Yes, I was asked specifically about the 07. He said it was offered during March and extended through April. I checked the websites of a few other area dealers and found the same offer and apparently it's a regional offer not good in all states. Not sure if I can post links here but you can check the website of Milton Martin Honda for details.

Shop around. Over the past couple of years, reported Atlanta area prices have been relatively high. In the current market, you should be able to buy an EX for no more than 26.5 and possibly for much less.

Try to sell that Highlander privately - those things have great resale though prices vary widely depending upon equipment.

Just called Brewster (NY) Honda; .9% is for the 2006 models they are sold out of.... OTOH, their prices are great. LX $23,839. :confuse: I'll wait and see.
  • mabazamabaza Member Posts: 21
If you can wait until April 1st, do it. Honda decides to renew their incentives on a monthly basis, so they may very well introduce competitive APR's in your state at the beginning of next month. I live in Wisconsin, where Honda is not offering any APR specials this month. I figure I have nothing to lose by waiting a few weekss :shades:

I have begun negotiating for a Honda Odyssey EX-L with RES in my area. Below is the quote I received. What's a reasonable price in my area. This is from a dealer located about half way between Memphis and Nashville.

    $33,935.00 sticker price w/options
    $31,827.00 special internet price
    $299.00 processing fee
    $2,440.00 sales tax
    $70.00 new tags
    $34,636.71 balance due

That sounds too high from what I've been reading on here...???? I'd appreciate any information.
  • jakefljakefl Member Posts: 21
Got EXL last night $30189 OTD ( FL tax 6% included and new tag) with Free 6 day cruise for 2, sort of happy with the deal, only issue I have is the APR, no special of any kind in FL, with highest FICO score we got 6.75 ( finance manager started with 7.99) He swore there is no special APR on Odyssey in FL any time soon...After seeing GA dealers offer 1.9 I feel like I have a valid reason to feel disappointed in APR. :confuse:
  • clutch5clutch5 Member Posts: 4
I got an LX quote of $23,400 OTD with .9 financing so you might want to shop around that $23,839. I ended up buying the 07 LX though b/c I got it for only a grand more OTD (but no special financing).
  • cornucopiacornucopia Member Posts: 23
23400 OTD, what is the breakdown? Tax rate? Thanks
  • wjspmwjspm Member Posts: 2
Hi, does anyone know what the APR is for NC in April? Read through previous posts stating it's 1.9 in GA and 6.75 in FL.

Any other incentives for NC in Apr?

    Thanks, wjspm
  • wjspmwjspm Member Posts: 2
Which dealership, please? And was this purchased made in Mar or Apr?

    Thanks, wjspm
  • clutch5clutch5 Member Posts: 4
Tax rate is 6% plus $50 county fee. That OTD quote is on a 06 LX.

I got a number of 28253 for a 2007 EX-L I was told and reassured that the only extras would be local taxes (8.625) and DMV fees (60.00)...

    So what do you think???

    PS 6.9% Finance option...

In N.J. I went to David Michael on rt9 in Freehold. Dealt with salesman name James K, based on a recommendation from someone from this forum (thank you again). I did my research beforehand and got the best deal in NJ on an EX lease. I was extremely surprise on the no hassle treatment that I received from that salesperson and the office. I highly recommend them to any one!!
  • mabazamabaza Member Posts: 21
What were the terms of the lease (money down/money factor) and what is your monthly payment? Thanks and congrats on the new van! :)
  • maxqmaxq Member Posts: 6
    Hey there georgiagirl,
Reasonable price is what you believe is fair. Buying an EX is really your advantage. As you mentioned, most go for EX-L and that provides dealer more profit based on supply/demand. They may have difficulty moving the EX inventory quickly You can "help" them move a unit at your low price.
Shop around the five or six dealers near home via internet and get price quotes.
Pick the one that is most convenient for you,(think about the future)will treat you like a customer and will listen to your needs. Ideally, they will have excess EX inventory.
If their price is not the lowest or what you feel is fair, see if they will meet your needs. Let them know you want to buy from them.
Your strategy should be to wait the last day of the month if you can possibly hold out. Go in with the internet price info and verify ahead that they have the color you want on hand. This is important.

