Can anyone advise if $33,600 out of the door is a good price for Honda Odyssey EX-L with RES+NAV in NJ.
  • jtinnjjtinnj Member Posts: 15
I would say that is a good price. Keep chipping them down. You might be able to get another 500 off. What part of NJ are you in?
  • jtinnjjtinnj Member Posts: 15
Where have you been able to get 29,500 for EXL RES? If you know of a place in NJ/PA, please let me know. Thanks!!
  • biofreaks3biofreaks3 Member Posts: 5
That's how much I got my Touring with RES+NAV in the Bay Area. The best quote I received for a the EX-L with RES/NAV was $29,800. I'm not sure how big of a price difference it is between different states, but you should be able to get a better price. Good Luck.

We have an agreement to purchase a Odyssey EX (no extras) for 24385 + TTL. Thanks to those who posted on this site to help me know what price range to offer. I dealt with Samantha(internet sales) at Ray Price Honda in Stroudburg PA. Will let everyone know if we have any problems at closing.

I'm in North Jersey. At dealer I got offer for EX-L (no DVD or Nav) for $29,000 firm. They will throw in the DVD for $300.00 extra if I want. Is that good?

Also, I read something about a $2,000 rebate - is that true? I dont see that anywhere listed.

    Kingsalu,

I'm interested in getting a Touring and live in the Bay Area as well. How much was your out the door price on the Touring you purchased and what dealership did you go through?
  • diexodosdiexodos Member Posts: 4
I actually paid $27081 for the car including destination. The car is purchased in Columbus Ohio.
You should be able to buy an EX-L with Res for 26600-26700 in Chicago at Honda on Grand. Check your email.
  • diexodosdiexodos Member Posts: 4
I can not disclose this information on this site. Ask for a price quote from Honda on Grand and you will be amazed with what is being offered. I like pearl silver colour and they have a great selection of EX-L and EX-L with RES.

Great forum...thanks to Chuck for a great deal on an Odyssey. We purchased 2007 Ody EX-L + DVD(RES) from O'Donnell Honda for $28,586 OTD inclusive of all taxes (VA 3.17%), title and tags. Also, got our preferred color. The dealership was a pleasure to work with. If anyone wants a similar to deal, I can refer you to my salesperson. Good luck to all. :)

Anybody buying an Ody in southwest michigan?

I have never solicited quotes from dealers via email but I want to try it and quickly get to an acceptable price before having to go sit in a dealer showroom.

Any tips on how to approach this?

    thanks so much.

( When I bought my last vehicle, I had a baby sitting in my arms in the showroom for 4 hrs dealing with a salesman, NEVER AGAIN)
  • tel1111tel1111 Member Posts: 2
Also, How many of you are doing trade-ins and extended warranties?

If you are doing trade-ins, are you waiting until you have reached your final negotiated price on the Ody?

If you are doing extended warranties, why?

    thanks so much.

Any ideas on what the best price I can expect on a new Touring with Navi and DVD in Arkansas?

    Thanks!
  • cooper13cooper13 Member Posts: 14
Wow, I am surprised to hear that...I bought my Ody there last October and had the best experience. They had the best price than any other dealer around. I think only Sherwood in Delray came close. They had the lowest price and when i showed up to buy it, there were no games and everything was just as stated over the internet.

Just leased a Touring w/ Nav & RES in Texas. Here's the deal--

    Sticker: $39,690
    Car Price: $34,000
    TTL&Fees: $2,988
    Months: 24
    Miles: 15,000/yr
    MF: .0014
    Residual: 59%
    Payment: $650

I think someone from the west coast indicated that they paid about $33,500 for the same vehicle, and that's consistent w/ my $34,000 above, so you should expect something in that range.

Check online inventory at various dealers - there are plenty of these left, so you'd have your choice of color options. I'm in Dallas, so not a bad drive from AR if you can't find one closer.

More importantly, my deal suggests that the $2K dealer cash CAN be used in conjunction with a lease (apparently, others have been told that it can't be combined with Honda's special financing rates that start at 2.9%). Good luck.

Made a deal last weekend, but haven't finalized because the dealer had to trade for one that's still inbound--should get it in about a week or so.

Price: $35,000 (including wheel locks and mud flaps)
Extras: $800 for third row sun shade, cargo board, and wood paneling (faux) on dash and cupholder switchplates.
    So, $35,800 plus tax.

