My advice - move to a nice neighborhood.
I suspect the '04 models will be on the lots in September. Anybody wanna bet lunch?
Prisons are gated communities, maybe they should let the inmates out so we can rents rooms and be safe.

Was this done to clear current inventory, or is it another "wise" decision from the folks that force you to bundle BOSE w/airbags and spoilers to have a sunroof?

I often wonder about this kind of thinking. Heaven knows how we would buy our MZ6's if someone weren't making a profit and providing us with salaries.
Hey, we're picking up on your sarcasm.
Maybe those wise folks think airbags are bagpipes and spoilers are what the moonroof rests on when it is open.

Only on the PRO they did it right.

Thanks.
We sell apx 30+ mz6's per month ...and we have 10 in inventory with no more 2003 on the way and the 2004 arent expected to show up for 90 days or so..
Our entire region is in the same boat....with the exception of some small pockets of inventory the supply is quite low. Our mz6 prices have spiked way up due to the low supply.
But we'll let the market decide, if the prices are too high, it'll keep potential buyers away. It may be good for the dealership temporarily, but for Mazda in the long term, I hope they can better supply those regions that have higher demand.
I've had it for a few months now, and let me tell you that I've had NOTHING but positive reactions to it when I have people in it (I work in the industry). Everything from the ext styling, int styling (women love it!), quietness, price -- I feel I've gotten a great deal. And still turn heads!
I'm suprised no one else on this board had the same problem. I forget to ask if the new fabric will be used for the 2004's(or I guess 2005's for Canada which will probably be next spring)
BTW I saw the RX-8 for the first time. Geez this car looks gorgeous in the flesh. There were 2 left but they were already sold so I couldn't get a test drive. They've all been pre-sold and you're looking at 4 months waiting list if you bought today which of course the salesman was trying to get me to do.
The 90 day wait between model years is due to training the assembly people and programming the robots for the changes, then doing test runs.
Usually, older model prices are lowest when the next year's models are in dealers' hands, not before.

Someone just reported on the BMW boards that they ordered a new German-built BMW from scratch and the car showed up in a US dealership 32 days later. Someone explain to me how BMW can build a car in Germany and have it on dealer's lot in 1/3 the time it takes Mazda, even with the huge advantage of a central US plant.

What is the black one used in the Pro ES and P5 called? That cloth has been very durable in the PRO so far.

I pick my car up from Autovisions today. 35% platinum charcoal.....mmmmm...I can't wait.
Wonder if Mazda would help me pay for it....
We need tough cloth, not hard.
I can compare the cloth seats to denim jean cloth. The denims also start fraying easily compared to "poly-wool worsted" cloths. Now this would be cool, if frayed seats come into vogue, just like frayed denims
They didn't mention anything about waiting for a new type of material. I might call them up and ask about this.

Mark. : )
No major changes. Certainly not under the hood. If you're looking for those kind of changes you will have to wait for either a MazdaSpeed variant or the 3.5L Duratec that Ford has under development that should find its way under the hoods of a bunch of Mazda and Ford products in '06.
If you think ordering a Mazda takes long now, it will seem like forever compared to Toyota.
"The Mazda6 was the perfect car for the job of coping with the wide diversity of European roads.
"Superb handling on the twisty Scandinavian mountain roads helped us set the pace and excellent economy through France and Germany minimised fuel stops," said Alyson.
"The rules stipulate that you have to remain within speed limits so the cruise control was invaluable in ensuring we maintained our momentum but never crept above the legal restrictions and the car was comfortable enough to grab some sleep between driving stints."
The crew were monitored by sophisticated data logging equipment from the start of the event in sub-zero temperatures on the northern part of Norway through to the searing 42 degree C heat in Spain.
"We started the event avoiding reindeer and moose in Scandinavia, moved south through Germany and Luxembourg then headed into France before the final 12 hours along the Spanish coast to Cape Tarifa," said Innes.
"The route has been fabulous," said Iain. "Nordkapp provided a stunning backdrop for the start, Sweden is so long we spent almost 24 hours on the same road and in Germany fast sections on the autobahn enabled us to increase our average speed and arrive at the finish ahead of everyone else."
The 2.3 litre Mazda6 averaged 68 mph on the run with fuel economy around 44 mpg and a range of more than 400 miles on each tank of petrol."

OK, so it's not a REAL race, but it won nevertheless.

About the 90 day change-over, I didn't mean changes to the engine. The new options packages were what I was thinking about. They may have changed some of the items, deleted others.

Gee, I had an 88 MX-6 with the cloth seats and they were the best seats of any car I've ever owned. (about 30 different ones) That fabric was a very short nap so it had more friction than leather but less than velour. It was perfect for zoom-zooming around and after 9 years (and 99K miles) the fabric was in near showroom condition.
