Price quoted $30,199.00 + Accessories($280.00 for wheel locks and mud flaps). They said it was $700.00 over invoice thru Costco pricing. Didn't haggle, got out due to tired kids. Good excuse to get out and not buy on the first visit. How good is this?

You can do significantly better on that model in the Seattle market without much work.

My best written quote came from Honda of Seattle that was just under $30k including the accessories. I ended up buying from Honda of Bellevue earlier this month because they gave good service throughout the buying process, are convenient to my office and beat Honda of Seattle's quote.

Does anyone know the Manufacturer :confuse: Honda invoice price for the 2007 Odyssey EX. I live in Tucson AZ and only have two local dealerships and need some deeper knowledge when going to buy. I have been quoted 25,845 from one dealer from PHX (is a good place to start?)

    Any help is great.

I am newbie to this mini-van experience and just wanted to put this out there. Apologies if this is answered earlier in the thread...

We are looking for a 2007 EX-L or a well maintained 2005/6 EX-L. However seeing the rate of depreciation on these (based on some online listings), we feel a 2007 is not much more than a 05/06.

    Anyway 2 questions --
    1) Is it worth waiting until September/October time frame to get a "GREAT deal" on the 07 model (assuming that is when the 08's come out?

    2) We live in St Louis MO and make periodic trips to Chicago area. Don't mind going up to Chicago for buying a new car. But what is a realistic price in chicago land for a EX-L?

thanks in advance in helping out a newbie :)

Just go back about 6-7 months and read all of the posts in this thread and you will get a wealth of information regarding pricing. With the $750 being offered to dealers to move inventory, you should be able to get a Chicago price on EX-L of $26,800-$27,200 which includes destination charge. I would shoot for that range in your area before deciding to go to Chicago. If you're making a Chicago trip anyway then might as well time it for a Ody buy.

Whether it's worth waiting until Sep-Oct is something that you'll have to decide. The incentives might get sweetened or the 0.9% finance rate might come back. The available choices/colors will dwindle the longer you wait as dealers start ordering 08 models.

What dealership was this in Houston.

I am working a deal and it is no way as good as yours. Looksl ike you got the base car less than 6% below dealer invoice. I thought I had it good at 4% below dealer invoice.
  • bugsnestbugsnest Member Posts: 11
Thanks bearhug! The prices that you mentioned would appear ridiculous to me until 2 days ago... but after reading thru these posts I'm a believer ;)

Since my time frame is flexible, I'm going to really shop around. The finance deal is surely attractive to consider an early purchase...

Hello, I don't know how to reach Car_man or kyfdx personally and I really need help with my situation. I was offered for a 2007 Honda Odyssey EX a 36 month lease, 12k per year 370/month and this figure includes ALL taxes and fees. All I have to put down is 600 to pay for first and fees. Is this a good deal? They told me that they are selling me the car at the price of 26,298 (27,800 with taxes and all fees). Yet, whenver I look at the prices on buying the Odyssey they seem much lower. Can I lease an Odyssey at the same low prices that people buy the Odyssey?? The dealerships make me sound like I am crazy and this is already such a low price but somehow I feel that this is not the greatest deal. I sign papers this weekend so please help out!! The money factor in this case is 0.0014 and the residual is 16,695. Do you think I Can I get a better deal?? How much better?? Is there a better time to buy? Please, if anyone can also pass this onto car_man or kyfdx this would be SOOOO appreciated. Please ANYONEEEE reply here or to my email at nadarashdan@yahoo.com Thanks!!

I am reading through more and more posts so I'm getting more ideas but I am really an innocent in all this. When a price for example, an EX is quoted, is that generally before taxes and title or out the door?

    Thank you

They both monitor the discussion, but hosts don't answer individual purchasing questions by e-mail - otherwise, we'd do nothing else.

Your best bet is to look at the deals that other members are reporting and compare yours to theirs. I see you posted in the Odyssey Lease Questions discussion, so you might want to look at other posts there - if car_man has info that might help you, I'm sure he'll post it, but be aware that we can't know every best deal on every vehicle at all times! Thanks for your patience.

nadarashdan - i work for a company that leases cars and somehow felt the price advantage of leasing an EX-L was only marginal over a purchase. I too am new to this so my inputs are based on some limited research.

However the price of 27,xxx appears what an EX-L would cost if you were to PURCHASE and avail of the 4.9% APR that is being offered currently. I say this in full confidence since I got 2 quotes yesterday that were only couple hundred dollars apart. These were from reputed dealers in Illinois and Missouri.

