I think Honda has a special on leasing going on. It's for theTouring with RES/NAVI for $429/mo, 36mo with $2999 down. Check out the Honda website.

That number includes destination, but not TTL. I believe driveout was close to $32K.

I walked away from the deal.

I am also looking for an EX-L with RES in the Monterey area. Any quotes someone can send me also? Thanks
  • sethubalasethubala Member Posts: 17
EX-L with No RES/NAV - $29,474.00(Drive out price inclusive of destination, TTL & Docs)

Is this a reasonable price for EX-L, Its from a Houston dealer ? Please comment
  • derricksonderrickson Member Posts: 131
    Hi,
I will provide my 2 cents... 1st, I am going to assume your base price for the Ody was somewhere around $27,550? That leaves roughly $1700 for tax plus some additional for the fees (tags, document, etc).

Assuming $27,550 is your sales price, that looks to be very near the target I was aiming for last week (Invoice less 2%msrp less $2000). For the EX-L, I show that target to be $27,144. So it looks like you are just a few hundred above. If they're "throwing in" any extras (wheel locks, tint, rear cargo mat, etc) then that makes up the difference right there.

Overall, I don't feel you're leaving much on the table. Good job! ;)
  • sethubalasethubala Member Posts: 17
Thanks for the update. I believe tint comes by default from Honda or from Dealer, if they add for TINT then we are losing something.

BTW, how can we get the 27144(target price) ?
  • derricksonderrickson Member Posts: 131
BTW, how can we get the 27144(target price) ? Ummmm....ask? :P Seriously, that was just a target. You can ask (or email) around, and tell dealers you are ready to buy an EX-L for $27000 + TTL and see what the response is. You know you already have $27500, so it just depends how much you care to work it. There comes a point where they will just say "no thanks" but I don't know what that number is.

No, I didn't take any finance.. financing offers started around apr 1st. but I think its either dealer incentive or financing offers.. I am not sure if you can get both of them.. it would be a killer deal if you can get both of them..
Regarding the price without NAV.. I've no idea. probably you can deduct the MSRP difference between those models from my price and start there..

    Hey Experts! :)

I've been wanting an Odyssey for a year now and we believe we're going to take the plunge and buy! I've emailed a few dealers and so far only 2 have emailed back with the information we've requested. Below is the local dealer: He has stated that this price is $1k below invoice and has destination and accessories included in this price. If we take this offer I will have him re mail me stating this. Here's his email:

WE HAVE THE VEHICLE IN THE COLOR YOU ARE INTERESTED IN CURRENTLY HERE IN OUR INVENTORY. THE PRICE OF THE VEHICLE WEOULD BE $30,595.THE TOTAL WITH T.T. AND L. WOULD BE $32,736.

I have another dealer 2 1/2 hours south giving me a quote of $31k out the door. He too has broken down prices. HOWEVER, the local dealer is telling me its due to hail damage they received last week in a series of storms that hit Tx. Below is his email:

The MSRP of the 2008 Honda Odyssey is $34,445.00, and the Bankston Honda Internet quote*, including the $635 destination charge is $28,900.00. On top of that, you would have 6.25% State Sales Tax, about $185.00 in Title and License Fees plus about $45.00 in State Advalorium Tax. Approximate total would be $30,940.00 area.

Bottom line, I want $31k. I have financing in hand. Its 2.90% and is effective from 4-15 -31 May so I have some time to see if they'll give me my $31k.
Should I take the $32k and make the deal?

    Thanks for insight
    Stephanie

So the local dealer won't match the out of town price? And is claiming the out of town vehicle is damaged?

Simply send an email to the out of town dealer and point blank ask if the vehicle in question has (or ever had) any hail damage. If the answer is no, make the drive. If the answer is yes but it's been repaired via paintless dent repair, make the drive. If the answer is yes, decline the deal.

My guess is that your local store is simply high.

    Hello,

I am planning to purchase a Ody some time towards the end of next month. I was looking at the Honda Finance web site and there was a place where I can get a "pre approval". Has anybody done this and further used it to purchase a Honda?

How does the process work(after the approval)? I understand there are some dealer incentives that work only with cash/alternate finance options etc. Assuming I negotiate a price that is to my liking can I just tell the dealer I have Honda Finance approval and just pay for the van that way and be done with?

    Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

    Best,
    vadai :)

I have been offered the following for a new 2008 Honda Odyssey EX-L:

    Base Price: $26,039.05
    Destination: $635
    Documnet Fee: $399
    Title: $28
    GA Lemon Law: $3
    + Sales Tax

+$1,000.00 for special 2.9%/60 months financing

Should I accept this price or continue to haggle?

I haven't been looking long and this seems like it is too good to be true.

I would like to check what prices you guys have paid for an EX in Seattle/WA state area. I will be buying shortly -(1 week) and I need to know area prices and experiences. I noticed seattloverlover price for 24.5 k some 1 month ago. Anybody else ? My experiences with the Honda dealers have been less pleasant in the past (ended up buying a Nissan just in spite ! and happy with it !!).
Thank you for your help: email is doarcineva@yahoo.com

4 of us have been haggling with Honda dealerships via email around metro ATL for about 2 months now. The lowest written offer we got is from Curry Honda for $28,600 for an EX-L.

We didn't take it since it's 4 of us buying and we all know the van sales are slow and we're not in a hurry. So we just offered most of the dealerships in the northern part of the city a package deal offer of 4 vans for $28K OTD price (with 7% sales tax) for each.

They've been emailing for us to drop by their dealership to negotiate but we just told them that we won't come unless they agreed to deal with our offer.

What was the break down? I am thinking 28,500 +ttl for EX-L RES is what I want. Does that seem about right? Should I be looking for lower/higher?

Pls click the link below to find out the real incentives

  • holleholle Member Posts: 10
My best quote so far was $30,761.66 OTD on an 08 EX-L W/RES here in Central Florida. Hope that helps!
  • derricksonderrickson Member Posts: 131
Wow. I wonder where that $4500 incentive is being offered! :confuse:
  • monkymonky Member Posts: 16
Wow... how do we get the $4k rebates!!! The only thing I have managed is $2k below MSRP for a Touring.
  • res149res149 Member Posts: 19
I heard about $2000 dealer incentive but $4500 is news to me.
When did that change ? When does the dealer get $4500 instead $2000 ?
  • derricksonderrickson Member Posts: 131
The only thing I have managed is $2k below MSRP for a Touring. Yikes! You did mean $2K below INVOICE....right? ;)
  • sethubalasethubala Member Posts: 17
From consumerguide it says 2000-4500, but it didn't specify for each trim of odyssey. anyone knows where to look for rebates for a particular trim like EX-L.
  • res149res149 Member Posts: 19
We ordered last month a 2008 Honda Odyssey EX-L RES / NAV (factory order)

    vehicle 30,755.00 includes destination charge

    accessories 247.50
    cargo net
    AS floor mats
    31,002.50

    tax 2,480.20 8%

    fees
    docs 45.00
    NYS tire recycle 12.50
    NYS Inspection 10.00
est. DMV 150.00 for 2 years registration with new plates

    total 33,700.20

With the new dealer incentive I should have done better...
We are getting the cars by the end of this month ... too late to get a better price, I guess !
  • sethubalasethubala Member Posts: 17
One more dealer is now offering 29350 OTD on EX-L, should i ask about the 4500 incentive with them, since i came to know that rebate only today?

Unless you have some other verification (other than that website), then I'm not sure exactly what you are aware of?

    Has anyone else confirmed $4500?

Thanks to all the posts and feedback I got a great deal on my new Odyessy at honda of Hayward. It took a while to negociate, basically went there with my target pricing guessing they would not accept it, after 3-4 hours they finnally agreed :)

$30150 = Price for car (includes des. fee's)
    $350 = doc/license fee's
    $2642 = sales tax (8.75%)
    =====
    $33142 = out the door

$15500 = trade in of my 2002 RX300 2WD with 81k miles on it (basically got private party sell for it). This took close to 3 hours of negociation.