Start at $25,350 and don't go any higher than $25,950. Trust me, if you find the right dealer, they will sell you what you want at your price. This sounds like a lotta of work, but it could save you $500-600.
    Couple more things-
Don't let them cut you down on the trade in. I did not trade, but they wanted me to put higher downpayment.
Lastly- don't forget to ask for some simple throwins like the cargo net and or cargo totes and splash guards. Its not a big deal for them.

Good luck and congratulations on your pending deliveries

Just purchased a new 2006 Odyssey Touring (RES but no NAV). Here are the numbers:

    Selling Price $31,500.00
    Sales Tax (5%) $1,575.00
    Doc Fee $298.00
    Plates/Title $86.00
    TOTAL $33,459.00

This is a 2006 which means we were able to get 3.9% for 60months.

    This forum has awesome information!
    Over and out.
  • jakefljakefl Member Posts: 21
It is really good, the lowest I got was $28,353.50 - no other dealer wanted to touch it so I went ahead with it. $28,353.50 Silver out and dark gray inside.
The only add to your price should be a sales tax and tags. I feel you can still squeeze mud guards :-) If you have kids, do not go for any ivory or olive interior, trust me,the dark gray is the only way to go that comes with exterior Silver, gray or blue. My light ivory leather in Acura was trashed by kids within 1 week, learn on my mistake :D

I am about to buy an EX-L in San Diego. Can anyone recommend dealerships/sales managers/salespeople in San Diego or SoCal? Thanks greatly.
  • zoozeekzoozeek Member Posts: 32
I forgot one question: when sending out e-mails or faxes to dealerships, should I try to deal with "Internet Sales Manager" or just "Sales Manager"? (I thought it might make a difference in terms of commission involved.) Thanks greatly for the advice!
  • sanvansanvan Member Posts: 21
Hi, zoozeek: I am hungting the EX-L in san diego also. Can you please share your experience with me? My email is belleriver@gmail.com
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I think I'm going to jump on it this weekend. I was able to get 5.43% from a credit union. I wish I could do better with the financing ( capital 1 gave me 6% ) . Buying it for the wife must be "white" I guess its a girl thing, and I stuck with Ivory interior also.... ;)

Did you talk with Marty @ roseville? I was working with him and he seemed to be a nice guy.

Did you cash it or get the special APR FINANCING?

If financing, what % did you get?

    Good job on the deal!!
  • georgiagirlgeorgiagirl Member Posts: 17
Thanks so much for the response. I have never traded a car before, so I am a bit nervous about this part. I just don't want the hassle of selling privately, since we will have a newborn in a couple of weeks. Thanks again for the good advice!
  • aspecaspec Member Posts: 9
36x 393$ for 45K. I Put 800$ (including first payment) and walked away with the car. I have been researching for a long time and it is the best deal I came across...

    Vehicle was just purchased today.

    Selling Price: $27,189.52
    Electronic Title Transmission Fee: $20.00
    Dealer Processing Fee: $100.00
Tire Recyclling Fee: (not certain why) $4.00
    License Fee: $180.00
    Title Fee: $23.00
    Lien Filing Fee: $20.00
    Tax:(on sell price & proc. fee) $1364.48 (5%in MD)
    Total: $28,901.00

I also got 60 month financing at 3.9%

I feel pretty confident that I got an extremely good deal. This is evidenced by the fact that several other dealerships refused to touch the price. The next best on the road offer was $30,032.12

Just purchased this van (Nimbus Gray) today from Planet Honda in Union, NJ. Very easy & fast process. No hard negotiation. I really recommend this dealer.

Selling Price: $30,622.00 (including Destination charge)
Auto Starter: $370 (with same original Honda key)
Sales Tax: $2169.44 (NJ is 7%)
    Credit check: $52.00
    NJ Tire Fees: $7.50
    Reg./Title: $354.00
    Dealer Docs fees: $289.00

    Total OTD price: $33,863.94

Any Comment on above deal? is it good, Ok or Best?? This forum is really a great help.
  • minivanseeker7minivanseeker7 Member Posts: 9
Looks like good deal. Did you enquire the price for financing this vehicle. I am looking for EX and live close to David Michael's. What was the OTD price. Thanks and best wishes with the van. :)
  • mb6986mb6986 Member Posts: 30
    Hiworld,

Congrats on your purchase. I think you got a very very good deal. Two months ago I bought the same vehicle with fog lights with 0.9% financing for a hair under $34K OTD. I purchased mine in Eatontown.

