Has anyone purchased a new 2006 Touring recently? I'm thinking about getting a quote from a local dealership who has the following Odyssey on their website inventory. Not sure exactly what options come with it...I believe that it is the basic Touring. What should I expect to pay for a 2006 Touring.

    MSRP: $37,145.00
    Our Value Price: $37,145.00
    Documentation Fee: $275.00
    Title/Arbitration Fee: $25.00
    Your Price Today $37,445.00

The Touring model has only one option and that is the NAVIGATION. It comes with the Rear Entertainment System(RES). In your note you refer to a 2006 and I'm sure you mean 2007. My purchase last year of a brand new 2006 Touring WITH NAVI and RES was once again, $33,947 (incl. dest. and before tax). That was a good deal. I would not buy a 2007 for $37,145 even if it had the NAVI. That's over $3,000 more than I paid and not s good "value price" in my opinion. I've had a few things break already on this van and my opinion of the quality is going downhill. At least my PAX tires are holding up!

Try the brewster Honda or Clair in Boston. I just purchased there and drove back to NY. 27703 including destination and doc fees.

Me too - in the Largo/Seminole area. I'll let you know what I find if you will do the same. I'm also looking at the Toyota Sienna.

I am looking for this exact odyssey. I have not received a quote within $1,000 of this price. Where did you purchase from?
    Thanks!!

Thanks to this forum I was able to speak good numbers with a dealer. Wanted to pass along my deal on an EXL w/DVD - Slate Green Met./Gray leather.

Sale Price - $29,660 (w/ wheel locks & mud guards)
$399 doc fee, 3% tax, $69 new tag.

    Total OTD would be $31,017.80.

However, I had crossbars, moon visor, window visors and 3rd row sunshades added. Dealer installed these for an extra $915 plus 3% tax.

Total OTD selling price was $31,960.25. (3.9% finance)

    Good Luck to all..

Has anyone paid less than 36k for a new 2007 Touring w/ NAV/RES since February 2007? I see a few posts of people saying they got better deals at the end of 2006, but nothing from this year. I've yet to get a quote for less than $36,300, and have had dealers refuse to negotiate from 35k.
  • patolipatoli Member Posts: 3
The prices I list are without tax and license.
  • chirpchirp Member Posts: 194
My purchase of a 2006 Touring with NAVI/RES for $33,947 (including dest.) was in May of last year. It wasn't a year-end closeout deal by any means. Maybe wait a couple months and see how inventory/incentives go.

I bought 2007 odyssey touring w/NAV/RES on Feb 3, 2007 for a base price of 34,192+595 dest.(this price did not include title, tax, licennse). The dealer is OPEN ROAD HONDA, NEW JERSEY. The color is black exterior + ivory interior. Hope this information helps.

The dealer called and said an error had been made on the contract. They still honored the price though they were very unhappy about it.

Just starting the negotiations on a new 2007 EX. After getting quotes from 5 dealers (one local in Rochester, MN ; the others in the Minneapolis area), I sent the lowest quote back to the local dealer.

The following part of her response has me puzzled: "The price you listed of $26,342 is $100 below our old invoice price of $26,441 and is most likely for a van that was built in December or earlier."

What would the difference be, and why would/should I care?

    Thanks for the input.

Merlin...which state are you in? I paid about $240 under invoice for the dvd/res ex-l in NC, 3 weeks ago (Leith Honda, Raleigh). From other posts here, you should be able to get the vehicle for between $250-$500 under invoice without much effort. As we get closer to '08 release, you should probably be able to do even better. Invoice plus destination for that vehicle is actually $30,036.00

If you read back some messages, you'll see that invoice and holdback changed in January 07.

I'm going to look at a 2002 EXL w/ 68k miles, no DVD or Nav, from a dealer. He's agreed to come down to $13k. Does that sound like a pretty good deal?
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
Fair deal? Maybe, depending on service and ownership history.

    Pretty good deal? Nope
  • maxqmaxq Member Posts: 6
Please don't accept a price increase for the same model year vehicle. Invoice is $26,441 and if it changed in January, then I feel the consumer should not be penalized.