I'm told this is invoice minus $1,300 of the $2,000 incentive (plus some extras at cost). I felt pretty good about this deal, then I saw some of you getting even better deals. I should probably just feel good, and not beat myself up over the fact that some other sophisticated buyer (I think anyone who uses Edmunds, especially these forums is very sophisticated) somewhere in the country got a better deal. We have a third child due in a matter of weeks, so I'm willing to pay for convenience (the dealership, where we will likely have the car serviced, is 5 minutes from home). Plus, my wife was very specific that she wanted Black/Tan, which is apparently hard to find, so we couldn't strike a better deal for something on the lot (it had to be tan leather, and she wouldn't do white or red).

Traded in a 2002 BMW X-5 with 48,000 miles on it. Got $18,000 for it, which is what Edmunds values it as for being in "fair" condition. The dealer says they do all trades at "fair," regardless. It was probably between "good" and "fair," so it's the low end of what I should have taken, but again, I don't want to be trying to sell a car when my wife could go into labor any minute.

Thanks to all of you for the valuable input you've provided, which I'm sure saved me thousands of dollars (dealers won't mention the $2,000 until you mention it first--I probably should have insisted on the whole thing; but, again, convenience).

Any suggestions on where to get good Oddy accessories for reasonable prices?

Planning to buy Odyssey Ex-L with RES. Got quotations from various dealers in Denver. So far the best offer is: $30495+tax.

    Is this a good deal?

Is any one out there who bought this vehicle in Denver, co recently. I would like know how much they paid.

    Thanks
  • jetzzsjetzzs Member Posts: 64
    girigv,

The price you stated seems high. I am in Nebraska and the prices here seem to be quite a bit higher than the east and west coasts. However, Honda has the $2000 factory to dealer incentive that came out last week.

When I found this out, I emailed and called the dealers around here, they confirmed it, and said they were willing to pass most of it on.

The invoice price for the '07 EXL-RES according to Consumer Reports is $30,036. I have been looking for an EXL (invoice is $28,534).

What I did was tell them I wanted to be around $26,500 +TTL and asked them if they could come close. After a couple back and forths they agreed to $26,792. Another dealer in the area said they would match that price.

I have also been able to get an interest rate of 6.25% with this price.

Also, I have a trade-in but it is being dealt with completely independently of the Odyssey price. We didn't discuss it until the final price for the van was agreed on.

    Best of luck.

    jetzzs

That is way too high. We just bought an EX-L in Maryland for $27,100 out the door. The $2,000 is not a rebate-- it is a factory to dealer incentive and they obviously are giving you a price that doesn't include it, so TELL THEM you know about it (they may not offer) and watch the price go down down down!

I will be picking up an EXL-RES at Valley Honda in Aurora, IL this morning. Price is 27,776 including destination. Got more for my trade than CarMax would offer as well. Had planned on financing for 60 months through Costco's Capital One relationship for 5.9% for 60, but the dealer said they could beat that rate through Honda - we'll see this morning. Overall, very pleasant experience. BTW - the price was quoted to me via the "dealer quote" section of Honda's website. Was $200 cheaper than what Grand Honda offered, and Valley is much closer to me. Oh, and they have like 150 Odysseys in stock - they have basically every color and configuration.

I may consider driving up to IL for that price even though I am maybe 1000 miles away in NC.

Before you go that far, there's a place in MD where you could likely get an EX-L RE for $27,547 + tax/title/$99 fee. Read back thru the recent posts on this board or send me a note.
  • ewl930ewl930 Member Posts: 21
Thanks Chuck and all for the great pricing advice. Drove home a new EX-L last night from Herson's Honda in Rockville, MD for $27,100 OTD. Great experience, done all by email with our best price beat in less than an hour, no hassles whatsoever picking it up, our best car buying experience so far. Internet salesperson gets paid by units, not price, so was a huge help and very friendly. We're very, very pleased. Thanks everyone!

    hello:

I live in Raleigh, NC. Maybe we can coordinate a trip to MD? With both of us combined buying power, perhaps we can get a good deal. I am looking for an EX-L or EXL RES, white color.

Shoot me an email tarheelisnumberone@yahoo.com if you want to do this.

The best quote I got so far is $27400 from an NC dealer for an EXL out-the-door. We can call him back to see if he matches or beats.

    Cheers,
    Alex