Net cost came to $17642 for a new EXL with DVD/RES + they also gave me a ipod touch (sells for $299).
  • nkyhondankyhonda Member Posts: 8
I just bought an 08 EX-L with RDVD system for 28,500 that included destination. I was also able to use Honda's 2.9% financing and recieved over blue book on my trade. It is a buyers market despite what the sales people want you to believe. Honda won't offer any great deals, but they will beat them if you find them.Try the internet dept first they are allways cheapest.
  • rtgtigerrtgtiger Member Posts: 3
I hope to make my purchase tomorrow night. I have a slightly better price than what I posted originally. I will post after the purchase is complete to let you know our OTD.
  • cheapdad000cheapdad000 Member Posts: 33
IMHO, the $2000-4500 marketing support/incentive for the Odyssey posted to the consumerguide website is inaccurate. They had posted that there were no available incentives on the Odyssey for the longest time (e.g. they previously had a $2500 incentive which expired at the end of Feb (which I believe should only have been $2K) even though the $2K incentive has been readily available the month of March and then into April. Also, they are publishing the same $2K-$4.5K incentive for the Ridgeline, which happens to have a confirmed $4.5K incentive (edmunds, honda dealers selling for $5K below invoice on the Ridgeline). My guess is they published incorrect information.

lowest quote i got is 31900otd@0.9%with 7.25taxes for exl with resi think 31000-31500 will be a good deal keep working and keep informed
  • navtejnavtej Member Posts: 19
what was your out the door and at what tax ?
    thanks
  • mandargbmandargb Member Posts: 9
    It is kind of funny.
I think edmunds.com and cars.com is not accurate either.
In my last 4 months of using this site it never told me that such discount is going on.
Consumer guide at least puts up the information.
    For example:
When consumer guide was putting up this information in say february, edmunds and cars.com was still not factoring that in the price when they show you as gaurenteed price.
For example on touring model when cars.com was showing 35900+tax, people in our area already had emailed quotes for 34100+tax.
So I think I would treat these sites not different the real dealer person as far as prices go.

While helping friends shop for their new van, received offer of $25,864 +T&L through internet sales at Klein Honda (Everett, WA). Incl. splashguards, wheel locks, 3M clear door edge guards. Very straightforward, upfront pricing. Great experience.
  • holleholle Member Posts: 10
Lowest offer for me on the EX-L R&N is 32K OTD (all fees/tax included in that price). seems that's the lowest they will go. does this sound good, or does anyone know of someone getting lower than this in FL? Thanks!

    Hello,

I am planning to purchase an EX-L with RES in NJ. What would be good price to shoot for? I hope to avail myself of the 0.9% for 36 months deal if possible.

    Thanks,
    V
  • greddygreddy Member Posts: 5
did that include the nav? what zip code are you in? i saw a commercial yesterday that they are having 0% apr on odyssey.
  • greddygreddy Member Posts: 5
I just got a response from houston, tx for 32800 OTD. Is this a good deal?
  • vadaivadai Member Posts: 14
I saw a similar deal 0% financing at a Honda in Rt 22 in NJ. They also limit the loan to $10k as per the fine print.
  • sethubalasethubala Member Posts: 17
29350 OTD for EX-L with NO RES/NAV , i think you can add 3K top of that should be fair.
  • derricksonderrickson Member Posts: 131
Oh man... here is an email I just received from a local dealer. Cut-and-pasted his EXACT words:
The price for the Touring is 24,999.00 plus taxes title and license. this is the model without run flat tires. :surprise:
I replied back to him that I would like to purchase two. Have not heard back... ;) Obviously this is a type-o....but I wonder if they are under any type of obligation to honor an emailed offer??? If so, I think I might buy three! :P
  • sethubalasethubala Member Posts: 17
    Could you tell which dealer?
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
No, because as you say it was clearly a mistake and so understood. It gets more interesting, though, if it's a much closer number to reality, say, $31,999.
  • bertabongbertabong Member Posts: 10
    Is this a good deal?

    $24,466 - vehicle ** using $1000 financing cash and 2.9% financing

    $635 - destination

    $99 - processing

    $1,512.00 - taxes **6% effective January 1st, 2008!!!!

$290 - new tags (or $120 to transfer tags).

Total on the road price $27,002.00

We will sell the accessories at our cost, no markup.

To clear up any rumors, there is NO $4500.00 dealer cash on ANY trim-level Odyssey vans.

Ther is just $2000.00 dealer cash or, if you use the low rate the dealer cash is just $1000.00. And no, there is no super-secret adjusted "advertising" money on the Odyssey like we are finding on 4cyl Accord sedans.

Belive me, if there were $4500.00 on an Odyssey I would buy one too.

On the otherhand, I have seen dealers pretty much going to NET, giving customers almost all of the hold-back too. It must be a tight market out there, everyone is tripping over the same customer to see who can take the biggest hit to capture a customer. Pretty sad.
