last week we got the 06 with Leather and Navi 4WD for 32,257. I could have probably gotten lower but was satisfied with the price. The color is the Amazon Green Metallic.

    Attention Markny
What dealer gave you that quote? There is another person who also wants to know. Thanks again.
  • kennynmdkennynmd Member Posts: 424
That's one heck of a price being that they threw in alll the free accessories. I'm in the market for a Pilot soon b/c my wife doesn't want to drive my Sequoia b/c of its size.

We bought a 2006 EX-L 4WD NAV pilot yesday for 33,500 out the door with NY Taxes and registration. I thought it is a good deal..is n't it? I got quotes from different dealers and this is the best deal which I got.
  • master1master1 Member Posts: 340
Sounds good. What dealership is it? Also, did you drive it at 72mph yet because many people are complaining about steering wheel vibrations at 72mph on Pilots. Do you have any vibrations? Thanks
  • herogherog Member Posts: 5
Skpok, your $33,500 for 06 EX-L 4WD /Nav Pilot is a very good price, and that's inclued NY Taxes and registration, NY tax is around 2k+. You got a very good deal on this based on all the quotes I am getting. May I ask which dealer you bought this car from? Thanks,
  • marknymarkny Member Posts: 2
I got that quote of 30,280 for a EX w/ Leather from the internet contact person at friendly honda house in Poughkeepsie. Its about 1 hour north of N.Y.C.
  • master1master1 Member Posts: 340
Planet Honda in NY gave me a quote 1000 below invoice. Might want to check it out -- sounds like a fair deal
  • acuratl2acuratl2 Member Posts: 12
Did you have to negotiate this price, or did Lodi Honda quote you $31,258 right from the go?

    Amazing price. Congratulations!
  • honda_guy27honda_guy27 Member Posts: 2
    Jim,
yes you are right the invoice in California (including Destination charges) for 2WD EX-L with Nav is around 31,179. I paid exactly 33000.00 out the door. The tax and license in Orange County comes to about 10% of the purchase price. So what I paid for the car is about 30,079.00 and the rest was tax an license. And that makes the car price $1100 Below Invoice. Please let me know if any of you got anything a whole lot better.
    Thanks.

Just bought my new pilot 2WD EX-L last night.

    Here’s the deal......

    2WD EX-L $29,000 includes destination charge
    Tax 8.1% 2,349
    License 544
    Doc Fee 107

    Out the Door $32,000

Looks like I got it for $200 under invoice. Included driver/pass window tint, paint protection (?), door edge guards, wheel moldings, pin stripe & cargo mat.

Leased thru AHFC for 36mons, 15K per year, residual $16,845, monthly lease payment $394 (includes tax), .20/mi excess & $1500 down. I intend to keep vehicle for at least 5yrs & was going to purchase, but even at 5.75% interest rate, leasing then buying was a little bit cheaper overall. $16,845 + tax + lic is price at end of lease.

No wind noise at 70-75, moon roof noise is better than on my Acura TL w/the moon roof shield (Pilot is pretty quite actually), no vibrations at high speeds, only thing I noticed is compass is off, but I think I need to calibrate. Fit & finish is very good.

As others have said on here, would like to see illuminated steering wheel radio/cruise buttons & auto dim mirror standard on this model.

Previous SUV was Explorer XLT with no complaints, mechanically sound & I did sell privately. Feels like Pilot is same size/slightly bigger cargo capacity than Explorer.

I researched this model comparing to Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Highlander, Ford Explorer and I believe for the price, this is the best value by far with predicted reliability and depreciation better than most models (Toyota is in this category as well). Found Highlander & Pilot to be comparable, but price wise feel you get more bang for the buck from Honda.

Deal essentially completed over internet, met one time with dealer for a little haggling (i.e.: n/c for tint, stripe, etc & throw in cargo mat), then again to sign & drive off.

Pleased with experience. First time purchasing car via net; will do so again! Information on this board was a tremendous help in determining where I was deal wise.

