Cities MN. So I guess invoice price is fair in this region for 2010s. TMV is much higher.

Got a few quotes for 2010 Sienna in NC The best one is 31237.75 OTD. Is this price good enough? What is the dealer fee listed below? Thanks.
    Estimated Pricing*
    MSRP
    Base $29,725.00
    Options $1,824.00
Manuf. Delv, Proc, & Hndlg $795.00

    Subtotal $32,344.00
    Dealer Fees $570.00

    Total $32,914.00

    I assume 3% tax = 937, Admin fee =400, Tag=80? Seems like I got 3000 off MSRP?
  • edong1edong1 Member Posts: 3
Forgot to mention, it is XLE
  • nobonobo Member Posts: 305
That is similiar to what I have been quoted on a 2010 XLE. 3K off MSRP.
  • goede921goede921 Member Posts: 5
Hi--I have an offer for a 2010 LE, 7 passenger, evp#2, alloy wheels, and floor mats for $24900 + tax/tags ($25900 - $1000 cash back incentive in NY). Appreciate and advice on if this is a good deal (Consumer reports says the invoice is ~24,700).
  • hot2004hot2004 Member Posts: 26
I received quotes from all nearby dealers in central NJ. I am planning to purchase XLE AWD 2010 by this monthend. Quotes are different for each dealer as the packages are not same.
All dealers have 2010 in-stock, not 2009. If you are interested, provide me your email id, let us form a team, we may able to negotiate better deal.
  • hot2004hot2004 Member Posts: 26
I do not think the offers you got are good enough. I have received similar or better quotes for 2010 XLE AWD with EVP # 3. The prices are $3500 to $4000 below MSRP (includes MSRP of packages). These quotes includes $1000 rebate for 2010 model.
  • meriminimerimini Member Posts: 4
Hi guys, I got couple of quotes from Washington DC area dealers. Best so far I got is 2010 XLE + pkg 3 is 29k + (tax, tag &title). Appreciate any advice/comment on the price.
I have another question, does XLE Pkg 3 includes Pkg 2 + Pkg1 options?
  • nobonobo Member Posts: 305
Briefly XLE Pkg 1 = Leather and heated front seats.
    Pkg 2 = Pkg 1 plus moonroof
    Pkg 3 = Pkg 1 + Pkg 2 plus rear DVD.
Other small goodies in each pkg.

29K sounds pretty good. What is msrp?
  • meriminimerimini Member Posts: 4
Invoice price is $30k and msrp is $33k
  • nobonobo Member Posts: 305
So, Invoice less the $1000 cash? If I were buying that model I would jump on it. In my area only $500 cash back and very few vans in inventory.
  • yuan107yuan107 Member Posts: 5
Hi, I am in the same area as you. I am in the market for a 8-passenger sienna and going to buy it by this monthend too. Can you forward the quotes to me? Thanks

I am looking to buy either a sienna or odyssey. I want an 8 passenger with dvd, etc and am having a hard time getting the salespeople to lwr prices. Is anyone willing to email me actual quotes they are getting? As they are more willing to deal when they can 'beat' a previous quote. . I am getting about $3-4k below MSRP for 2009's, we are in south florida, but I have no problem going elsewhere to get one!

    Hello,
To get the best price and avoid wasting your time, gas and meeting people....
    Follow my Buying Suggestions.

    1) Do your online home work for the car, that you want ( re ability, spec, pricing....you can find a lot of info here in Edmunds or Truecar.com to check how much people they are paying for it .

    2) go to the nearest dealer to meet the car in person and go for test drive .( make sure that you really want it )
don t let the sales person push to buy .....just say i am checking the car.

    3) contact the internet sales department through their website .
Do not provide a phone number to avoid receiving 100 call a day
you will be receiving offers through your email.

Lets say you are buying sienna, email them back Ask this questions.
Its CE . LE XLE ???
    Its 2009 or 2010 ???
    its 7 or 8 passengers ???
which packages included in the price and what its included in this package ????
If there is any accessories there not included in the price ???
for how long this offer is valid.

only real deals will show up in your email box .
they will know you did your home work .

99% of the sales people, they just want you to come by to their dealership to push you to buy.they have different tactics .

just print the deal that you like make an appointment with the sales person.

before you leave your house/office make sure that the car still in stock for sale.
some of them when you get there they just say my coworker just sold it but i have other one.( other color ,or higher price )

    4) in the dealership
don t make an offer just ask him what its your best offer.

    good luck

Bamboo, will you please post the name of the dealership or email me your offer? I am ready to buy 2010 Sienna XLE EVP 4 this week and that would really help me out! I am in nor. cal, but could easily fly down to pick it up or use price to negotiate up here. The best price I have so far is through costco at folsom lake toyota for $32,461. Thanks in advance! Good job negotiating!
  • karenkjkarenkj Member Posts: 7
I'd be grateful to have the info emailed to me as well. I need an 8 passenger, so my only option is the LE package #3. I am at $1250 below invoice, looks like your deal is better!
