If they are discontinuing these colors, is there any truth to the reeaddition of a shade of blue? What about other colors?
Please let us know... Thanks! Wholigan
2004 Honda Accord EX-L Graphite Pearl
2007 Honda Civic EX - Atomic Blue
2013 Honda Civic LX - Crimson Pearl
The colors for the 2003 Odyssey are as follows: Midnight Blue Pearl, Sage Brush Pearl (replaces Granite Green), Evergreen Pearl, Sandstone Metallic (replaces Mesa Beige), Starlight Silver Metallic, Taffeta White, Redrock Pearl, Havasu Blue and Nighthawk Black Pearl (exclusive to the leather models).
What you say is true, I lived in FL for many years, and white cars were the way to go. But color is a very personal choice, not always a practical one. No one argues the practicality of white - witness the color of most fleet pickup trucks. The Ody looks nice in white, and there aren't too many around here, which makes it look even better.
Regarding the keyfob, I have locked my Civic w/ the remote several times in my sister's driveway and have stood next to the car only to hear the car unlock itself. This has happened several times and only near my sister's house (which is a few miles from an air force base). No where else. I was no where near the unlock button. Guess she won't be interested in buying my car off of me.....Not sure what the explanation is (Hanger 18 or the Xfiles)?
What ladypilot said is true. The new blue, looks to me, very similar to the Eternal Blue of the Civic and Accord, maybe a shade darker. The Sagebrush and the Sandstone will be very big sellers. Nighthawk black pearl with that blue metal flake on a EXL Odyssey and privacy glass will look good.
Should be fun...as Odysseys are!

The answer depends somewhat on what part of town you live in. I was close to town, so didn't have to deal with those glaciated "unimproved" roads on the hillside or long unplowed driveways very often. FWD and studded tires worked fine for me. ymmv :-)

..the best Deal I could get was $1000 over sticker..I Emailed every Los Angeles Dealer thru the Honda Dealer Locate web site... I told them I would pay sticker only with no dealer mark-ups or add ons... I had several dealers call and offer either vans that they were about to recieve or had in stock at that moment for sticker..with no Games... I have done this four different times.. twice for myself and twice for my neighbor we both moved up to the 2002"s when they came out.Try It You Will Like IT
This van was the exact color I was looking for, a top of the line ODY w/ NAV. I went to the dealer in the hopes that I would be like so many others and love this van and take it home. I took it for a test drive here in So. Cal. on paved roads and the freeway. The following occurred:
The dealer was able to fix this problem:
1. There was a ticking sound in the dash. Said it was a bad strut -they put 30+ miles on the vehicle to figure this out.
The following the dealer said was NORMAL for this van and there was NO FIX:
2. The brake pedal was very noisy and clicked when pressed. The hydraulic brakes swished loudly every single time the brakes were depressed (they slightly adjusted for this but it remained). Very annoying.
3. There was a periodic rattling sound from under the vehicle.
4. The driver side sliding door rattled periodically as well.
5. There was a loud bang whenever we backed the car up and stopped. My husband said it sounded like we were rolling over a dead cat. The dealer said this:
a. This is the gas in the gas tank swishing around. or
b. This is a normal sound for all large cars with a big tank - that you can hear the gas moving around. We all know what a load this explanation is. or
c. This is not the gas but just a normal sound the Ody makes.
6. The ABS brake system is extremely loud. Never heard any vehicle with such loud ABS. Try a very hard stop for yourself.
7. The van also had alot of road noise come through the interior, although I could have lived with this.
I have owned many types of cars and SUV's in my life so I speak with experience: Toyota, Lexus, Ford, Mazda, BMW, and Jeep.
This is not to say there are not some great things about this vehicle. With a 2 and 6 year old and one on the way, I will miss the convenient power sliding doors more than I can imagine at this point. The easy access to the rear was also a huge selling point. The interior is quite spacious. This van w/ 240 hp had plenty of power and handled very well.
I expected a quality vehicle, without noises and a solid fit and finish. In my opinion this is not what the Ody is. These problems described are NORMAL according to the dealer and service department. This is a very large dealer I went to so they know their vehicles. I was shocked and very disappointed that the van had all these problems.
If you want an Ody, please take a thorough test drive first.
If anyone has any questions feel free to email me.
Thanks for the information on the colors. I went to our local dealer this morning and saw the Eternal Bue on an Accord. I really liked it.
Can you tell me if they plan to change any options on the 2003 EX Odyssey?
Is pricing out yet for the 2003 models?
I have a 2002 Redrock pearl ordered..due in Mid June for $28,300 out the door with roof rack cross bars, mud flaps and plate transfer.
I am thinking about changing this order to a 2003 Midnight Blue Pearl but want to know how long I would have to wait for one and what the price difference would be. Thanks for your help.
If you like the Redrock, then go for it. If you can wait, and would regret not having the Blue...I would counsel you to wait.

From working in the aerospace industry, they used a plastic eraser, as it did not cause any wear. The brand that they liked the best, at the time anyway, was Staedtler Mars-Plastic. I think maybe Office Depot sells that brand. I also find it works great for erasing pencil marks off of paper. It removes the marks cleanly and does not damage the paper.
I'm pissed because this either didn't happen on the test drive, or I missed it. It happens during small bumps or instances of "chasssis flex", such as irregularities or uneveness on the road.
Thanks!!

I'm sure this has been addressed but I can't find anything specific. I'm going to change out the speakers on my 2001 Odyssey EX. Can someone give me the color code key for the polarity of the wires (i.e. + and -) for the front door and rear speakers. Also, does anyone have a better method other than just cutting the wires to splice in the new speakers? Thanks!

We sure are happy with ours. My wife lets me drive it when it needs gas or mechanical work, otherwise its hers.
I am about to replace the original tire with 34k on the odometer. I am still whether the Mich. x-ones 215/65/16 or the 235/60/16 would better perform. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!!!
The Honda seems to come close, but I have yet to see one with a sunroof. I haven't even seen a dealer's option sunroof.
Has anyone heard of a factory-style, after-market sun/moonroof for the odyssey? Thanks
On top of that, having a portable washer/dryer along with a refrigerator would be even nicer.
I live in northern VA (outside of DC) and the prices here are exorbitant. My husband wants to pay below MSRP. Can anyone give me a reference to a dealer within a few hours drive that charges below MSRP?
Have seen the discussions on the 2003's and the new color chart. Can someone provide a link to the new colors. Anyone know if Honda would have a blue interior with any of the 03 colors?
Lastly, I was quoted $1200 for the warranty, and yet have seen them on here for $800 - $900. Are these $800 - $900 ones through Honda or another company?
Thanks
Steve/Host: I am surprised to learn that doing a little trading with no money changing hands is a no-no. I won't ask again.

I find it odd that they have gone in different directions with these two vehicles.Anyone know why?
Amber -> Red - Cost reduction
Are the wider tires recommended or approved by Honda?
to see the actual difference in any tire size.