Hi, I'm searching for a 2006 4WD EX (Cloth) Pilot and had a terrific experience with Bell Honda (Fleet Dept). Here's the deal that I have pending (the vehicle has been built an is on it's way from Alabama).

2006 EX Pilot OTD $30550.00 (includes read splash guards).

I'm curious what your total out the door (OTD) price was for the EX-L RES 4WD that you made mention of in your post (including all applicable DOC, REGISTRATION, LICENSING FEES ETC)? Thanks for your assistance.

Anybody else out there with any 2006 OTD prices on Honda EX (CLOTH) 4wd piolot (PREFERABLY THOSE THAT HAVE DEALT IN AZ).

    THANKS

What was your total Out the door purchase price for the vehicle that you made mention of? I'm about ready to purchase a 2006 Honda Pilot EX (Cloth) 4WD with rear splash guards for $30550.00 out the door. The places you made mention of wouldn't even come close to matching this deal on a comparable vehicle.

    Your response is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Did you end up buying from oakland honda or still waiting it out? I am faced with the same dilemma, I could wait a little, but not really sure if dealers here are going to reduce the price substantially based on the scarce supply of 4wd w/ Navi. I've decided to buy from LA if it's the only way I can get a good deal.
  • mliramlira Member Posts: 4
Just wanted to let all whos asking know that I bought a 2006 2WD EX-L with Navigation for 30, 080.00 without tax which was roughly another 2K. Actually bought vehicle at Manly of Santa Rosa but got prices of 30200.00 at Oakland, Serramonte, Dublin and 1 more I forget right now.
  • sunilsunil Member Posts: 52
Still waiting it out. In the Bay Area, the best quote I have from a dealer who actually has one in stock is 33257 (1K over invoice). I also have quotes at 500-over, but not for the color my wife wants. (And I did have the Oakland Honda quote at 500 below invoice, but it was the pay-now-and-your-car-will-come-later deal that I decided to pass on).

Actually, I am also considering buying from LA (going there President's week-end). Buena Park Honda quoted me 300 over invoice, not sure what color or if they have it in stock (just an internet quote). Feel free to check them out (as long as you don't buy the only one they have ;-)).

I am in no rush, but my wife's birthday is mid-March so I am guessing this one will be her birthday present...

Try and get quotes from First Honda and Miller Honda in the LA area before you go. I received quotes for $32,257 (invoice) and $32,457 respectively from these two dealerships. Search the inventory online to confirm that they have the color you are looking for. The thing to realize is despite the short supply these vehicles do sit on the dealer lots for some time. Patience is the key to getting the price you want. Hang in there and good luck.

    Hi All

Thanks for all your messages. Was very helpful to me and my wife in deciding and negotiating on a Pilot. We got the vehicle on saturday and took delivery this monday from Honda dealer in MD(baltimore/silverspring/college park area). We got the 2006 EX-L 4WD Sagebrush with Gray. The dealer quoted a price of 29280 including freight (basically 1000 below invoice and a freight of 550). Added back splash guards, wheel locks and pinstipes for another 200,49 processing fee and with taxes and all that came to 31,250 out of the door. Fair deal.....called around 10 dealers in the area and visited around 4, but no one even came close to this price.

Does anyone know of a good Honda dealer in the Houston Texas area for a 2006 Pilot EX 4dr SUV AWD w/Leather, Navigation System (3.5L 6cyl 5A) also be very appreciative of any ideas of what a good price would be anywhere in Texas.

What dealer did you purchase from in the MD area? I'm in the same market hoping to purchase this weekend. thanks!
  • skpokskpok Member Posts: 3
Sorry for the delay..the dealers name is PlanetHonda in NJ. I drove it around 75mph for a while and I didn't feel any vibration. Hope this helps. SKPOK

herog, sorry for the late response.. Yes..it does include NY taxes and registration. The dealer is Planet Honda in NJ. Hope this helps.
  • sunilsunil Member Posts: 52
Good suggestion !! I got an internet quote for 550 below invoice (31707 !!) from First Honda. Unfortunately, the only color he has available is Black - and my wife will not go for it (sagebrush or steelBlue is what she wants). Oh well - gives me hope that if I am prepared to wait it out, I will get this below invoice by mid-March...