    Hope this helps... Good luck!
  • nadarashdannadarashdan Member Posts: 13
You saw EXLs for 27,000 including everything and all costs or an EX? I was offered an EX to lease for 27,298 (including everything). Don't know if that is a good deal.

    Nada
  • honda4me1honda4me1 Member Posts: 7
Hey Bugsnest. I'm in STL too and looking for a similar vehicle. I was seriously considering it when the 0.9 APR was going on, but decided to wait - best price quoted was 28,600(EX-L) or 30,000(EX-L RES). With the 750 dealer incentive, price should be better now. Just beginning my second round of searching, but seems like there are plenty of Ody's on the lot. Good luck.

So what did you pay exactly and did you buy the honda care warranty? Did you opt for anything else, and how munch $ ?
  • donkeypunch1donkeypunch1 Member Posts: 119
In chicago area you can get an exl including destination, add tax, title license for about 26,850 with little effort.

Here is my deal for your reference. 2007 Odyssey EX-L with Navigation and DVD, in lieu of Honda financing, $30,289 (including destination charge) plus tax and documentation fee. The price includes mud guard, paint stripes, and seat treatment. Did not choose any accessories because they are way over-priced. Hope this helps.
  • drewbadrewba Member Posts: 154
$29,800 was the number put on the price sheet, but we had a trade and were negotiating based on the difference, not the price of the trade-in or new car individually. Based on our estimated trade-in value on the forum here, we feel like we got a fair deal.

Splash guards, wheel and door edge moldings and wheel locks were included. We didn't purchase a warranty or any other accessories.

Anybody bought a 2007 Odyssey EX-L without DVD/NAV? Wonder if the price has started to drop. Anyone heard of memorial-weekend specials?
  • philapaphilapa Member Posts: 25
I bought my extra option and color in May of 2005 for 30,980 (before tax, etc. and nono of the options :shades: ). Plus I also live in the Philadelphia suburban. How can they sell the same car for more money now this is the third model year? There is no longer supply issue.

I am also looking for the same information, and would really appreciate any one providing some hints what kind of speciails going on Memorial weekend.

    Hi Guys,

Here is my buying experience, with the dealer Gwinnett Honda, Georgia. After two visits, haggle for the price, i have to settle for a Honda Odyssey EX-L with RES for 31,050 :D
    grin(OTD)which included county tax 7%.

At the end, i felt if i had bargained better i could have saved $500 dollars more. I do not know what i got is good deal. But definitely, i have seen with out DVD we can the same vehicle for $1500 dollars less. As i have two small kids i have opted for the DVD and settled there.

BTW, i have added extended warrenty for 72 months(or 100,000 mileage)for additional $1200 bugs. Is that OK? I have taken finance with 2.9%apr with zero down payment.

Hope this helps for other future buyers
  • laney0069laney0069 Member Posts: 12
The Odyssey EX-L without DVD RES thru the Costco program is invoice of $28,753 + $700($700 over invoice thru Costco) + accessories + tax and licensing. Most accessories were mud flaps and wheel locks = $280.00. This was a first quote thru Renton Honda earlier this week. So I know we can do better. But due to monies were holding off for a while.
  • cactmicactmi Member Posts: 2
odysseyfan1, i'm also in the Triangle, looking to buy a EX-L+RES. Can you please let me know what dealers have you been able to get down to 27500 for an EX-L? How did you get these quotes, as a walk-in, email or phone? Other advice is truly appreciated. BTW, if you are not financing, buying before the mem day weekend may get you a better deal than waiting for good rates. Pls email me at danrod_1999@yahoo.com. Thanks
  • odysseyfan1odysseyfan1 Member Posts: 33
I am talking about internet pricing, eventhough initially it was kind of hard to get this 27,500 for EX-L. I got these from Sanford Honda, and crown honda, but these were almost 2~3 weeks back, so not sure whether they will still give these offers.
  • fedude1fedude1 Member Posts: 4
I'm looking to buy this week. I just submitted a request for a quote thru cars.com to 3 of my local dealers. It will be interesting to see if any of the 3 are supportive of this type of on-line dealing. I really hate the haggling aspect, but you have to be prepared.

