    Hi,

I got a quote from the dealer. She didn't want to disclose details/other fees except saying good price under 29k (reasonable?). Any suggestion whether there might be some catches (not new car or damages). It seems it is the basic price. :confuse:

    thanks,

Hi, got a price on an EX-L, no Nav or RES.

    Vehicle Price: $35,685.00
    Market Savings: - $5,935.00
    Vehicle Selling Price: $29,750.00
    TRIM MASTERS PREMIUM: + $210.00
    WHEEL LOCKS: + $88.00
    SmartChoice Price: $30,048.00

    Sales Tax (estimate): + $966.75
    Tag/Registration Fees (estimate): + $67.50
    Documentation Fee: + $449.00
    Balance Due (estimate): $31,531.25

So 31,500 out the door, can i do better?

I should note that their first offer came in at 32,342 out the door:

The dropped out Perma plate protection cost
and reduced the wheel locks & trim master by 50% (dealer add in cost)

I plan to stand my ground at 31k out the door, but want to be sure then can actually do that.

That seems to be the best yet! Congrats! Can you share with me where you are buying and any other details? We'd like to make our purchase this upcoming week.

    Thank you!

Hey, I live in cincinnati. Can you please provide me the dealer name? I want to buy the same model with RES and did not get a good price so far. The best I got is $32075 plus taxes.

We bought from Jeff Wyler Honda Colerain, from the Internet sales team. I worked them against Hidy Honda in Beavercreek, as they initially gave me the best deal. It took some time but you can get there- they were tough to move until I told them the deal I was getting at Hidy. Hope this helps.

We had a great experience at Jeff Wyler - walked in the door with an agreed to price(with taxes) and the service was very good once we got there.

I just bought a new Odyssey EX-L w/RES for OTD 33800 from Pohanka Honda.

    Invoice 31411
    Processing Fee 399
Rest is Tax (6% for PA) + Tag ($73)

    No accessories.

I could have negotiated a bit but, I'm happy with the price.
  • remzi1remzi1 Member Posts: 1
Good job on the price! Most likely you capitalized on the end of month 8/31 pricing. We bought ours yesterday and OTD $31,863. Requesting to look at their Invoice and what their gross would be - it showed a approximately (-$3000).

Though they are able to still make money on the deal, one dealership would not go below "-1300" gross with me. So, I took his quote and with a trade-in that would have provided less than $1000, got the final price to be $30,563. Taxes killed us here in NW Indiana.

We are looking to purchase in the next day or two in NW Indiana. Can you tell me the dealer you used? We are looking at an EX-l RES (wonder if you had a quote on this from the dealer?)

    31,400

    414-ish tags & fees

    2755 tax

    34,566 total OTD

included wheel locks, mud flaps, and the cargo tray in the back. they didn't have the color i wanted (black) on the lot so they went and got it from another dealer. process was so easy. i only talked to one dealer. just stick to your guns, do your research, and be willing to walk away.

i also got the 0.9 financing for 60 mos.

    thank you edmunds!!

Bought the car on Sept 1.

    MSRP: $44,655
    Sales Price: $37,852
Pro-pack: $379 (included wheel locks, mud flaps, cargo tray)
    Taxes at 7.75%: $2969.10
    OTD with registration/documentation: $41,656.45

I didn't want the pro-pack and the internet sales manager assured me that it would be taken off when we got to the dealership. It was still on the car and he said they wouldn't charge me. One thing I should have done was sign the paper stating the final sales price before having to disclose my monthly gross salary and agreeing to a credit check. Once they found out how much I made and that my credit score was 800+, I was told that the sales manager wouldn't agree to give me the pro-pack for free and that I had to pay the $379 or walk out. I wasn't too happy about this so I negotiated for a free oil change and for them to allow me to charge an additional $1000 to a credit card.

It wasn't until we drove off the lot and I'm following my husband whose is in the mini-van did I realize that the mini-van came with roof rails. So I guess we made off with $210 roof rails.

I also live in the bay area and the quotes I was getting was around $38,800 (including destination).

Hello, we're also looking for a Touring or a Touring Elite in the Bay area.
So far the quotes we got for the 2012 Touring is close to $37400, but Touring Elite is much higher. Would you mind sharing the name and location of the dealer you went to? Thank you.

Just purchased EX-L RES at Sierra Honda. Thank you for whoever suggested this dealership. I contacted over 10 dealers and they provided by far the best deal and the experience was outstanding. Other dealers provided good deals, but Sierra gave us the best deal. They didn't have the color my wife wanted, but they were able to trade from another dealership and still honor their quote. Also, no dealer add-ons to try and increase the price they gave us a quote and they honored it. I highly recommend anyone looking for an odyssey contact the Internet sales dept. at Sierra. All the staff there was very knowledgable when it came to all the specs and features of the vehicle. We had also considered and test drove a Toyota sienna, but found the Honda to be a better fit for us, a better value and a better sales experience all-around.
  • chopstixwifechopstixwife Member Posts: 3
It depends on the color you want and if they have it in stock.
Here's my list of dealers in the bay that I received online quotes from:

Honda of Oakland - $38,148 then it jumped to $38,902 when I asked for a breakdown of the prices, which really annoyed me.

    Grace Honda - $39,299
    Anderson Honda - $38,988
    Autowest Fremont - $39,888
    Dublin Honda - $41,955
    Honda of Berkeley - $39,653
    Concord Honda - $38,778
    Berkeley Honda - $39,653

    All quotes included destination fee.