I bought my '07 EX on 2/27 and, yes it was manufactured in Lincoln, AL on 11/30, but who cares? Do they really believe that a car built in January is going to be any better or different and warrant a higher price? I don't think so. Average inventory time is 75 days. It costs dealer about $25-30 days. Let them know you are there to help them move a unit quickly.

If their invoice price goes up that is their problem not yours. Most dealers want to move a unit rather than wait for the uneducated consumer to pay them a large profit.

I paid $25,650, and given the recent March sales push and incentives, if you can wait 'til the last day in March, you should be able to get them even lower. Most folks want the EX-L, folks like you and I can help the dealer move the less popular EX. They want to treat you like a great customer, but you are really just a inventory unit. Use this to your advantage and make them meet your price quickly. Quicker they move the unit, the quicker they can get more vehicles in the lot. Inventory turns, everybody wins- factory, dealer, Honda finance, and ultimately the consumer.

    Hi All,

My local dealer claims they are running a special on a 2007 Honda Odyssey EXL w/o navigation or any other options b/c it has around 500 miles on it. They have it advertised in the paper for invoice. They told me in person that it is "on sale" at invoice. I see that many of you have purchased well under invoice (1-1.4K) and am familiar with holdback. They asked me to make an offer. Any suggestions on whatI should do??? I'm having a baby in 4 weeks so would love to get this done asap!

I was thinking 2K under invoice. This would put it around 27K. I'm not keen on the color at all but oh well. Thanks!!!

I was in the market for a EX-L with Nav and DVD which I ultimately bought for $30,680 including destination. During my shopping I was collecting EX-L and EX-L with DVD prices also as I wasn't completely sure what I was going to purchase. The lowest internet price (which means without any negotiation) was $27,670 including destination. The dealership was Planet Honda in NJ. Hope this information can serve as a point of reference for you.
  • jmoosejmoose Member Posts: 11
Can you say why you didn't buy from the lowest-priced dealer? Thanks.
  • mb6986mb6986 Member Posts: 30
Sorry if I wasn't clear. The $27,670 price was the lowest price for an EX-L. I did buy from the dealership that offered the lowest price for an EX-L NAV&DVD.
  • spartan3spartan3 Member Posts: 3
mb6986. Thank you so much for your reply. That is a good reference point for me.

If anyone else has any recent prices paid for EXL no navigation or DVD I would really appreciate it. Please see my post "Help Me Please EXL 2007 Odyssey"

    Again, thank you.
  • jmoosejmoose Member Posts: 11
Thanks. The reason for me pressing on this is I'm in search of an EXL with RES and Nav...I think basically the van you bought, and I'm looking in about the same geographic area (Westchester Co. NY or nearby)...so far a few quotes but still waiting for the 'winner', I think.
  • mb6986mb6986 Member Posts: 30
I bought from DCH Kay Honda in Eatontown and I found them very easy to deal with. I bought three cars from in 3 years if that means anything. You may want to give their internet department a chance to beat your best offer after you identify the "winner" in your search. Good luck.

If you're not crazy about the color or the mileage I would offer much less than that. You can get a brand new Ody for about $1000 under invoice so I would shoot for that on exactly what you want. As far as being pinched for time, I sent emails out on Tues PM,closed the deal on the phone Thurs AM, and picked up the van Fri AM. It's really not that hard of a process. Spent an hour or so reading back thru this thread since November or so and you'll get a wealth of info. Good luck w/ your purchase and let us know how it turns out.

Thanks to this forum, I was able to negotiate a good price for my EX-L which I picked last week. Here is what I paid for in Colorado:

Price: $30839 (incl. D&H, crossbar, 4 season mats, hood deflector, sunroof visor, window visor, mud guard)
    + tax

Tips: If a dealer is not willing to come down in price and you like the car, ask for accessories because they have high markup on accessories.
    cheers all.