I want to thank this board for helping me tremendously for my negotiation and purchase of my new Nimbus Gray EX-L DVD/NAV (took delivery today!). First, I went through the Costco Program in San Diego (Escondido dealership) - their price was $200 over invoice, but added a bunch of options and fees, etc. Then I got several email quotes - many of which were between $34,600 to $36,000 OTD. After some back and forth, I selected a dealer (Pacific Honda), made and appointment, then made my final offer, which was accepted. Here's my info, and I hope it helps:

    MSRP: $35,490
    Invoice: $32,503

    My Price: $31,221.33
    Docs: $55
    Sales Tax: $2423.92
    DMV Fees: $291
    CA Tire Fee: $8.75

    OTD Price: $34,000

Includes Protection Package: mud flaps, edgeguards, wheel locks, trunk tray. I got 4.9 financing for 60 months. I came to them with my OTD Price - I would not budge on this, even when they went through their song-and-dance tactics. They were nice, but I think they realized I wasn't there to negotiate - only to get my price.

I'm satisfied with the price, though I wonder if I could've gone even lower. But in the end, I got the price I wanted. I hope this helps everyone.

goodson honda on 45 north of the beltway. I dealt with Linda, extremely nice and not pushy at all. let us take the van home overnight just for the heck of it

Purchased a Touring with DVD and Nav from Ohare Honda on April 30th, last day for the 3.9% for 60 months. Paid $38,346 OTD which included wheel locks, mud guards, all season mats, cargo mat, cargo tray and fenderwell trim. Tried to charge me $400 for mud guards and $199 for wheel locks! I laughed at them. This was after they told me I would get 10% off accessories! I should have gotten a better deal but by 11:30pm I was worn out and settled. Shame on me!

    doc fee $58.48
    Tax $2370.65
    LTT $80.00
    Price (including above accessories) $35,837.00

I'm not so sure about these guys so be careful. I still have some business with them so I will keep you posted.

I had the worst experience leasing my 2007 Honda Odissey at Coral Springs Auto Mall, FL.They were terrible and I ended up with a lemon. Now I'm stucked with this van for the next 3 years. I read it here that it was a great car. Maybe you guys were luckier, but mine is deffective and neither American Honda or the dealer want to get it resolved unless I hire a lawyer...

Too strange! I've been a frequent visitor to this forum for a few weeks now as I'm looking to buy a minivan this summer. Then I saw your message...

I grew up in Coral Springs and lived in Coconut Creek until 2005 when my wife and I moved to Colorado. I am VERY familiar with the CS Auto Mall. I had two HORRIBLE experiences there - one at Honda and one at Nissan - where they played the hide-your-keys, lowball your trade, make you feel stupid games.

BOTH TIMES they wanted me to write them a $500 "good faith" check before they would negotiate a deal - you know, "to show I was serious." I thought the first time was a fluke so imagine my surprise when I went back years later and they played the same game.

BOTH TIMES I walked right out the door and never heard from them again. Sorry about your experience, but I don't trust those guys at all...

I got a quotation of base LX model for $23050 in Portland, Oregon area. MSRP was $26240. This price doesn't include Doc fee or DMV cost. What do you guys think?

I bought a 2007 EX-L last night at Keenan Honda in Doylestown , Pa. rondavenport@keenanhonda.com

I did it via their internet dept (Mr. Davenport) . No hassel price was 27,700 inc destinatin charge. Keenan had a a number of colors to choose from in the lot inventory , which were the internet cars. Of the four local dealers I worked with, Keenan was most competitve and by far the most professional.

Internet Sales straight forward, fast, efficient.

We are looking for an EX in Georgia. The lowest over the phone quote has been $27450 out the door price. We have a 7% sales tax so that seems pretty good. Has anyone heard of better or know of an sales for this Memorial day weekend? Also, does anyone know if any Georgia dealers give the $500 off for active military like Ford and Toyota do (even if you don't finance through them)?
  • roinctroinct Member Posts: 7
I'm going through the same process with a Touring now and will post my results when all is done. Definitely go to the Open Road Honda (Edison, NJ) website and get an InstaQuote. If nothing else, you can use that for leverage in your negotiations with many of the other dealers who will match any bona fide offer.
  • pekopeko Member Posts: 15
I checked out Open Road Honda and I received the best price so far. Thanks for introducing me to it.

I have been shopping for the above model for a while in southern Cali. So far I got the quote of $31000 with wheel lock, Mud guard and cargo net with 4.9% apr. I am wondering if someone have any idea in price drop on '07 models when new models for '08 comes in. What time frame '08 models comes in? Can I expect better than the above deal on '07 when '08 model is in market?
    Please advice.