I purchased mine at Autowest Honda in Roseville since I also live in Sacramento part time. They didn't have the color I wanted so they traded with Auburn Honda. They didn't charge me for a trade fee but I ended up paying for the pro-pack.

Autowest Roseville and Fremont are sister companies so you can try getting a quote from Roseville and see if Fremont will match it. I didn't try this since I liked who we worked with at Roseville. They are volume dealers. Hope this helps.

Just got a quote for Honda Odyssey EX-L with RES Huggins honda in DFW metroplex.

    MSRP : 35854

    Price : 32828

    OTD : 35564

Is this a good price ? It included tint, safety pack option from the dealer. The taxes in TX are killing us for buying the minivan
  • ricksharicksha Member Posts: 4
For you reference, I just completed a deal with Bankston Lewisville on an EX-L with tint, pin stripe and some protection package for $32677 OTD. Given that reference you are paying close to $3K more for RES...

I am searching for the best price for Touring in Southern California. Please share your pricing and dealer. I was aiming for $35k + Tax + Doc Fee. Is this achievable on the 2012's, considering 2013's are just around the corner.

Please share prices paid on Touring (not Touring Elite) :)

For your extended warranty get a quote from Hyannis Honda. I just bought this week for our new EX-L and they were the cheapest. Very nice & easy guy to work with on getting your warranty.

    I Just Leased an EX-L w RES - 36 Mo, 45000 Miles, $2000 down from Coggin Honda.
Final Price was $32150 + Tax, Transfer tag, Title.
Ended up with monthly payments of $415 a Month with $2000 down.
The lowest i got in Orlando area, The next was Holler Honda for $423, with $2000 down.
By the way, they tried to sell me the Extended warranty package for the excess of 36000 Miles of my lease since Honda only covers 36000 Miles, it also includes wear and tear on electrical and power parts which are not included in Honda Warranty.
They also offered a prepay maintenance plan covering oil changes, tire rotations - not tires, Breaks, Battery replacement, etc.
It also includes a $500 coupon off the down payment for the next purchase.
all this would have added $41 to my Monthly payments.
    I passed.
Does any one has a take on that?

I am also in the market for 2012 EX-L W/Res, and I think you got one of the best OTD deal in Atlanta area, for this trim. I know this because I have also been checking odyclub.com, for local and other areas.

Do you mind sharing the name of the dealership you purchased this from? 2013s are coming out soon and also their 0.9% financing will continue till Oct 31, 2012, as I just saw. Thanks!

rashidrana, I went to the Frisco dealer and got the run around even after I had made it clear to the salesman (via email) that I was looking to make a quick deal! Instead he did exactly the opposite... Of course I realized it pretty quick and walked out after wasting about 30 minutes...

Yes I can refer you to the person I dealt with and also email/call him if you like! How do I contact you? Do you have a general email?

EDIT: rashidrana, just letting you know that I made the deal at the end of Aug. and there was a $1250 dealer incentive available.. Even then the Mckinney/Frisco dealers would not budge much!! In either case it will be somewhat YMMV with your experience in buying the vehicle... But it does not hurt to try!!!!!
  • chaganichagani Member Posts: 9
I subscribe to the CR.org bottom line price guide, powered by TrueCar.com. Checking for their current incentives shows that on the EX-L trims (w/o RES, w RES and w/Nav), they have, dealer incentives of $1250 for each of these trims, in addition to dealer hold backs between $700-$740. They are also continuing to offer the 0.9% for 24-60 months. I was on odyclub.com website and someone pointed to this, stating that $1250 expired and has been lowered to $750 (http://www.realcartips.com/honda-incentives/), but that is not the case, at least from what CR site is showing.

We bought an EXL w/ RES in NJ at the end of Aug for $33,800 OTD. I was originally aiming for EXL only version, thinking the RES would cost at least $1,500, which, I always argue, is enough to buy each of my kids an iPad. Turns out RES was only $800 more, negotiated down from $1,300 the dealer first offered. You can barely get an after-market DVD system installed by BestBuy for that price, plus it's given me better control over when/what they watch - think kid iPad addiction. In the end, the dealer also throw in a full set of all weather floor/trunk mat, which was nice.

    Anyhow, here's the breakdown:

    EXL+RES: $30,750 (incl. destination)
Registration: $400 (good for 4 yrs I think)
Nitrogen fill: $59 (rip-off, somehow worked its way in there and can't take it off)
    Doc fees: $400
    Other crap: $40 (don't remember)
    Tax: $2,152
    ---------
    Total: $33,800

Couple of observations: The dealer seemed motivated to sell only cars they have on the lot, luckily they have the right trim/color I wanted. Our timing was also good (end of month), as the dealer insisted that we pickup the car before 9/1 so they can book it as Aug sales.

    Hope this helps.

Has anyone from California gotten close to this price? I haven't been able to get any dealer to come close to $30,750 for an EX-L w/RES. Most of them are at least $32k.

John, I am also in the market for 2012 EX-L W/RES, To match the price dealer wants to see the invoice copy. Do you mind sharing the name of the dealership and copy of invoice..

We never saw the EXL for under $31k and when we were looking at EX-L w/NAV the best price we got was $32,500. (We got a couple of lower prices but the dealers were a hassle and had dealer add-ons and additional fees.)
