Thank you for the info.
- What options did you get with EXL?
- Is there a way I can have the salesperson recall your info, if needed?
Thanks.
I would do your research on the Honda Care Extended warranty via Bernardi or Saccucci. I would also look at oddyclub.com under their Warrenty Talk Forum. I see that one of the dealers on the Cape is offering 5% off the $1230 price for the warrenty (8/120K).
I would print out the cost for the on-line Honda Care Warranty and then ask Bock to match it. When I did this to them, they said they could not do so, so I bought it about one month later from Bernardi.
base price: $ 28588
doc fees & dmv 295
destination 635
ny tax 8.375 = 2472
Total 31990
I got 2.9% financing with 2000 down. When I use the payment est. calculator, the monthly payment came up to be $877.
When I went to discuss financing (that's the part that I screwed up) I was told that my monthly payment is roughly 940. They gave me a 2nd option 1.49% with a protection package (Basic buyer protection, HC warranty, 72m/8k miles, passive remote alarm, classic loss protection, window etching) of 3500 for a total monthly pmt $966. We were told that for additional $40 (x36= 1440total ) a month we have a whole package. But when I returned home, I ran the numebrs again. How can it be that I'm coming up with 877 monthly payment and they with 940 without a plan or with a plan 966?
When I called up next day to cancel the package, I was told that I can't, although they didn't install the alarm and didn't provide etching yet. Can they do that? (service not render yet, right?) Plus, they said that 940 included bank origination (995) fee, which wasn't mentioned during price negotiations at all. And this fee was waived in the 2nd offer. Can they do that?
I've read that I can cancel HC warraty within 60 days. What about the other parts of the package?
Plz advize me about my rights in NY. I know I can file a compain against them with BBB. But it'd be my last resort
Added the mudguards for 100.
If you are willing to post your email, I can send the emails I received from the internet sales teams. I am sure they remember everything. I got the van from Julio. Very responsive and timely. Final transaction was about an hour 15min in the dealership since we added my wife to a new credit app and got the 2.9% 36 month financing....otherwise I think we would have been done in 35-45 minutes.(Included car inspection and brief drive).
RES should be 1400 to 1500 more. No idea on the NAV.
May I ask which dealer you contacted is quoting close to invoice?
It appears to be a very good deal. Does that price really include the close to $2,000 NJ state tax. If it does can you tell me the name of the sales person at the Honda of Essex? Thanks!!!!
with 24900 + 635 + 7% + 199 + 435.
Thanks.
Just fyi I am shopping in Northern VA and my local dealer is Hendrick Honda. I have only heard good things about them. If anyone has any contacts let me know. I am looking to close on the 31st.
Thanks

OTD price $41,187.54
I got 2.9% financing too
Don't have time to take it to Carmax? That's the sort of attitude that costs many consumers thousands of dollars in automotive transactions every year. Competition is the only thing that dealers respect.
If you think any dealer is going to give you private party money on a trade, well, you're dreaming. Getting book trade money is usually an accomplishment.
Thanks,
ben
On a separate note - has anyone tried using a credit card to pay for a significant chunk of the car? Last time I bought a Honda, the dealer said that they could only charge 2k to the card because it costs them too much. Is this true?
They tried to give me a giant run around when I got there...after oh 4 calls to the dealer before driving the 1.5 hrs from RI. But I just calmly explained that my 4 year old would indeed be peeling the paint off the walls and how could anyone possible expect a 3 month old to wait 3 HOURS to speak with someone to clear this up (of course I said that part really LOUD so heads turned...ha) and VIOLA the "business dev." guy came right over with the cancellation form...we were out the door asap cruising home in my my first mini van!
Thanks to all the help here we got a good price
26,850 including all fees except tax
Is this a good price? This is before tax, tags, etc. etc. I will be reading through the posts here, but given the short time frame we were hoping that someone might share their expertise. If $33K is not a 'steal', at what price should we forego a good deal onan 08 (with regular tires) and get this one?
Thanks for the help!
Thanks!
The biggie (if you need them) probably would be crossbars for the roof rack. The ones that I have on my '05 are mudflaps, wheelwell trim, rubber floor mats, cargo mat, and the cargo tray (for the well behind the third seat). Take a look at an Odyssey accessory brochure for others to determine what you might need.
There's another issue that you might want to think about. The regular PAX tires are not the best in snow. Given that PAX tires prices vary quite a bit, I would urge you to negotiate a price that includes a set of PAX snows and have them mounted prior to delivery.
and add to 21000 3% title, 399 for documentation and 4.9% apr for 60 months.and sales tax
Is that a good price. Please advice as I am going back to the dealer tomorrow.
Anyone know about current financing deals? I think I read that people were getting as low as 4.9%?
Sounds like I should take a deal tomorrow if I get around $32K, with real good financing and a few 'extras' thrown in.

RES is standard on the '07 Touring. The R&N adds the navigation system and back-up camera.
Just to give you an idea, about the cheapest that anybody has reported buying a set of PAX tires is about $800 with some Honda stores getting as much as double that.
Honda is offering 60 month 4.9% '07 Odyssey financing to qualified buyers through Wed.
Let us know how things turn out.
Thanks:)
Thanks:)
Can you share the dealership name? This looks like a very nice deal!!!
Yours,
Murali.

Dealer in Rockville, MD. I drove up from N. Virginia... I recommend others from N VA do the same.
Came with wheel locks and door edge guards (don't ya love how dealers want to charge $300-400 for the exact same wheel locks you can get off http://www.hondapartsdeals.com/ for $58).
Looks like I'll be getting HondaCare through Saccucci or Bernardi.
