I purchased a black '07 EX-L yesterday with no options for $25,568.52 including destination. Final OTD price was $27,500.

$2000 dealer cash incentive is being passed on to cash buyers.

    People,
I met with Autopark Honda , Cary NC.
The EX price quote was $24726(offering only $1400 of
the kickback). The EX-L was $26847. All the fees
are in addition (398 for doc, 74 fr regist, 3% NC tax).

Leigh Honda(Raleigh) is offering the EX for $25939 (OTD).
I think this is higher than the Autopark honda pricing.

Can the person that received the deal from the N.Va
    dealer reply to me please?
Along with the contact for the sales person.?

    w4vku{at}yahoo.com. Please replace {at} with @. :)

I have checked with Fairfax Honda. Their pricing was not
attractive. I have purchased vehicles from them in the
    past 10 years.

Procrastination can be good at times :)
No more thoughts about the Toyota Sienna LE (with Opt#3).
The Odyssey is priced lower than $2k for comparable
    features.

    Thanks

Can you give me the name of the dealer/salesperson you talked to about the incentive? My email is mihink at hotmail dot com. Thanks. BTW, I am interested in buying EX-L with RES. :)

Got the car last night at Suburban for 27500 out the door. Suburban added wheel locks, trunk tray and splash gaurds too. Looks like they are selling out quick. Friday night, Tamaroff said they had black, red, silver and white. Saturday only black left. Thanks for everyone's help. First time with internet pricing and my husband liked just going in and signing and leaving with a shiny new car.

Does this apply to a Touring Now?? I had negitiated a price of $35,600, if this brings me down further, it is a go, especially if it is $2,000 lower!!!

hey dino18, can you tell me who your sales person was? i would like to get the same deal as you. you can email me at creativetouch@aol.com. or just reply here. thanks

AFAIK, the incentive is only valid for residents of certain states (not based on the location of the dealer) where I think the Odyssey sales were slow.
  • nil22nil22 Member Posts: 20
As a reference point for others, based on my calculations, congratulations you bought it at the most rock bottom price. I was thinking $25600 is the dealer's cost. So, I might have paid $500 more but that is ok. Because, the longer I have waited, the harder it'd have gotten to find the style and color wanted. I'll go on a limb and make a prediction that I think that Odyssey will sell out between now and end of Labor Day weekend.

This dealer is Hendrick Honda in Woodbridge VA. I have replied to folks who asked for the e-mail of the sales person.

ss777- can you send me a copy of your sales sheet? I am in VA, but that looks like a great price and maybe I can get someone to match it. Is that definitley with destination? I am at 26133, so it looks like the difference is close to the destination charge. My email is chuckjr at creekstone dot com or I could give you a fax #. Thx

Looking for an EXL without NAV and DVD. Does anybody have any good dealership experiences / pricing in Massachusetts? Any word on the $2,000 cash incentive in Massachusetts? Thanks.
  • honda4me1honda4me1 Member Posts: 7
The dealer in Peoria is notorious for this. Only guy in town. Drive to either Chicago or St. Louis. I just bought mine yesterday EX-L w/RES for invoice - 250 - 2000. We pay tax upon registration in MO. Maybe could have done better, but the color I wanted was in limited supply at the local dealers. I e-mailed five, got quotes and colors available went with the dealer with the best trade-in. They gave me the KBB value. I'm happy, they are happy and I can stop reading this board every day. :)

A friend of a friend is the GM of a local dealer, and I've gotten some pretty aggressive pricing from him on all EXL trim levels. I was thinking if we got a few people together we might be able to go even lower. If you are interested, email me directly at chuckjr at creekstone dot com. Once I know how many there are, I will call him and see what we can do.

I spoke to him today, and he said they have over 100 odysseys in stock, so selection should not be an issue. I would think we would all need to buy this week, so contact me asap.

Do you mind giving name of N. Va Dealer? Live closer to that dealer than the Concord one.

    Looking to replace Pontiac Montana.

Anyone have any input on any dealers in Greensboro/W-S/High Point, NC area (such as Crown, Flow, etc) or Danville/Martinsville, VA area (such as John Hoover).

