I added fogs 799. leather wrap steering wheel 169. Cargo area plastic tray/mat, door guards, fenderwell trim, mud guards, privacy cover for back well ... they tossed in free pinstripe.
Very pleased with car. Kids love the DVD.
I bought the heavy quality floormats from weathertech.com. Highly recommend.
So learn from my mistake people, don't hurry on buying Odyssey. Am I stupid or what? I hate to admit that I am.
Congratulation to people who did the homework very well on purchasing the Ody.

Hats off to Edmunds.com and all the folks who take the time to post information for researchers such as myself.
I have been looking at the Odyssey and Toyota Sienna. I prefer the Odyssey, but the limited supply and limited price negotiation is a sticking point with me.
I've been using the internet to reseach and reach out to dealers. So far I have one offer of $700 off MSRP for a 2003 Odyssey EX - $26,660 in Harrisburg, PA.
Toyota has promotions in effect until 12/2 which may provide some significant discounting of Sienna LE which is the other vehicle I am considering.
Heading to Honda dealership tonight. Wish me luck.
I don't mind waiting for an Odyssey, but a $2000-3000 difference in price may put me in a Toyota (I am okay with Toyota quality - my other car is a '98 Camry CE).

We went to 3 dealers. First, there was only one on lot, so we left thinking there was little negotiating power.
Second dealer was Goodson North in Houston. They told my husband a grand over msrp. Obviously we left there too.
Third dealer (Russell and Smith) offered us 26,990 & TTL for a white ex-l. They also offered us 3.9% financing thru Honda. The last wild card was our trade-in and we haggled over that, but finally got what we wanted. Other than the waiting around with 2 small children, it was pretty painless.
We told the finance guy about our experiences at the other dealers and he said that they had extra Odys on the lot and that is why we got that price. Once only a few were left, the price would go back up.
We would have tried to shop using the internet, but because we had a trade-in we though that would have been difficult.
Hope this can help anyone else looking to buy. I definitely felt empowered hearing everyone else get their prices. BTW, I did most the talking and negotiating!
Put effort wisely to get the best deal. Be patient, not eager. But, whatever deal you got, be happy after purchasing. Odyssey is a great car! You will love it like I do. Good Bye.
I electronically petitioned about 10 dealerships in SoCal. Got 1 response willing to conduct negotiations via email. Great experience.
I was expecting MSRP and that's what I got. But I also got service and no haggling about delivery or unwanted add-ons. I made it clear up front I wouldn't tolerate such games and I wanted this to be cash and carry. That's what I got.
Took about 2.5 weeks from the time I first made contact to the van in my driveway. I got emails almost daily on the progress of it's trek across the country.
In passing I asked where I could get a huge bow for the day of delivery. Next email asked me "what color". No charge.
It came in as promised. I went to look. No surprises. But Sage is darker than I thought it would be. Mentioned I would like to have mud guards. Bonnie said she would take care of it and had them in-stock. Again no-charge.
Delivered on Tukey Day as promised to my delighted and surprised spouse with a big bow on the front. I tipped Bonnie and her daughter .... who made the delivery.
Now....what was that experience worth?
And because I know you'll ask:
Call or email Bonnie at Villa Honda in Hemet, CA.
I could not locate (in stock) the color and model I wanted so I placed deposits at several dealers who were expecting one to arrive in the next few weeks. One dealership (Poway Honda) went the extra step to find the model I wanted at a dealer in LA and swapped a brand spankin' new Pilot for our Ody. No extras or presure to buy extras on signing. Overall a great experience. I also picked up the 7/100/$0 warranty for $1040.
BTW: I LOVE IT! Powerful and smooth.
you caught on to the conspiracy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Earlier in the day, I got a quote for $26,500 with no options.
Yesterday, got a quote for $27,050.
Couple of days before that I got a quote for $27,500.
The MSRP is $27,360.
I would think, based on "Edmound's" writings, I might eventually be able to get it for 3% above invoice, i.e. $25,402.89. (But when stupid people are willing to pay over MSRP, it makes it hard for all the rest of us.)
Shipping is $460.
also, did u find any better deals yet?
good luck....

Also, for those who have dealt strictly with internet sales people, were you quoted an "internet discount"? I questioned one sales person about this discount, asking if it would be different (more or less) if I was a walk-in customer. I'm going to try to put a deal together before going to the dealer. I am a serious shopper, but does shopping around this way affect how serious a dealer make take your intentions?
I think prices will have to coem down since: (1) unenployment went from 5.7 to 6%, (2) November auto sales are down, (3) riots in Venezula that has disrupted oil -- they are a large supplier to USA; (4) stock market went down this week that may indicate end of upward thrust of market, and perhpas double dip recission, (5) war with Iraq that might start any second.
Still, I believe Honda is charging dealers too much and they will have to lower invoice. I'll wait the salespeople out since I can go to work on the bus (a very rare thing in Southern California!!), and did take the bus a couple of weeks back ($1 each way!!). The only thing about the bus is I has to sit next to a whine-O! ALso had to sit next to a coughing kid (the germs!!!!). I bought some TB face masks, and might wear that on the bus next time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Easy to evade on non-titled property, but on titled property they get you at registration.
Now there is always the set-up of an out of state LLC....
I priced all the Atlanta dealers, one in Buford and one in Gainesville. Nobody touched the deals in Texas; and GPH was completely laughable in what *they* thought was a great deal.
Price for the van: 26,690
Dealer fee: $198
Tax: $801
Tag: $61
Drive out price of $27750. I live in NC, this vehicle was sitting on dealer's lot, thats why I could get that price.