    ValpoMan-

we are in the same boat, looking to buy soon but not sure what market will be best. we are in Indy and willing to go to Chicago, Ft. Wayne, Mich, Louisville, Cincy, etc. really within 3 hrs. drive.

    please keep us posted....

I started with online quotes and will call costco tomorrow, though after reading here, doesn't sound like our best bet. I sent out requsts to louisville, chicago and indy.
  • sassyaztecsassyaztec Member Posts: 6
Anyone still looking to buy this weekend in CHI? We are in Indy, but willing to make the drive if CHI deals are much better. Looking to buy EX-L with RES, cash. color not a big deal, but would like blue or green.

I sent out quote requests last night, hopefully will hear back later today.
  • donkeypunch1donkeypunch1 Member Posts: 119
Sassy, In Chicago area, I think you should be able to get EXL for around 26700 which inlcudes destination or EXLRES for around 28300 including destination. I haven' bought yet, might this weekend, except bummed honda hasn't given better rates for the memorial day weekend. (im financing)

So what it boils down to is that the stupid 9 inch dvd system is 1400 more. (which I want) email me at donkeypunch827@hotmail.com if you have Q's.

Hey donkey-- (that sounds funny ;)

I got a quote from Carr Honda, said just shy of 27,000. I asked for more specifics, but he did say includ. dest. I will update here as I get more info. I also asked for quotes from a few others in Chi area.

No big specials here either. I am hoping that everyone will be all about the race and the dealerships will be dead. Are dealers open on Sunday there? That would help us in being able to drive up after seeing what's going on here.
  • donkeypunch1donkeypunch1 Member Posts: 119
Sassy, If I'm donkey does that make you Shrek? LOL JK

Yeah shy of 2700 is for EXL, no res. Ask him what his RES price is. Dealers are closed on Sunday in IL.

Just purchased an EXL with RES in PA for $29,100. I got them to throw in the luggage rack cross bars and cargo tray. I think this is a pretty fair deal from what I've seen on this board.

    $29100 Sale Price
    $1881 Tax and Tags
    $30,981 OTD price
  • fedude1fedude1 Member Posts: 4
Just purchased an EX-L (no RES/DVD/NAV) in Rochester NY from Holtz Honda for $29,000 OTD including tax and tags. This includes about $800 for my trade-in which as usual was a real hassle. My trade was a '97 dodge with serious problems.

They had a lot of Odysseys on the lot and they appeared to be in a dealing mood and I when I picked mine up yesterday, two others were also being delivered.

I went into the dealer with online quotes of $27,995-28,850 plus tax and tags that I got strictly through email. (cars.com) To my suprise the salesman started the discussion with $29,990 so I started negotiating at less than all my on-line quotes. If I was going for a clean deal it would have been a much esaier discussion ,but the trade-in complicated things.

Difficult to really get my hands around it but I think I paid $28,200 OTD which in my NY is 8% sales tax so the car cost was around $26,100. They tried to ding me for a lot of inceidentals like a car wash (errr, dealer prep), so be careful.

This forum was a real help. Did I get a good deal? Who really knows. When you leave the dealer you always feel like you got taken and have a real slug in your gut, but I can say that I paid $100 over my pre-dealing absolute best deal that I had written down on paper going in, so I feel pretty good.

I haven't gone through the car buying process in more than 5 years so I'm curious...is it considered typical these days(with high volume and low sales trends recently) to pay just above OR below invoice on the Odyssey?

We're headed to the dealership in the morning to hopefully make a deal and all of my research (TMV, etc) and online dealer quotes are coming back $300-$800 over invoice for EX-L (w/o TTL and no Nav/RES). Cheapest internet dealer quote has been $28340 and I thought that was decent until reading the latest posts here tonight. Getting an EXL for $26-27K+/-...that's amazing to me! And getting the van far below their previously noted internet quotes...is this typical??

Any further advice on getting a fair deal??
  • dsmallsdsmalls Member Posts: 3
Been getting quotes to by an EX-L this weekend. Best so far is Dublin Honda, $27k, with tax and fees OTD price is $29,6xx. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Using Invoice price of $28159, MSRP of $31095. figured a holdback of 3% ($933) and the $750 dealer marketing $$ put their cost at around $26476. Add on the destination of $595 for a total of $27071 and it would seem that they are selling for $71 below their cost.

Now, I'm sure they're making a profit somehow. Still though, if anyone in the SF Bay Area has other experiences, I'd love to hear them, and if we pull the trigger I'll be sure to post an update.
