Thanks, wjspm
Thanks, wjspm
I have been given a price of $398.00 a month for a 3 year lease, with $2200.00 down (incl my Trade-In. THis was for an 07 Odyssey EX-l w/ DVD no Navi.
Trade-In info is 2003 VW Jetta GLS 1.8T, Standard Trans, Leather Int, Monsoon sound, 17" wheels. approx 34,000 miles.
My location is Connecticut - Courtney Honda
I would greatly appreciate any input. Thanks!
So what do you think???
PS 6.9% Finance option...
Reasonable price is what you believe is fair. Buying an EX is really your advantage. As you mentioned, most go for EX-L and that provides dealer more profit based on supply/demand. They may have difficulty moving the EX inventory quickly You can "help" them move a unit at your low price.
Shop around the five or six dealers near home via internet and get price quotes.
Pick the one that is most convenient for you,(think about the future)will treat you like a customer and will listen to your needs. Ideally, they will have excess EX inventory.
If their price is not the lowest or what you feel is fair, see if they will meet your needs. Let them know you want to buy from them.
Your strategy should be to wait the last day of the month if you can possibly hold out. Go in with the internet price info and verify ahead that they have the color you want on hand. This is important.
Start at $25,350 and don't go any higher than $25,950. Trust me, if you find the right dealer, they will sell you what you want at your price. This sounds like a lotta of work, but it could save you $500-600.
Couple more things-
Don't let them cut you down on the trade in. I did not trade, but they wanted me to put higher downpayment.
Lastly- don't forget to ask for some simple throwins like the cargo net and or cargo totes and splash guards. Its not a big deal for them.
Good luck and congratulations on your pending deliveries
Selling Price $31,500.00
Sales Tax (5%) $1,575.00
Doc Fee $298.00
Plates/Title $86.00
TOTAL $33,459.00
This is a 2006 which means we were able to get 3.9% for 60months.
This forum has awesome information!
Over and out.
The only add to your price should be a sales tax and tags. I feel you can still squeeze mud guards :-) If you have kids, do not go for any ivory or olive interior, trust me,the dark gray is the only way to go that comes with exterior Silver, gray or blue. My light ivory leather in Acura was trashed by kids within 1 week, learn on my mistake
Thanks in advance.
Did you cash it or get the special APR FINANCING?
If financing, what % did you get?
Good job on the deal!!

I feel pretty confident that I got an extremely good deal. This is evidenced by the fact that several other dealerships refused to touch the price. The next best on the road offer was $30,032.12
Selling Price: $30,622.00 (including Destination charge)
Auto Starter: $370 (with same original Honda key)
Sales Tax: $2169.44 (NJ is 7%)
Credit check: $52.00
NJ Tire Fees: $7.50

Dealer Docs fees: $289.00
Total OTD price: $33,863.94
Any Comment on above deal? is it good, Ok or Best?? This forum is really a great help.
Congrats on your purchase. I think you got a very very good deal. Two months ago I bought the same vehicle with fog lights with 0.9% financing for a hair under $34K OTD. I purchased mine in Eatontown.
I shopped at DavidMichael in Freehold and found them dishonest. They kept telling me that they were in the market to make money therefore wouldn't go below invoice. And all the other dealers quoting prices below invoice were playing games. I purchased from KayHonda for the above mentioned vehicle and there was no hidden charges.
After reading the last 6 months of posts, I submitted some quote requests over the internet and went to some Honda dealerships around the Cincinnati area in search of an EXL RES. Best quote so far is $29819 including dest charge + tax/title/etc. Decent deal but from the posts here it sounds like I can do better. Trade-in value wasn't good enough so we'll wait until I sell it on the open market ($3K more or so) before I purchase.
My question: nobody was offering 3.9% financing in the area. Other states are offering it but not Ohio. Anyone in Ohio hearing the same? Does anyone expect these rates to come back for Ohio or is it a wait and see deal? Don't want to wait for something that will never come.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
Edmunds list the invoice at $31,592 (w/o dest charge). What was the dealers initial qoute?
Also, general question is a dealer only willing to go below invoice on the higher end models? or can you expect the same on a EX?.
Thx.
I am shopping around for the same van. Can i get the same deal?
Thanks
I know some people just don't want to travel very far for a lower price, but I would widen my search before paying invoice like so many are quoting here.
Thanks!
Out the door price for EX-L without RES or NAV was $29,443
The EX-L was $500.00 below invoice and I received 0.9% financing for 36 months.
Overall I think I got a pretty good deal, especially because none of the Honda dealerships in my immediate area of Virginia Beach would negotiate their price at all. The next lowest price quote I received in this area was 30,500 for the same exact vehicle. I saved over a $1,000 by driving a few hours north.
I was shopping around for both EX and this upper version. Quote for EX was $25489 plus destination and etc. and they are not willing to go below that. Plus dealers has very few EX in stock compare to EXL.
So, yes it is better chance for negotiation on Higher end model.
thanks
I have not picked up the van already and I wanted to know if anyone has any tips for what to look for with picking up the van.
Thanks
I tried sending you a PM/email, but it appears that the function is not working at this time.
It is against forum policy to post salesmans name, but I will get the info to you.
I'm looking to buy an EX soon too so I will be interested in your results.
Is $25,900 including destination Charge?
The invoice on the EX is $25,990 + $595 dest = $26,585
Dealers have about $800 in holdback profit so the lowest a dealer is likely to ever go is $25,100 + $595 dest = $25,695.
About $26,000 including dest is about the lowest I have seen.
Just trying to see if its a good deal or not, esp since its way UNDER MSRP and invoice.
Is there anyone on the list that are dealing with honda dealership in the Raleigh/durham or triad (greensboro, highpoint) Norht Carolina area?
I am getting 29,500+ out of the door price for 2007 EXL, and i thought of that as a pretty good price as others are not touching this price, but after reading this post by you I am not feeling that good, But driving to MD is not an option :-)
Can anybody on this list share their lowest price experience for 2007 EXL in central NC ?
thanks.
I would say $25,300 including dest is the best price I've seen on this board or the odyclub . com board.
Glad to know they are going that low
I'd say you have a geat deal!
Who is the lowest dealer? (if you don't mind could you email me the name and # of your sales guy... rickpamela_2000 "at" yahoo "dot" com, thanks)
And keep us posted if you buy.
$25,300 in TX is an awesome price. We are looking into buying an EX too. Can you please email me (geethanjalli@yahoo.com) the name of the sales person and the dealership?
Thanks in advance.
I believe Toyota may have lowered their finance rates, but I am happy with my recent purchase.