Looking to buy EX-L RES very soon. Replacing Pontiac Montana.

I purchased EX on 8-08-07 and took the delivery on 8-11-07 from AutoSport Honda, NJ. OTD - $27,900. The price was $25,000 plus Destination, TTL. The buying experience was smooth and I had to deal with only one person. I would recommend to buy from them. The sales rep was good and straight forward.

I am just a bit irritated and disguested that they are offering a $2000 incentive and I could have obtained; especially since I took the delivery on 8-11-07.

The pricing was the lowest offered to me over the phone almost by $800 compared to other nearby dealers and hence I made the decision to buy from Autosport. Since the price quoted over the phone was what was offered when I went, the buying experience was smooth.

I wish I had waited another day and negotiated further down....... I cant help but to loose a few days of sleep over this.

This forum was extremly helpful. Thanks!

That sounds Excellent! Would you please e-mail me the particulars, especially the dealer location, to SWinder40Go@msn.com. I am in the Philly area. I'm going in later today to pull the trigger, but if I can improve my deal then all the better.

    Congrats. :)

    Chuck,
I have sent you an email. Count me in.
Please check on both the EX & EX-L trim levels.
I can purchase today or wednesday. Also you may want to
get the exact dealership "pay to" information for
the cashiers check. I heard that they will run a credit
check otherwise if we show up with a personal check.

    People,
The best price so far is from the honda dealer in
woodbridge, VA. The pricing difference between
Autopark Honda in Cary, NC to wood bridge , VA is about
$300 or so on the Ex. The difference is about $550 on
    the EX-L.

If chuck can pull this off, it will be additional savings
    ontop of the above discounts.

I will e-mail the contact info to those that have contacted me. Prices below include destination, and 2000 cash discount, but not the processing ($99).

Several of you have been asking which dealership I purchased the car from. I purchased from Honda on Grand in Elmhurst.

I began correspondence with over 10 dealerships last Thursday. Received very good quotes right of the bat from Castle Honda. Also received several email from dealers as soon as the new promotion was announced. Several dealers were in the 28k range including destination plus TTL. Most came down to the 27k and some the 26k range after I mentioned the 2k cash incentive and some back and forth all via email.

Saturday morning I sent a request for a quote to Honda on Grand in Elmhurst as well as a few other dealerships. They responded right away with a quote for 25,750 including destination. I mentioned the quote I had received from Castle and the salesman offered to beat it right away At that point we switched to OTD price and agreed on $27,500 on the phone. That came to 25,562 when all was said and done.

Unfortunately I forgot to mention mud flaps and cross bar options I wanted before agreeing to the deal. They started quoting full prices for the options with installation at that point :(

In any case I went in to pick up the car Saturday afternoon, half unsure the deal was for real. Sure enough the car was waiting for us in the shade when we arrived and ready for a test drive.

I must say that my experience with Honda on Grand was the most pleasant experience I’ve ever had in purchasing a new car. The salesman I worked with was a gentleman and a pleasure to work with. No pressure, sneaky tactics, an overall really nice guy.

He showed me everything about the car, much of which I knew, but several things I didn’t. He then completed the paperwork, offered additional warrantees with no pressure which I refused, and we were done and I was on my may. He called me again this morning to find out if I had any questions and if the car was ok.

If anyone would like the name of the salesman dealt I worked with at Grand, respond to this with your email address and I will respond since the list forbids us from mentioning names.

This forum has been a great help to me over the last year as I’ve procrastinated with a purchase. I hope you find this information helpful too and wish you all luck with your purchases.