I shopped at DavidMichael in Freehold and found them dishonest. They kept telling me that they were in the market to make money therefore wouldn't go below invoice. And all the other dealers quoting prices below invoice were playing games. I purchased from KayHonda for the above mentioned vehicle and there was no hidden charges.
  • pgroganpgrogan Member Posts: 7
I normally do not buy extended warranties, but I am considering one for the Odyssey I purchased yesterday. Does anyone have any thoughts or recommendations on where to purchase? Also what warranty did you get and how much did you pay?
  • jacketfanjacketfan Member Posts: 3
Good evening--thanks to all previous posters who took time to talk about their buying experience. It is a tremendous help.

After reading the last 6 months of posts, I submitted some quote requests over the internet and went to some Honda dealerships around the Cincinnati area in search of an EXL RES. Best quote so far is $29819 including dest charge + tax/title/etc. Decent deal but from the posts here it sounds like I can do better. Trade-in value wasn't good enough so we'll wait until I sell it on the open market ($3K more or so) before I purchase.

My question: nobody was offering 3.9% financing in the area. Other states are offering it but not Ohio. Anyone in Ohio hearing the same? Does anyone expect these rates to come back for Ohio or is it a wait and see deal? Don't want to wait for something that will never come.

Thanks in advance for any replies.
  • andresxandresx Member Posts: 2
    That sounds pretty good.

Edmunds list the invoice at $31,592 (w/o dest charge). What was the dealers initial qoute?

Also, general question is a dealer only willing to go below invoice on the higher end models? or can you expect the same on a EX?.

    Thx.
  • srigarlasrigarla Member Posts: 1
Could you give me the sales person's name & Number.
I am shopping around for the same van. Can i get the same deal?

    Thanks
  • 4bearhug4bearhug Member Posts: 52
That looks like a great price. I got a similar price in Jan, but it was about $300 higher. I did end up w/ 0.9% financing so I was happy overall with the deal. It looks most people lately have been paying a bit more for the EX-L so I would say that you should be very pleased with the deal.

I know some people just don't want to travel very far for a lower price, but I would widen my search before paying invoice like so many are quoting here.
  • the4lamsthe4lams Member Posts: 5
Hey pgrogan, I live in MD as well and I am at the beginning of my search for an EX. I was wondering what dealer (even the salesman name would be good too) you got that deal at and were they good to deal with?

    Thanks!
  • jaxfirejaxfire Member Posts: 1
This forum helped me greatly in finding the best priced Odyssey. I've been searching for a few months and finally purchased this weekend. No one in my area of Hampton Roads, VA would negotiate with price. So I went to Fairfax, VA and made the deal with Fairfax Honda. I received the out the door price from the internet salesman before going up there. It was a friendly, easy, painless process. I strongly recommend Fairfax Honda. They also gave me a very fair deal for my trade-in (a 2005 Honda CR-V).
Out the door price for EX-L without RES or NAV was $29,443
The EX-L was $500.00 below invoice and I received 0.9% financing for 36 months.
Overall I think I got a pretty good deal, especially because none of the Honda dealerships in my immediate area of Virginia Beach would negotiate their price at all. The next lowest price quote I received in this area was 30,500 for the same exact vehicle. I saved over a $1,000 by driving a few hours north.
  • hiworldhiworld Member Posts: 4
the original dealers quote was 30,992 plus destination charges. So, i got that waved and also manage to get auto starter after negotation.

I was shopping around for both EX and this upper version. Quote for EX was $25489 plus destination and etc. and they are not willing to go below that. Plus dealers has very few EX in stock compare to EXL.

So, yes it is better chance for negotiation on Higher end model.