WOW... your experience with Norris Honda in Dundalk was WAY different than mine. It was a hassle right from the beginning. I bought a Brand new Pilot. Talk about High Pressure !
I have purchased at least a dozen new cars in my time, and this is the very first time the salesman did not go over any of the features of the car whatsoever. And this is also the first time I never recvd a follow up thank you card an a phone call with "Thanks Again."

The service dept. is another story all togeather too.

They advertise that they will wash your car anytime you get service work performed. I have had it in 5-6 times so far. Adding on new accessories purchased from them, a couple of warranty items, and an oil change. They NEVER once washed my vehicle. I mentioned it to the service Mgr when I left after the oil change and he said to just stop by at my convenience and they wouold run it thru the wash rack.

Ok.... I stopped by a week later and was told that they "No longer wash cars for people. If I didn't like it, to talk to the general Mgr."

Ha..... I know where my next new car will NOT be from !

Ya... right... you guessed it. Norris Honda in Dundalk !!!

The price in 06 for this van was much better than it is now! We got a price for the same van in 06 that was 700+ less but the dealer could not find the color we wanted. He only had silver! So we had to wait several months until someone in the area got the color and unfortunately, a different dealer got the "right" color and would not negotiate much on price or match the other dealer that had the better price but the wrong color. We could have had a silver van many times over!! Too many silver vans imo, so we had to wait.

We paid 35784 before tags, taxes, dealer prep, etc.. in February to the dealer that got the right color. They would not negotiate off their stated internet price. According to the dealer, the Touring is in demand and they don't have to discount it more than they did. They get 1-2 a month - so they don't have the inventory and they don't have to wheel and deal and know it. We didn't get the 06 price, but under the circumstances, since I was emailing lots of dealers, I think we got a decent price. Good luck!

EX-L with DVD and Navi: 31696 (incl dest.)
    Cross Bars: 295
    Fenderwell trim: 159
    Music Link iPod: 350

Total for vehicle as purchased: $32,500 +TTL

Some seem to have gotten a little better, but this is Westechster County NY so we usually pay more. Thanks to all posters for insights!
  • noahsdadnoahsdad Member Posts: 31
    Like i posted earlier:
    EX-L dvd/nav 31,395
with rear sensors and a rear seat console 32491+TTL

    I can finance for 0.9 for 36 or 3.9 for 48

For tax purposes i need to lease and the monthly rates quotes are ridiculously high = 607 and 675 at two dealers for a 36/15K no money down. No matter how i fgure it, i can see how this lease is not closer to 525.

We have finally decided we want a 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L with Nav & DVD. Thanks to great suggestions on this forum, have begun email contacts with numerous dealers. Quotes from our immediate area have been high. So far, best offer has been $31,900 with OTD $33,214. Still seems high as I believe we have read others have gotten $1-1.5K below invoice which is $31,123 or so. Has anyone found better offers in Hampton Roads/Tidewater area of VA? Willing to travel to Richmond, Northern VA or into NC for the right price. Thanks.

We are looking to buy ODY Ex-L w/RES. Our first quote (at the dealership) was 35,000! After reading most of the posts in this discussion I realize we can do much better. Can anyone stear us to a good dealer in the York,Lancaster, Harrisburg PA area. We are willing to travel. Thanks everyone.

I have been searching for an EX-L with NAVI and RES.

The lowest price I have been offered was $1000 below invoice here at Elk Grove Honda.

So is this is good price?

Can you please be a little more specific wrt the name of the "Asian" lady? I'm shopping for an EX-L RES/Nav in the PHX metro area. I'd be willing to travel but I can't picture me calling Norm Reeves and asking "Do you have an Asian woman who works in internet sales?"!!!!
    Thanks!

I'm in the market for an 07 EX-L. From what I've read, it looks like people are buying this model for about $1000 under invoice (about $27,600). I don't see where there are any manufacturer to dealer incentives, so how can the dealers be doing this? Also, does anyone know if there are going to be any better deals in April?
  • tcltcl Member Posts: 42
I got my EX-L for $27,380 back in Dec. 06 when the 07 still new. You should be able to get a lot better deal now since Toyota have a bigger engine for their 07. The .9% financing is a lot better than the 3.9% I have.