I followed the forum discussion for a couple days now. The Honda on Grand seems to have the best prices in the country. I am negotaiting with Honda dealers in Central Ohio where Honda was born and i am getting a mark up of $1000 on top of what you paid. Please send me the salesperson name and what was included for 25562. Since i do not care for mud guards, strips, etc, It seems that I can knock off another 100 bucks or so. I guess I am becoming really cheap. Anyway, please email me his information at velalis@sbcglobal.net

I researched the following dealers in the NC triad:
    Vann York - OK
Crown - shady reputation, but good overall price + 6 free details, visor, muds, pin stripe all thrown in.
Concord - best internet experience - sales rep was out of town when I purchased
Flow - straightforward, not the best price
John Hoover - straightforward, best price on in-stock vehicle, limited selection (although dealers admitted they don't charge each other for transferring vehicle - I imagine they do pay for transport and gas)
Asheboro - seemed honest, but couldn't get close to the price. (See my earlier post on the pricing)
Gerry Wood - eventually got close on the price, but didn't have the color I wanted. The internet rep didn't even discuss pricing when I visited the dealer, I went straight to the manager.
In this market, you MUST call to discuss pricing. The internet reps are very poor responders, and don't move the price as much as a phone call. Also, the sales Manager (at the main desk) is the guy who will adjust the price. I've seen that the price won't move much at each increment, but you must be patient and keep working with each dealer. All will ask 'what do I need to do to earn your business'. That is where you name your price and walk if it doesn't get there. I was ready to buy on the day before the dealer incentive was announced. I knew about it before some of the sales reps at some dealers! This is a great time to buy, and I agree with an earlier poster that the inventory will shrink or disappear before labor day.
I love negotiating car prices. A lot of folks dread it, but I enjoyed putting the pieces together. I hope some of the other posters can help me with the cost breakdown I posted earlier.

    People,
The EX color choices are diminishing.
I have checked with a dealer in Charlotte. They were left
    with only EXL.
The Sanford Honda (NC) dealer had only white/Red EX.
They were left with just 1 light blue EXL.

The Autopark Honda, Cary NC dealer had gray/white/beige
EX and no light blue EX. Anyway, i got the following
    pricing quotes.

    Sanford Honda
    -------------
EX - 25255 Final OTD price.
FYI, their doc prep is $289 and the Registration is $88.
EXL - 27462 Final OTD price.

    Autopark Honda, Cary NC
    -------------
    EX - 25255 + 99 (OTD)
EXL - $27561 OTD (I purchased one for this price today).

OTD is the price that i wrote my final check amount for.
Never took any extra options. The minivan came with
    floor mats :)

I am sure you can make Autopark match Sanford Honda prices.

Any questions? drop me an email - w4vku{at}yahoo{dot}com

    Good luck

The price you quote must include the 2000 incentive. Ther eis no way it doesnt. Its just that they didnt give you the full amount of the 2000 incentive.

    When did the incentive start?

Can you give me the name of your salesperson?

I got mine from the internet sales department at Steven Vincel. The internet salesperson I had was prompt and followed up with me. Steven Vincel has over 40 Ody's left. You should also check the other area dealers because they have a glut of vans too. Huey's had over 50, Munginast over 70, Meyer ~30, Napleton :lemon: 45, Leta :lemon: 30. I didn't have good experience at either of the last two, but you might do better.

My wife and I are not negotiators, but I wanted to post the particulars since I have valued the opinions and experiences of Edmunds users for quite a while. She test drove all the other vans, but was thrilled with the Odyssey. And when Momma's happy - I'm happy. We purchased at Cale Yarborough Honda in Florence South Carolina. The process was mostly painless, but I don't care who you are or what deal you get, you'll always wonder if the next guy will do better. We are satisfied with the van and hope to enjoy it for many years.

    2007 Odyssey 5DR EX-L RES (silver pearl)
    MSRP- $32,695
    destination & handling- $595
    Total Vehicle Price- $33,290

Hey guys, if anyone is looking for this car in the Bay Area, Capitol Honda in San Jose gave it to me for $27,538 which includes the $2000 rebate. I actually found out after that another dealer would have beaten it by $100, but I was pretty happy with the initial price and pulled the trigger pretty almost right away.

Costco and carsdirect.com were around $28300-$28500. A couple other dealers weren't willing to go this low, so I think it's a good price.

    Total price was $30121.
  • lall_joelall_joe Member Posts: 25
That is an ubelivable price af1914...too bad I am in NJ not Bay Area...enjoy your ride.