I thinks we cannot post sales person name and number here. but if you can send me private email at carspace email thn i can pass that information to u.

Just wanted to share that I got a EX-L with RES for a price of $29,895 at Curry Honda in Yorktown Heights, NY. The price includes destination, documentation, and because of NH residency no sales tax. Any comments on the price? I am hoping that is in the relm of good- but would appreciate comments.

I have not picked up the van already and I wanted to know if anyone has any tips for what to look for with picking up the van.

    Thanks

My husband and I are expecting baby #4 and have recently decided we HAVE to upgrade to a van esp since all 4 kids will be in carseats (the kids are 5,3,18 mos newborn come June) so we contact a few dealers from as far as Oklahoma City, Ok, all the way down to Austin, Tx (we're in Ok) Originally we decided upon the LX, then a dealer in Ok made a typo and quoted us $25,900 for an EX, I jumped on it and found 2 dealers in Tx that beat that price, so I'm no longer dealing with the dealer in Ok (didn't want to jinx myself and them catch their error) so now we're really pushing our numbers and we'd like to get the 2007 EX for $25k tax, tag, title everything in that $25k-meaning we need the dealer(s) to go as low as $23,300 (6.25% tax in Tx) So, is this totally unrealistic to even try to get the dealers down to this for a 2007 EX?
  • pgroganpgrogan Member Posts: 7
The salesman I dealt with was very straightforward and very easy to work with. I was in and out of the dealership in under 2 hours, and this included 2 test drives. (Wife and I took the car for a spin separately because we had the baby with us)

I tried sending you a PM/email, but it appears that the function is not working at this time.

It is against forum policy to post salesmans name, but I will get the info to you.

    Hi Steph,

I'm looking to buy an EX soon too so I will be interested in your results.

    Is $25,900 including destination Charge?

    The invoice on the EX is $25,990 + $595 dest = $26,585

Dealers have about $800 in holdback profit so the lowest a dealer is likely to ever go is $25,100 + $595 dest = $25,695.

About $26,000 including dest is about the lowest I have seen.
  • stephyiistephyii Member Posts: 4
I spoke to both dealers in Tx who are countering and both assure that the destination fee $595 is included in their price. So, with my lowest bid being $25,300 for an EX with tax, tag and title fees I'm looking at walking out the door with a 2007 Honda Odyssey EX for $27,100.00.

Just trying to see if its a good deal or not, esp since its way UNDER MSRP and invoice.

    Hi,

Is there anyone on the list that are dealing with honda dealership in the Raleigh/durham or triad (greensboro, highpoint) Norht Carolina area?

I am getting 29,500+ out of the door price for 2007 EXL, and i thought of that as a pretty good price as others are not touching this price, but after reading this post by you I am not feeling that good, But driving to MD is not an option :-)

Can anybody on this list share their lowest price experience for 2007 EXL in central NC ?
    thanks.
  • rickindallasrickindallas Member Posts: 13
    Hi Steph,

I would say $25,300 including dest is the best price I've seen on this board or the odyclub . com board.

Glad to know they are going that low :D ...I hope it keeps up as I am still a month or two away from buying.

I'd say you have a geat deal! :)

Who is the lowest dealer? (if you don't mind could you email me the name and # of your sales guy... rickpamela_2000 "at" yahoo "dot" com, thanks)

And keep us posted if you buy.

Guys, after my preliminary research I think Sienna is 2-3K expensive than Odyssey (comparing similar models with simila add ons). Do you all agree or I am wrong somewhere? I am still trying to decide which way to go and any help would be greatly appreciated.
  • ilovehondailovehonda Member Posts: 14
    Hi stephyii,

$25,300 in TX is an awesome price. We are looking into buying an EX too. Can you please email me (geethanjalli@yahoo.com) the name of the sales person and the dealership?

    Thanks in advance.
  • maxqmaxq Member Posts: 6
I believe you are right on and this is a good point. When I was comparing the EX to similarly equipped Sienna, perhaps there was not quite as much $ differential, but at the time Honda had 3.9% vs 5.9% for Sienna and that was worth the difference to me.
I believe Toyota may have lowered their finance rates, but I am happy with my recent purchase.