It is from Sport honda in Silver Spring. Call and get a quote on the phone. I tried Northwest, O donell, Ourisman, Rosenthal(Northern VA), Norris Honda and few others. The next best deal after sport was at Norris. They told me around 600 below invoice plus freight and processing on the phone.
  • acuratl2acuratl2 Member Posts: 12
Do you know if the black pilot at 1st Honda has saddle or gray interior? Not sure if you can convince your wife to go for Silver! If you can, Diamond Bar has it, and they said they'd go $1k under invoice.

Try Gilroy Honda. I couldn't find the color and package I wanted anywhere in the Bay Area, but Gilroy Honda Found one for me and had it at their location within a few days. '06 Amazon Green EX-L AWD W/RES for 35800 OTD, which included all taxes and fees, 6 yr warranty, roof rack, hood deflector and door visors. All the other dealers were just trying to sell what they had in stock. You're spending over $30K, you shoudl get the car the YOU want, not what they're trying to sell you.
  • powderboypowderboy Member Posts: 4
We've looked around at all the vehicles in this category and the Pilot is what we want. It's not the coolest looking SUV, but it's the roomiest and the best value.

I've begun my shopping of all the dealers in the state and the best price I have received so far was $31,065, but another dealer said they'd beat that by $200. So, I'm still at $30,865 (about $1000 above where I'd like to be).

Anyone have any suggestions or alternative dealers in CO, ID, NV to check on? Thanks!
  • powderboypowderboy Member Posts: 4
Just received a quote of $30,999, so I can now go to Willey Honda and best that by $200 should I so choose. These vehicles are very popular around here, so nobody is willing to drop to invoice even. :(
  • canaligatorcanaligator Member Posts: 10
Can anybody tell me a dealership that has given them a fair price for this vehicle? It looks like 30K is a fair price.
    Thanks

I have been shopping around for a 2006 EXL AWD in MA. Here are the quotes I have so far (no haggling, phone quotes).

Atamian Honda, Tewksbury, $29922 + 204 doc fee.
    Peter's Honda Nashua NH, $29780 + 170 doc fee.
    Herb Chambers, Burlington, 29000 + 198 doc fee + 550 dest charge.

I'll keep you up to date with other quotes I get. If you could do the same that would be great!!

Just got my Silver billet EXL AWD for $30,500. Not as good of a deal as I had hoped, but paying invoice isn't bad here in Utah. Both the Odyssey and Pilot are hot commodities here in the land of large families! Best of luck to everyone. :)

I got about 4 quotes for pilot EXL with Navi 4wd. The best one was $32,225+Taxes. I am looking for a sage Pearl in the DE-MD-NJ area.
Any feedback on the quote? Should I wait little to get a better deal?
    Thanks

Got a FWD EX-L in Milwaukee area for $28,000 (not incl. splash guards -- big deal). Deal done over the phone. (Got FWD because we already have a 4WD Yukon in case we ever have a real winter again). FWD has traction control anyway.

I am also looking for a 2006 EXL AWD in the RI & MA area, but I want it with Navigation. Are you looking for one without Nav? I assume you are based on the quotes you have received. If you have inquired about the car with Nav, what quotes have you received?
  • marcuccimarcucci Member Posts: 4
The only quote I got for the 06 EXL AWD with NAV was for $250 over invoice. It was from Atamian Honda, Tewksbury and I got the quote by going throught Costco's car buying service. Also there was a $204 doc fee. We decided the NAV wasn't that important so I stopped asking for quotes on it.
  • marcuccimarcucci Member Posts: 4
    Got another quote yesterday:

Boch Honda on the Automile in MASS: 06 EXL AWD $29,588 (includes dest and doc fee)

Commonwealth in Lawrence wouldn't give me a quote but told me to give them a number and they would call me back. I told them $1600 under invoice which would be $28,700. They never called back.

2006 Pilot EX AWD Cloth - $27,714 plus $100 documentary fee (plus TTL), Hugh White Honda, Columbus, OH. The price is $500 below dealer invoice.
  • cygnus1cygnus1 Member Posts: 2
Does this seem like a good deal on a 2006 Honda Pilot AWD with leather & navigation system - $32557 plus Tax Title and License? Thanks. This is from Gillman Honda in Houston area.
  • bobdebobde Member Posts: 6
As I said the best quote I have received for Pilot 2006 AWD with NAVI was $32,225. I offered to pay $31,700 which was invoice price without destination charges, so in reality it is about 500 below invoice. I haven't heard from the dealers since for about 2-3 weeks, until last night, I found a message on my answer machine from a salesman saying that they have some President sale going on this weekend and that they could offer me the $31,700 with doc fees and taxes (Delaware taxes are just 2,75%). It does sound good.
I will check them out this weekend and keep you posted :D

Have been looking for 2006 EXL with RES in Utah and Idaho and was curious where you got the best quote? So far, Willy Honda has been the cheapest for me - still at 32600.
  • muffdmuffd Member Posts: 5
    Hi everyone,
I got these 3 quotes that I thought I would share. I didn't go to any dealers but instead bought it through my credit union. There was no hidden charges. Here are the quotes I received (color can be silver or white):

    LX:
    MSRP: $27545.00
    Credit union price was $24,294.00

EX-L (The one I actually bought):
    MSRP: $ 33,395.00
    Credit union price was $29,990

    EX-cloth:
    MSRP: $30,995
    Credit union price was $27,135

All were around 500-1000 below invoice.
  • jda1jda1 Member Posts: 1
    Hi There,
That price on the LX was the the 4WD or 2WD model. Looks like it was a bargain. I'm going to check into credit unions around here. Thanks for the advice.
  • thebillthebill Member Posts: 194
Since when were Credit Unions in the Car business?
  • muffdmuffd Member Posts: 5
My credit union has a Sales and Auto leasing department. From what I understand, they have a network of dealers that they work with. They call around and look for what you want. From there, they gather up the best prices and get in contact with you.

I called yesterday afternoon and found the one I wanted for almost $1,000 under invoice. I'm having them deliver it to my wife's work today. Definitely the best car buying experience I've had. I did this same thing with my truck last summer.
  • cdrpnretcdrpnret Member Posts: 2
were these quotes for the FWD or AWD models? thaanks in advance.

Those are all FWD models. Sorry I didn't include that in my original posts.
  • muffdmuffd Member Posts: 5

    Patience paid off !!!!!

After hanging around this forum since before Christmas, I finally bought my wife her 06 EX-L AWD with Nav - makes a nice Valentine's Day gift. She comprised on color (Silver because Sagebrush was impossible to find). And we got a great price - 31700 (+ the CA standard fees, 45 doc + 8.75 tire + tax + tags).

That's 557 below invoice on the 4WD EX-L with Nav. I feel lucky to get this deal given how scarce these cars seem to be in NorCal - many other dealers quoted me 1K above invoice last week-end. I finally got a great deal from the internet department at Capitol Honda. And it was a great no-hassle deal - no pressure, no pushy attempts to sell me accesories at inflated prices, no high-pressure sell of extended warranty - just what you want the buying experience to be.

Now I have to figure out how to get the voice-activated Nav working, before our trip down to LA this week-end (although I doubt I will get a chance to drive ;-)).

BTW - I have a quote of 1181 for the 8 year, 100K extended (0 deductible) warranty from hondawarrantyinfo.com. The dealer could not match this price. Has anybody received a better deal ?

    Sunil
